Dreams of restoring historic Abbey Theatre stones rekindled after 62 years in a Dublin garden

A 93-year-old woman is hoping her late husband's dream of restoring the building blocks of the original Abbey Theatre in Dublin can be realised - more than six decades after he single-handedly saved them from being dumped. The 720 granite stones have been kept in Joan Hanly's garden in Dalkey since 1961, but the Office of Public Works is about to begin the process of conserving them.
