What are some more guitar solos that faded out too soon?
The ending solo for Back in black, i wanted angus to play more. Fucking love his playing
Will you marry me
The ending solo to The Loner by Gary Moore!!!! I can't put into words how incredible his playing is! He's one of the best that ever lived!
Bro please respond to my dm in ig
Black Dog solo
Hotel California: Arpeggios repeat until the end of time
Jamsville damn they’ll need to drop the tuning real fast😂
Live they just suddenly strum a chord like "dun dun dun dun dun" and stop
A-T Studios lmao
A-T Studios good one! Lol
Some say that song still hasn't ended
I feel like Free Bird would never end
I've played it (not note for note the real thing, just riffing off of it) and I can guarantee it is hard to stop.
It’d go from a 10 minute song to 20 minute
Technically it probably hasn't, since the 70s 😂
Story goes it continues to this day....
The band is in the next life literally still playing the solo to this day.
"Legendary Licks You Can't Play Because They're After The End of The Song."

For those who just want to hear the solos:
2:30 Fade to Black
4:58 Comfortably Numb
7:54 Back in Black
10:30 While my guitar gently weeps
Hero
Thanks
Legend
I thought you meant their careers haha, but the solo idea is way better.
Me too
Lol how morbid u killed me😂
2:32 Fade to Black
5:02 Comfortably Numb
7:57 Back In Black
10:34 While My Guitar Gently Weeps
Mr Crowley, not only was the solo cut off too soon so was Randy 😭
Do all of you prefer the first or second solo? Ill go with the first one.
@@jgarcia2273 same thats my fav solo ever
I prefer the first but the second is still phenomenal. I loved the way the first one just comes out of no where
J Garcia i can’t tell, they are just so good
LMAO
*plays comfortably numb*
The live versions of the song: am I a joke to you?
Exactly
Cute pic of sal
1994 earls court. pulse tour, best comfortably numb solo in history
Well that applies to every song he mentions ^^'
@@nunyabusiness8538 DSOT is better
The rest of the fade to black solo is on guitar hero Metallica
And any live performance
I AM ZIM!! Well I meant the studio version, he mainly improvises live
@@callmetrab7194 There's some improvisation, but it's definitely not "mainly". It has a set length and ending, which is always the same, and not improvised.
@@rampager1990 The live performance's solo ends earlier than the album version. Everything you hear live is already on the album. So you don't hear anything extra live. In fact, you hear LESS live. The song basically ends on the climax note instead of playing for another 30s.
Adam Eves Adam Eves based on all the live performances I’ve seen he plays the intro licks of the solo the same, then kicks on the wah and improvises until the ascending run that ends on those 22 fret bends. Then after those bends he plays the same alternate ending to the solo. He only keeps those licks the same from what I’ve seen.
the pulse version of comfortably numb does everything you'll ever need.
ever
Live in pompeii has to be the best live version in my opinion
If eruption didn’t end, they would still be recording
Logan Keilty same with freebird
Wait eruption is a recording too?
If anything didn't end they'd be still recording
Amir Belinsky true
@@amirbelinsky3461 right lmao
New idea for legendary licks. “Legendary licks you can’t play because they’re on a 12 string”
Lukesf hotel California
CheerwineIsLit Damn, beat me by 10 minutes.
Beach Boys- Wouldn't It Be Nice (Intro)
Agreed
39 by queen
It’s not Fade to Black anymore, it’s just Black
To Black?
The Dancing Guy sounds like a porno
It would have been perfect if Fade to Black would have been the last track in And justice for all and the next album would have been Black album!
Unfade To Black
there is real ending to fade to black i remember i dont just get why they have to fade it away
If Famous Guitar Solos Didn't Fade Out
Me : Watch Live version
Can't do that with The Beatles.
@@Geometrydashfan56 True, but Prince did a phenomenal version when he played it with Tom Petty. The best by far in my opinion.
John Lake one of my top favorite live performances of all time
Especially for the Comfortably Numb solo!
That’s what I was thinking with like Pink Floyd or rush or Led Zeppelin
Being totally honest - I thought this was going to be parts played at full volume, where normally they fade. I thought I was going to be disappointed after I realized that wasn't the case... and I was dead wrong. This is a master class in not only playing like another guitarist, but NAILING, what makes a particular player's style unique! Awesome work!
Un-faded Fade to black solo was always played by Kirk at every Metallica's live performance...
and this ending doesn't sound like it fits fade to black. i didn't like it at all
+
And in guitar hero
@@JadKanounji Because it doesn't FADE.
