This is your best video so far. With Negrito and Gris spying on the neighbor cat, the chasing of butterflies, the little dirt bath, the delicate "hunt" for who knows what and then the beautiful, extended conversation with the very cute feral. Negrito's pitch got higher as he wasn't sure what he wanted from the beauty when she got closer and gave him the friendly squint. I'm curious about how that chat ended. Very entertaining video. Thank you.

@@jennyhildebrand9335 I'm so sorry for all that happened to you and your cats 😭I can't imagine the pain. We are very lucky with where we live and how safe it is. In the neighbourhood, we have cats, small dogs and even a bunny who all get to roam free because of how safe the area is. Our cats get LIMITED time outside and we feel it's safe enough for them to enjoy some outdoor time! Thanks for watching 💚
@@jennyhildebrand9335I'm in Michigan and have a rescue who walked into my home begging for help. At some point long before he came to me he had been nabbed by either a dog or a coyote. Whatever it was had got him by the base of the tail, right near where it joins the body. There was a fang puncture on each side, and it had gotten infected. The infection was all through his body by the time he came to me. It took 4 months to clear the infection. He was in so much pain. Poor dear. He's much better off now, inside, but he still wants to go explore and jets out the door when I think he's safely in another room. But we always get him back as quickly as we can. The last time he really got out, it was a long time before I found him. And he brought back a virus that he passed to the other cats in the home. One of the cats picked up FIV from fighting on the streets. I had taken him to be neutered and planned to release him because he was a semi-feral, not afraid of people but no interest in being indoors. When he tested positive the vet insisted he had to be kept away from the other street cats, because he was so banged up and cut that it was obvious he was always fighting, and that's how FIV is spread. He gets along with the other two cats here, but one time I opened my door when a stray cat just happened to be walking across my step, and before I knew it my FIV boy found a way past my leg and shot out the door chasing the poor stray away. Thankfully the stray got away and I caught my cat, but that gave me a scare. FIV is a nasty disease, and there's FeLV too, even worse than FIV. It's nice if there's a healthy population of outdoor cats in the area, but viruses are just as dangerous as predators. So I do my best to keep all of mine inside.

Yes it does prove this! The so called "experts" that say cats only meow to humans so need to see this! Of course I've always known cats talk to each other as I've had cats (and a few dogs) for the past 60 years and I think they are smarter than dogs.
That is not the claim. The claim is that they rarely meow to each other after they grow up. That mom’s and kittens meow to each other. And domestic cats evolved to meow with humans much like kittens and mothers meow to each other.
intrigued by the interaction with the kitten. seems like your cat was telling the kitten to back off, and then afterward while he was turned away, he started doing what sounds to me like the "looking for friend" yowls, and then when he saw the kitten again he approached and seemed more relaxed. did he have a change of heart?
Great observation! It really did seem like a mix of emotions-maybe a bit of initial caution, followed by curiosity or even an attempt to make friends 🐱💭Hopefully we'll get to see the kitten sometime soon! 😊Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Sooo interesting, right? We want to rescue the kitten but we also don’t want to kidnap somebody’s pet, so we’re keeping an eye out for now. Thanks for watching ❤️
@dianaellul9345 Negrito should meet my kitten. They would talk for days. They hardly say a word to me, but they have full on monologues with my other cat. The cat just looks at them with a bemused expression.
It seems to depend a great deal on context. Feral cats don't meow to each other much except with kittens, as the little ones don't have fully developed hearing. Cats that grew up around humans will meow much more often, both to humans and to each other, because they have to use meows with humans and it just makes sense to extend that method of communication to everything else.
This was hilarious. My cats were all at “It’s breakfast time hurry up” positions but the four adult males all came to see what the fuss was about. The senior boy and female ignored it though. Makes me wonder what your cat was “saying” to cause them all to check in!
Glad you and your cats enjoyed it! 😄 Negrito is normally a yapper but this time his voice was different, he was definitely communicating something important! 🐾 Thanks for watching! 💚
