The bond we made over those 11 years was like you mentioned. We went everywhere together..Lowes, boating, golf cart, Dairy Queen, and he checked just about every job with me. The world would be a better place if we all could love unconditionally like a dog.

I’m on my 5th rescue Dog now, my 4th fella got me through the first 9 months of the loss of my Soulmate, if I didn’t have him I don’t know what would have happened to me, it was her birthday 2 days ago and her 3rd anniversary is coming up next week. I believe when I lose a dog, that my previous dog chooses the next Dog I need to adopt, as they need me, and I need them. None of my dog’s have been wrong about my next dog, my current fella had been so badly abused, he is covered in physical scars and emotional one’s. I got him only 2 months after I lost my previous fella to a sudden aggressive cancer, just like I lost my girlfriend. But the high needs of my current fella meant that I had to be very gentle with him, and slow to help build his self confidence and self esteem up, and to gain his trust through calm gentle training and loads of time with him. Which in turn meant that I was benefiting from the time I needed to focus on him, and by being gentle with him, I was also looking after myself, also the joys of him, trusting me little by little. I wrote this as it might be time for you to save another dog, so they can save you too.

I’m 60 years old I’ve had dogs my whole life. About 6 years ago I adopted my first pitbull Let me tell you, hands down this guy is definitely the best friend Ive ever had in my 60 years. He has proven himself to me on several occasions that he has my back, regardless of the circumstances.
My pup has also been there for me through thick and thin for 7.5 years. When I was dieing of alcoholism he would not leave my bed. Yesterday he was diagnosed with cancer and it's now my time to return the favor
Quite a few years ago I went through a really rough patch dealing with shingles. I thought about walking in front of a semi more than once due to the pain. The only reason I didn't do it was my beloved BOXER FLASH. I would look at her in my darkest hours and ask myself " who will find her, how long will it take to find her, if it's days how will she eat, go to the bathroom etc. I realized I couldn't be selfish and leave her alone, she loved me with her entire being. She has been gone over 20yrs and I miss her every day ❤❤❤❤. You and your beat friend are so lucky to have each other. You two continue to have the best life together for as long as you can.
I had my dog for 7 years and he passed away last thanksgiving. I really miss him. He was really my friend. I felt protected with him around. He knew when I had a bad day. He would come and lay on me and follow me everywhere. I live alone and I get really scared at time but I know he is in a better place. God will bring me another friend just like him😢

I adopted dogs and cats, also have 3 shelters for fur babies. And yes, everything he said is true. I have only felt unconditional love from my fur babies. There were times I cry and they will come to comfort me, boop or touch my nose gently. So people can say all they want about us PAWrents, but at least we get to feel such love unlike them bitterooos!😂❤🐶 😺

I’m actually grateful, she acted like a puppy until the very night she died. She was the closest thing to a child I’ll ever have. ❤️ 17 amazing years.

I have two dogs and two cats from age 15 to age 3 and i am really starting to think about that day one of them passes. Really miss my family dog. She was a little beagle. She had a HUGE personality. Never known a dog with so many facial expressions lol. I spent tons of time snuggling with her when she was a puppy. I’d sit on the floor cross legged and let her curl up in a ball on my lap and sleep for hours. Because of that even when she got old and I’d go visit she’d always be such a sweet dog to me. She’d only snuggle like that with me. God bless you Flower.
My dogs have always saved ME. There's a reason they're called man's best friend and they DO know when we are happy or sad and a lot of emotions along the way. Ive been fortunate to have a house dog every single year of my life. Last year my dog got a cat and watching them interact has been so interesting, entertaining and uplifting. I have 7 dogs at the moment. I was an only child and lived on a farm. The animals were my friends. I got my first dog when I was 2 years old. People who have never had a dog don't understand the love your dog has for you, that is of course if you take care of them and treat them well they will risk their own life for you. I had a dog some years ago that jumped in-between me and a snake that I hadn't seen and took the bite that I would have gotten if he hadn't been there and that had nothing to do with feeding him because we were outside in my garden picking strawberries . I love them all so much.

We had to put our Basset Hound Bella to sleep two weeks ago because she was in liver failure. We are still heartbroken.

You are so right, your dog loves you for WAY more than just because you feed him. He loves you because you've shown him kindness, affection and respect. Really miss my family dog. She was a little beagle. She had a HUGE personality. Never known a dog with so many facial expressions lol. I spent tons of time snuggling with her when she was a puppy. I’d sit on the floor cross legged and let her curl up in a ball on my lap and sleep for hours. Because of that even when she got old and I’d go visit she’d always be such a sweet dog to me. She’d only snuggle like that with me.

My dogs have always saved ME. There's a reason they're called man's best friend and they DO know when we are happy or sad and a lot of emotions along the way. Ive been fortunate to have a house dog every single year of my life. Last year my dog got a cat and watching them interact has been so interesting, entertaining and uplifting. Now i love the cat almost as much as the dog does. 😊

I have 7 dogs at the moment. I was an only child and lived on a farm. The animals were my friends. I got my first dog when I was 2 years old. People who have never had a dog don't understand the love your dog has for you, that is of course if you take care of them and treat them well they will risk their own life for you. I had a dog some years ago that jumped in-between me and a snake that I hadn't seen and took the bite that I would have gotten if he hadn't been there and that had nothing to do with feeding him because we were outside in my garden picking strawberries . I love them all so much.
