Seeing as my 8 kelp system does 1 stack of bonemeal every 30-60sec. So a single kelp system would give you around 64 bonemeal every 4min, so roughly 4 stacks of bonemeal every 16min The downside with the single system is that the kelp breaks all the time, so for a period of time you're not even producing bonemeal, and you're always replacing kelp! Just step up the system (same setup just 8 instead of 1) and it works WAY better! Or better yet just find a skele spawner, or just make @JCPlayz wither skele farm.
Built one of your newer sugarcane farms recently, with no bonemeal. This was a lifesaver! Thank you so much, you have no idea how helpful this channel has been on so many of my worlds. Thanks again!
If anyone's interested, I did the math for the amount of each raw material you need in order to craft the items used to build this farm. Not sure why I did it, but for me, it makes collecting the materials for the farm a lot more fast, fun, and satisfying. Also, please note that some materials may need to be "adjusted" in order for you to have the right items, like smelting sand into glass by using a furnace, turning wood to wood planks to sticks for torches, etc. But yah have fun guys Wood: 32 Cobblestone: 47 Iron: 30 Redstone: 14 Slime ball: 1 Sand: 41 Kelp: 2
Thanks for the great farm, working well on the xbox one in 1.17. I did have to make a small change since my kelp kept backing up in the water source and not making it to the first hopper, so I removed the two glass panes and replaced them with full blocks start just over the chest, so now the first hopper is in the water. Now the kelp hit it at a rate of about 5-10 per second of the sand movement. It seems the glass pane was not letting the kelp freely flow into the first hopper, with the change, working just fine. The glass block also still allows me to open the first chest if needed. I did leave the farm once to go mining, forgot all about it, and when i came back the kelp was gone but the sand block had not fallen through, so just replaced the kelp and off it went. Great job, keep up the good work. Thanks for supporting Bedrock!

I'm watching this right now because I made a bamboo farm for fun and realised it produces 480 bamboo per minute which is 20000+ per hour. Only downside is that it requires alot of bonemeal. Thanks for the tutorial
I got here b/c I need paper also. Is it just a matter of taking out the composters? That's what I did on his old farm (which stopped working when 1.17 came out.)
Yo can you please help me at the 2:53 part, the red stone doesnt turn to the piston and it just goes straight, was wondering what you did since im assuming you did the farm, im on PC
@@KP-co5io the sand falling through happens when you leave the chunk while the machine is running i found out but then even when you sit in an afk area the kelp will eventually disappear and you have to reset it. either way its better than harvesting kelp
Ya know… I went ahead and just built this the first time without checking my chunks, thinking I was good, and what do ya know, I built it right in the corner of 4 chunk borders😂 ohhhh, I should’ve just checked first. It works great, now tho! Thanks J! P.s., if you guys are on console, use a slime chunk finder to find your chunk borders. There’s a trick to doing it that involves using leaves, but the slime chunk finders even easier.
Yoo thanks a lot man for this cheap and to my surprise insanely efficient bonemeal farm! U earned my sub! No surprise they named u king of the bedrock farms! Appreciate it a lot man truly! Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It is an excellent build, and I even modified the original version slightly to make an auto bamboo farm. Two farms from one model!
@@Harrydarb I'm not exactly sure, I play on MCPE and not XBox. However, I don't see why the mechanics wouldn't be the same (they are both Bedrock after all.)
I made this contraption and had a bamboo farm. Also worked with sugarcane.. then, 1.17 happened. Nothing worked anymore.. Now, I can just modify it for kale! This is great!!
Started using this farm, and it seems to work well until random breakage occurs. For seemingly no reason, the water being pushed by the piston will fail to continue flowing after the piston has retracted, which prevents the kelp from growing. Toggling the farm off and back on corrects the issue, but it happens very often. Edit: swapped out the slab for water-logged leaves encased by four trapdoors and it seems to be working beautifully. Made sure to place the leaves just above where the slab was. Edit: Nevermind. Having the same issue. Maybe it’s a memory leak or something and just need to restart the game.
Here's how to turn this into an infinite fuel farm: 1- replace the composters with smoker 2- cook some enough kelp to make a dried kelp block (wich can smelt up to 20 items) 3- use the kelp blocks to smelt and get more dried kelp to make more blocks And there you have an infinite supply of high efficiency fuel :)
Tried but no very efficient In java is better to build a carpet duplicator as fuel for super smelters. In bedrock bamboo sticks directly, less resources and more efficient.