@@JadKanounji really? I thought it was amazing
I cannae believe Mr Crowley wasn't even an honourable mention
Yeah I was about to comment this
Man when i saw the title, first taught was mr crowly than fade to black, its a shame that is'nt în the video. Hope he will do another one that includes mr crowly.
I think in the live version he played the whole solo
@@erosennin2162 Exactly, the first thing when I saw the title was "He'll certainly mention Mr. Crowley"
i was actually about to say Tonight from diary
So gilmour did the solo’s longer on stage, so he kinda wrote them himself. Gotta say you got tooo damn close to it😂
Nick Boon I was like wow this is goo.... wait a minute!
@@OutaTimeFPV Yep. Sounds like he listed to the Delicate Sound of Thunder version....
wurm90125 that melodic buildup at the end happens in the pulse version too but this one did have heavy DSOT vibes
Nl?
Live at Pompeii is the best versions of this guitar solo
Listen to gilmour live in pompeii comfortably numb he played there a six minutes solo.
The version from Pulse is also superb. Got to check out the Pompeii one.
@@TheRiddler491 I love it
Pulse live is my absolute favourite Live show
It is the one i grew up with
Thanks dad for the nice music taste
mr blue sky I agree 100%. Although this was a cool video, he essentially just copied the PULSE version of comfortably numb
I wish Tonight by Ozzy Osbourne didn’t fade out as quickly as it did. Love hearing Randy Rhoads guitar solos
Amrick Dhillon my favorite Ozzy song!
I also thought of "Mr Crowley" and how it fades out! I would love to have heard Rhoads do a very extended version of that solo!
I was looking for this comment, one of the best solos of all time
Rip randy
First solo I thought of as well
Tyler really is a good minded guy. Cause he knows every guitarists and he's just nice and cool. Lots of support from me Tyler
In Gilmour's case you don't have to guess, just watch any live performance of Comfortably Numb. Especially the Pulse one
I cry when i hear that one
I always liked the Pompei 2016 one more
@@emiliobankier1169 Same, for me it's the absolute best

It was never long enough
@@decaff__6866 heavily agreed.. should have been other 11 minutes long
It should play out the way it does live only like 2 more mins ahah
I’m sorry man , but that fade to black solo was fucking awesome, take it any day over the original
It needs some work but yeah, also try the belgium, brussels show or seattle 89'
7:58 is the face I made during every guitar part you played.
It's really fun to watch someone so talented.
Sjaak Verkade that rake had me
That Fade To Black solo was lit bruv
Well you kinda know what would happen if solos didn't fade out, just check out that song live
I still haven't read a subpar comment from anyone whose name is Tomislav!
E sad jesi
Izdržati ću nekako 🤔
The opening solo of Wish You Were Here by Pink Floyd. I’d love to hear a whole song in the style of that solo
Great song, first solo I ever learned.
Freskystyley413 there’s a version of WYWH played by Roger Waters and Eric Clapton that I’m sure you can find here on RUclips. Clapton’s guitar playing is very much in that style. It’s not Gilmour, of course, but Clapton plays some beautiful licks that translate perfectly to the opening solo on the original song. You should check it out.
Thomas Palombini I appreciate it man! Gonna have to check that out
The Rambling Idiots Ditto one of my first solos aswell
Ozzy -Mr Crowley, Randy’s solos always kick ass
Its so annoying that it fades , like just let him go
End solo of Mr. Crowley by the man, the myth, the legend, Mr. Randy Rhoads.
You can’t kill rock and roll
First 20 seconds of your adaption to the comfortably numb solo is almost identical to the pulse live version, check it out by the way if you haven’t seen it. It’s the best live performance of all time, it think it is anyway.
that means he succeeded haha.
Cor you have to be good to have one of the best guitarists of all time love your stuff Tyler and David are some of my biggest inspirations
Had the same thought. Instantly thought he listened to the Pulse version and tried to copy that, but he's just incredibly inventive. Nailed the Gilmour tone.
I'm sure he's heard it
The ultimate Gilmour version of Comfortably Numb, with an awesome full second solo, is from "Is There Anybody Out There? The Wall: Live 1980-1981".
You Can't Kill Rock and Roll Ozzy Osbourne, Randy's outro solo is amazing
Stephen I was thinking the same
Tonight- even more amazing outro.
Since he’s wearing a Polyphia hoodie I wanna see him make a video relating to Tim Henson and his playing
3:47
He went dangerously close to Speed Kills there.
Wow! I can't believe I didn't catch that the first time
Evan Ng
Such an amazing song
Tonight end solo by Randy Rhoads. That has to be one of the most comforting solos. So much feel, so little time to appreciate it. Wonder if they recorded more of it.