Legendary vid mate loved how u explained while doing it so i know im not just placing redstone for nothing cheers mate Also i Liked and subbed mate have a good day :)
I came here from the Sugarcane 1.17 Farm. I use your tutorials for everything! So here's a story that happened today. I was playing MC with my pals when apparently, we needed sugar cane. So unaware of the update's effect on the farm, I decided to built the 1.16 one, which I have memorized by heart. Then as I would turn it on.. well it didnt work. Did research, and BAM I find it doesnt work. So I follow the 1.17 one and practically cry because I need bonemeal, but we're nowhere near our skeleton farm. So I make this one. I built the sugarcane one first, not realizing it means I would have to build this entire machine BACKWARDS. And that was how I had a mental breakdown trying to follow a tutorial backwards. All in all, great tutorial!
The bottom kelp will randomly break. It happened while I was afking. It's so weird. It just disappears without a trace. It's not built on a chunk border. Edit: And sometimes it just stops working. The bottom kelp is still there.
I’m having the same problem lol, a fix for this would be great, I have a skeleton farm but it’s a 2-3 min mine cart ride away, would love to have this work for bonemeal production at the main base
I was having the same issue. When I stood too close to the farm it would break within a couple mins, but if I ran around my base for a bit I could get 5-10 mins before it would stop growing. I just replaced the redstone clock with a dropper comparator clock and left it all on standard tick speed and it seems to be working fine now. I'm not really sure what difference it makes but the water seems to be moving smoothly in and out now instead of cutting the stream directly off.
I had the same issue, but I didn't try to fix it like Dreadly. I did, however, convert the top piston to a sticky piston and place a solid block in front of it. I think the piston may have been the culprit for me. I also needed to add a second hopper because the keep was getting hung up between the growing kelp and existing hopper. Seems to work so far. Unfortunately mine is on a chunk border so it breaks when I walk away...
So my kelp keeps breaking it works for a bit but breaks should this be happing or is it normal. It's not on a chunk border btw Edit: do not build this farm it is unreliable and breaks for most people. I would recommend building his new bonemeal farm as it's reliable.
Is it the potato/carrot farm where you fill dispensers with bonemeal? I just built that and now I need a bonemeal farm. But I see all these crazy fast bonemeal farms on youtube but they're all for frickin bedrock....... I built a cactus bonemeal farm that works tho, but one bonemeal requires about 10 cactus blocks so its waayyy too slow. I also can't find a skeleton spawner btw. If you know about anything I could do please let me know👍
I have tried doing this like 20 times and none of them have worked, the top of the kelp always breaks and doesn't grow back, any idea why and how I can fix it?
After reading the comments there are 2 things to be aware of: Don't build it on a chunk border. Make sure there is no sand under the sticky piston. Then it works well!
@@jayda-i1i it won’t work on a border chunk. Most it into a chunk so no part of it is near the border. Also the sand can break if you move away from the machine. You need to turn it off if you leave the chunk.
I’m trying to link this up with your sugar cane farm, so that’ll have bone meal. I’m building them one on top of eachother (because I’m in a pretty tight space trying to fit them into my base). There’s an issue that it’s on a chunk border and it doesn’t seem to work, but I may be able to find another spot to build it (while slightly modifying my base plans). Apart from that, my only question is can I, instead of creating a new red stone clock, link this up with one from the sugar cane farm by making the red stone torch tower taller? I’d like them to both be active at the same time, and that would fix it so I don’t have to click two levers. I’m not huge into red stone, so if they are any issues with this please let me know.
@@assassinsniper it ended up working, however because the bone meal farm was on a chunk border I had to move it, resulting in a decently long hopper chain that will likely cause a bit of lag. Nothing too bad yet, but I plan on putting more things in the area that’ll create lag.
Hey I made two of them in separate areas and one seems to not work at all and the other is really slow, I checked the red stone and watch the video over idk what to do. Help?
Thank you! Also I saw that if you replace the composers with furnaces or smokers you can cook the kelp for an infinite food source but not a great one.
JC me and my friend found the most luckiest seed, at first I thought he looked up the seed but he didn’t. the end portal is literally so close to spawn plus terracotta biome with 6+ spawners in the caves
Build this amazing farm. Because I don't like to wait I expanded it to the length of 8, now I got a stack of bonemeal in under a minute, I think even under 30 seconds 🤔👍
I'm doing 4, but before understanding what is going on, I wired them up to turn on with a single lever. Lots of pain/fun trying to figure out the best circuit length so that sand doesn't quickly drop out from the piston. Then realized you don't need separate water filled chambers.. can just build a big one.
Heyy great video! Thanks for the help, but I'd recommend you mention the "fit it in a chunk" earlier on in the video or add to the description/pinned comment as some of us build while watching
I built this today on our realm. It breaks almost immediately, stopping growing the kelp. What kelp has grown disappears. It doesn't seem to go to a hopper, chest, or composter at all. I've built and rebuilt it 3 times now, exactly as the video shows. I'm not understanding what the issue is? What does it keep doing this?
I set this up perfect and had it working but then sometimes randomly it just stops working, the Kelp won't grow a second time and just stays at one high

This was my first red stone use in the game, thanks 🙂. I learned the hard way, tried making it yesterday and it didn’t work because I didn’t build it in a chunk. Rebuilt it today in a 16x16 chunk.
made it with 5 slices works extremely well, thanks JC!
Does it work in java
Im always looking for farms and elevators and stuff, but they never work for me! I thougt watching this video and trying to see if it works would be a waste of time but NOPE! It actually worked! Im so so happy! I am DEFINITELY subscribing!
My friends and I just bought realms. I’m gonna get so ahead of them with these tutorials. Thanks man!
Though I'm late some people say zero ticks arnt the best is realms
JC really helped a lot! I just finished the flower farm and I'm currently working on this one for it.
Does it work in java
No
I play bedrock (PSN) not Java so it works for me. Also what’s Java like?
Awesome Tutorial as always! I think it would be great if you showed the dimensions of the farm first too!
I'm watching this right now because I made a bamboo farm for fun and realised it produces 480 bamboo per minute which is 20000+ per hour. Only downside is that it requires alot of bonemeal. Thanks for the tutorial
I’m in a factions server and I need a lot of paper to upgrade villagers. This helps a lot👍
I got here b/c I need paper also. Is it just a matter of taking out the composters? That's what I did on his old farm (which stopped working when 1.17 came out.)
Just to confirm THIS STILL WORKS :) THANKS JC 🙏
Yo can you please help me at the 2:53 part, the red stone doesnt turn to the piston and it just goes straight, was wondering what you did since im assuming you did the farm, im on PC
hey are you having any issues with it? i built it and it runs but eventually the sand falls through and destroys the kelp
@@XHunkerX same did you find a fix?
@@KP-co5io the sand falling through happens when you leave the chunk while the machine is running i found out but then even when you sit in an afk area the kelp will eventually disappear and you have to reset it. either way its better than harvesting kelp
@@Depoppp it ended up being because i would leave the chunk with the machine running
This still works on PS4 as long as you’re not on a chunk border, like you said. Subscribed!
There’s a trick to doing it that involves using leaves, but the slime chunk finders even easier.
thank you for letting everyone know the farm breaks when you leave because my friends will wonder why my one works better
How fix
Yoo thanks a lot man for this cheap and to my surprise insanely efficient bonemeal farm! U earned my sub! No surprise they named u king of the bedrock farms! Appreciate it a lot man truly! Love from Malaysia 🇲🇾
Thank you so much for this tutorial. It is an excellent build, and I even modified the original version slightly to make an auto bamboo farm. Two farms from one model!
Work on Xbox still ?
Did you ever find a fix for this problem? I am having the same one
following. i'm having breakage too.
@@ShadyBeef i think turning off the farm and leaving the area to unload the chunk seems to help, if only to reset or extend the time between breakages
all I need is *"B O N E M E A L ! ! !"*
Kelp is converted to bone meal with the composted…
And i need hidangan tulang
Translate it to malay
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!! THIS HELPS OUT A LOT
It works even in 1.17.1. Just built it today and it helps me a lot getting bone meal. Thanks!
quick tip : turn off the farm when you leave the chunk to prevent the kelp breaks
edit : okay nvm, he mentioned it in the end of the video
Loo
OK THX YOU
If it does that do I have to rebuild the machine or how do I fix that
Does the farm work in Java
Here's how to turn this into an infinite fuel farm:
1- replace the composters with smoker
2- cook some enough kelp to make a dried kelp block (wich can smelt up to 20 items)
3- use the kelp blocks to smelt and get more dried kelp to make more blocks
And there you have an infinite supply of high efficiency fuel :)
Tried but no very efficient
In java is better to build a carpet duplicator as fuel for super smelters. In bedrock bamboo sticks directly, less resources and more efficient.
I needed this for my tree farm thanks a lot!
I did as well! Works amazing
Im so glad u had this bc my sugar cane farm broke and i made ur new farm then needed bone meal thank u
Yesss, this kelp zero tick farm that still works in 1.17
Are u on xbox
@@maxdegyansky3932 this works on Xbox
For anyone who is having trouble with the kelp breaking, try leaving the trap door open. It works perfectly for me.
Open facing up or down?
Legendary vid mate loved how u explained while doing it so i know im not just placing redstone for nothing cheers mate
Also i Liked and subbed mate have a good day :)
Oh my Lord this farm is too op definitely recommend
Another great video! You even included troubleshooting issues and solutions. Good job sir!
Just wanted this i was just looking for this on RUclips but I got the perfect video today for bonemeal
Thanks for the heart bro
My bone meal farm is running beautifully. Left a like, here's the comment, and I've subscribed. Thank you
I used this farm to get the achievement eat dried kelp for 3 days thanks!