I cant fucking believe that he did not add mr crowley
Life Without You is one of my all time favorite solos. The way it fades out after SRV does that crazy bend makes me wish the recording never stopped.
RcB_RL agreed. His live version is amazing!
I’m highly disappointed that Randy Rhoads’s mr Crowley solo didn’t even get a honorable mention in this video :(
Mr crowley, what a solo!!! The last licks are amazing, and i think is the best ending possible for the song. Gotta love Randy
There are actually quite a few of Randy's solos that fade out, it would have been killer to see any of them. Then again, replicating Randy is a monstrous task on its own.
I personally wish the Hendrix Little Wing solo didn’t fade so quick. That’s easily one of my favorites and you can hear him start to go off right as it fades
Listen to the SRV version, it's 6 minutes long or something like that
"The Ministry of Lost Souls" would just keep modulating upward forever.
I thought this was gonna be talking about guitar solos fading out of popularity in mainstream music
Greta Van Fleet = your comment null
@@softhands3394 not really when you look at just exactly how many memorable radio songs there are with guitar solos in recent years
@@softhands3394 they're not mainstream and they're also not very good theyre a led zeppelin copy
Same
Guh uh Huh listen to Brad Paisley. He’s one of the biggest country stars, but he’s also an insane guitar player. Listen to his guitar album “Play,” it’s mainly instrumentals.
No one:
Tyler: Free Bird's solo faded too soon
The Freebird solo actually doesn't fade out... Look up Freebird (extended version). Allen Collins makes his final rounds in that part.
I always loved the outro solo for Mr Crowley and you can hear parts of it as it fades out that sound so good and I never understood why Ozzy decided to fade out so I reckon that would be a good one to do :)
I seriously doubt that of all the people involved ozzy would have been the one make this decision....
My guess would be Rhodes or one of the other guys of the Band
The tones, production, video/sound quality, etc etc is second to none on youtube, Tyler
I really like the Kirk Hammett solo
And David Gilmore..
Angus Young
Eric Clapton
Basically everything Tyler did
If all guitar solos didn't fade out then the world would be. Better place
Facts. That would have made already great songs a bit better.
I’ll gladly live in that world!
Please make a part two
And include Mr Crowley
Uploads like this is why you're my favorite RUclipsr. Keep it up bro, love it.
Wow! Bro, you have become one of my favorite guitarists to watch over the past month or so.. Bravo! Bravo!
if you search for "fade to black guitars only", you can hear the end of the solo clearly. it has an end.
This is actually really cool.
You should've done Where Ever I May Roam. It fades out way too early.
ruclips.net/video/bMmmY4VpxFQ/видео.html you can hear the whole solo in this clip! :)
Dave Smith thanks for showing us this greatness
"The best of time - Dream Theater"
I always wish that it never stops
I have heard that the Free Bird solo actually never ended. It might have faded out on the recording, but the legends says it still goes on to this day.
It's 530 am, I just logged on for the day at home. And I am PUMPED after hearing that fade to black solo! Stay safe Tyler and thank you for a awesome video!
"Tonight" by Ozzy/Randy should be on this list.
Tom Tobin pretty much all the solos on diary of a madman..too many fade outs
mr crowley
@@nickgale9436 My thoughts exactly!
Dream Theater - Take the Time. At the end of the song John Petrucci plays an amazing lick, and during that lick the fade-out starts and as the song fades out you think '... SO WHAT HAPPENS NEXT!?'
At least during live versions the solo actually has a satisfying ending :)
Was gonna mention that one! If you haven't seen it, check out the live performance in Tokyo (either 1992 or 1993) where he plays an extended version which actually finishes. Soooo good
Comfortably Numb, but the solo is 30 minutes long, and everybody else went home
I'd fucking stay
Comfortably Home.
The live versions feel like they went on that long or maybe it’s just because I hit rewind repeatedly...
I think he’s still playing it now!
I do like how whenever comfortably numb was played live, gilmour did extend it for like, 2 extra minutes.
This is the kind of stuff I like from my guitar youtubers out there. Fun ideas. Cool concept man! Keep em coming!
nobody:
Music is win: Lemme just recreate these super talented artists perfectly
I would've loved to hear your interpretation of Rush's Different Strings. The solo sounds incomplete and just fades out right when it should have gotten good.
Good choice.
Yes!
or Lessons
1:02 seriously those eye brow moves are a result of watching hours of Stevie T
Dude, this is probably one of the coolest videos you've done
In the parellel universe, Freedbird did not fade out, and the song ran for 49 minutes, and eventually the guitarist ran out of guitar techniques and imvented sweep picking.