Huh it makes bonemeal and you get like massive amounts of the stuff by just hitting a few kelp
He is the go to guy for farms in bedrock I have all his builds in my world.
Does this work for Java? I can’t find many good farms and I didn’t want to waste materials so I’m just asking forst
@@unic0rnslovemeh631Sorry to say but, I think these farms are bedrock only farms.
The bottom kelp will randomly break. It happened while I was afking. It's so weird. It just disappears without a trace. It's not built on a chunk border.
Edit: And sometimes it just stops working. The bottom kelp is still there.
Was also havig this problem. Any fixes out there?
I’m having the same problem lol, a fix for this would be great, I have a skeleton farm but it’s a 2-3 min mine cart ride away, would love to have this work for bonemeal production at the main base
Yeah, I’m having the same issue as well. Sometimes I can go 10minutes without it breaking other times I can’t go a minute.
The best part is your way of explaining and the summary at the end 🙂 I subscribed.
Dude this looks epic and your wither skeleton farm works so well I ate dinner and got 13 skulls!
Great build! Really easy and quick to build. Thanks so much for the design and the clear instructions!
You’re amazing, you helped me out so much. Props to you man😂😂
Wow thanks for showing how to fix it. I was wondering why it wasn’t working. THANKS
So my kelp keeps breaking it works for a bit but breaks should this be happing or is it normal. It's not on a chunk border btw
Edit: do not build this farm it is unreliable and breaks for most people. I would recommend building his new bonemeal farm as it's reliable.
Same problem
What system are you on? I'm on switch

This happens to me too. Did you ever get it to work?
I have done exactly as the tutorial but this happens to me too. Redstone don't power pistons

Maybe you placed it on a chunk border?
@@LM25005 yes I am
I've got a micro farm that requires tons of bonemeal so I can just use this farm to automaticly load it, thanks!
If you know about anything I could do please let me know👍
Arend Heus I don’t know but I think it is because zero tick farms don’t work on java but I’m not sure u will have to look into it
@@jakjak6928 yeah I'm thinking about either make the cactus farm 20 times bigger to make it give at least something, or just give up on it lol
I have tried doing this like 20 times and none of them have worked, the top of the kelp always breaks and doesn't grow back, any idea why and how I can fix it?

Woah I need to make three others now
I now want to make 5 of these lol
After reading the comments there are 2 things to be aware of:
Don't build it on a chunk border.
Make sure there is no sand under the sticky piston.
Then it works well!
How am I suppose to know what a chunk border is
But the sand keeps going down
for some reason the piston is not pushing the kelp. the chunk border is right between the water and piston though so shouldn’t it work? please help :{
and the machine just keeps pulsing instead of being consistent
@@jayda-i1i it won’t work on a border chunk. Most it into a chunk so no part of it is near the border.
Also the sand can break if you move away from the machine. You need to turn it off if you leave the chunk.
Thank u so much now i have infinite bone Meal 💓💛
That's a cool idea. I'm running them separately currently. Let us know how that works for ya!
@@assassinsniper it ended up working, however because the bone meal farm was on a chunk border I had to move it, resulting in a decently long hopper chain that will likely cause a bit of lag. Nothing too bad yet, but I plan on putting more things in the area that’ll create lag.
Nice idea, i just finished my sugar cane farm and searched for bone meal farm
Hey I made two of them in separate areas and one seems to not work at all and the other is really slow, I checked the red stone and watch the video over idk what to do. Help?
@@portermcconkie6823 they on a chunk border? To check, divide the coordinates by 16, and if you get a whole number youre on a chunk border.
The way you explain every step is very easy to follow I've used some of your other farms and I hope you keep up the good work man!!❤
Does this still work because when I use it, the top sand block always breaks and destroys the kelp, does anyone know how to fix this?
Same , also the automatic crop with bone meal farm is broken for the same reason.

Build this amazing farm. Because I don't like to wait I expanded it to the length of 8, now I got a stack of bonemeal in under a minute, I think even under 30 seconds 🤔👍
You can trust this guy everytime, every redstone machines he made really works👍
I'm doing 4, but before understanding what is going on, I wired them up to turn on with a single lever.
Lots of pain/fun trying to figure out the best circuit length so that sand doesn't quickly drop out from the piston. Then realized you don't need separate water filled chambers.. can just build a big one.
Heyy great video! Thanks for the help, but I'd recommend you mention the "fit it in a chunk" earlier on in the video or add to the description/pinned comment as some of us build while watching
Ahh mate just done the same thing slapped the build dead centre over a border 😆🤦♂️
I built this today on our realm. It breaks almost immediately, stopping growing the kelp. What kelp has grown disappears. It doesn't seem to go to a hopper, chest, or composter at all.