The Sultans Of Swing outro solo ends during the fadeout by going back to the "chorus" riff :P
And I like epic solos that fade out leaving you wanting more. That just adds to their legendariness (legendarity?). Also, While My Guitar Gently Weeps can only ever be pictured as being performed by Prince at the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame ceremony now.
When i saw the title I instantly thought of At Wits End Solo by Dream Theater.
Rúben Almeida A New Beginning, Take the Time, The Ministry of Lost Souls, and The Best of Times as well.
Joe Romano The Best of Times technically doesn’t fade out but it’s hard to find the “full” version lol
The 3 songs I wished were on the list were, in no particular order:
Mr. Crowley - Randy Rhoads
Comfortably Numb - David Gilmour
Fade to Black - Kirk Hammett
2 out of the 3 ain't bad, though!
This video is amazing Tyler im honestly blown away you nailed this!
Bruh this was your best vid yet, loved every single one
I would’ve liked to hear what little wing would have sounded like if it kept going
Hendrix gave it a perfect live ending at Royal Albert Hall. Magical...
When I think of guitar solos that I wish didn’t fade out I automatically think of the ending solo in Mr. Crowley by Ozzy. It’s one of my favorite Randy Rhoads solos.
Ending/fadeout to "The ministry of lost souls" by Dream Theater might be the best outro ever, closely followed by the outro from Floods.
Tyler : Eric Clapton
Me : yes.
Tyler : While my guitar gently weeps
Me : YES.
Paul Gd lmao same
While my guitar djently weeps**
The back in black solo gave me so much satisfaction thank you so much
Here’s some of my picks:
Ozzy Osbourne- “Tonight”
Fleetwood Mac- “Isn’t It Midnight”
Ghost- “Ritual”
I was going to reply Randy's solo on Tonight. What an exceptional solo.
I wish Ritual never ended that shit gets me every single time
Some of these solos have been played in extended versions live by the respective bands
Ahhh that is THE question definitely! What I think solos don't do anymore in today's music, at least the ones you hear on the radio, are long solos, or any nowadays. It's awesome to see, and I'll take anything with the Kirk Wah Pedal!
As long as it's not too much wah like the solos he plays live for Fade to Black.
@@prometheustv6558 ahh gotcha
Best video yet . Love the concept , also, the extended solos were perfect
The Best of Times. The last solo may already be 3 minutes long, but I could listen forever.
The impersonations were on point. Really thought I was listening to Angus Young there.
Dude, the end solo for Coming Home from Avenged Sevenfold
1 million subs = secret tone lesson?
All those songs faded out for a reason. They sound epic that way
All those songs faded out for a reason. Records/LPs/CDs fit only a specific amount of time on them. Also the radio doesn't like to play 10min songs (even when their 7 minute guitar solos are pure eargasms). You gotta cut it up to deliver it to your audience and save the rest for the live experience.
Solid teaching on vibrato technique. It’s one of those things that make you sound like an amateur, and never know it. I wish I had RUclips when I was 14, 36 years ago.
Mate how did you get so camera confident
By being great at what he does. Confidence is born of competence.
Practice and taking feedback... sorry to give the obvious answer but, ya know?
LTD9392
This is just plainly untrue and there are so many examples of this
@@shredgod6394 I have a feeling you may be referring to the many people who demonstrate high levels of confidence, without necessarily being competent. Example, the brash guy who speaks loudly and with certainty, despite being a total buffoon, as he's totally oblivious to how ignorant he is. But to someone who may not have much confidence in themselves - either in general or when in certain situations - to expand your knowledge or ability in any given field will translate into the confidence you display. So to the OP's question, he's confident in front of a camera because he knows he's good at what he does. Hope this clarifies.
What about Nightrain and Double Talkin' Jive by Guns N' Roses?
Something I have always wondered
Bravo! That Fade to Black almost made me cry and I forgot that wasn't even in the song
Dude what a great concept! I thought of this for years
fade to black has live versions where they literally finish the solo, idk kinda ruined it tbh

I would definitely have to recommend the solo at the end of “Melissa” by the Allman brothers. That peachy tone and perfect vibrato just makes it so you never want it to end.
The fadeout of the solo at the end of Spirit in the Sky always leaves me hanging.
He plays like his feet are stuck in concrete
Angus Mulcahy i think its so he doesn’t mess up the camera angle...
that's similar to how Angus Young plays live so I think he was trying to replicate that as well
However he looks he plays frigging fantastic!
