I'm a police officer and my wife has been a state licensed daycare provider for 25 years. I've rescued many Pitties. They love the kids and the kids love them. The parents are always shocked when they learn the TRUTH about this amazing breed. When they're not the product of bad breeding, raised right, and treated well with respect care and love they'll be loyal and love people to no end. Sadly, I can't say the same for humans!

@emilyfeagin2673 Appreciate the support. It isn't, and it gets tougher by the day. Being a poor white kid and living in the projects, I had a lot of exposure to a lot of things as a child, so that actually benefited me in that respect. As well as a lot of social service experience. My stance on teachers, childcare providers, healthcare providers, and anyone dealing in human services is that they're priceless and often underappreciated and underpaid. My stance on Policing is that there should be a national pre-requisite for officers to have a minimum of 2 years of valid social service experience prior to entering the field and bonus points for additional years. I believe that would change law enforcement drastically for the better. Take care, and stay safe & well. -Jerow

*A HEARTBROKEN mum has spoken of the harrowing moment her six-month-old baby was mauled to death by the family dog.*
Little Kamiko Dao Tsuda-Saelee was playing in her walker at her family home in Las Vegas when the pitbull sunk its teeth into the tot.
Her mother, Layla Tsuda, left the pair alone while she briefly nipped to the toilet.
Moments later she returned to find the dog, named Mana, was savaging her baby girl.
Tsuda managed to stop the attack, but tragically the baby had already suffered major injuries, according to KTNV.
She was rushed to hospital with blunt force trauma to the head but could not be saved.
In a statement devastated Tsuda told KHON-TV: “I have no words to explain my pain.”
She said the family was blindsided by the attack as the pooch, who had been in the family for nine years, had never bitten anyone.
She described the Mana as a good family pet.

*Mother tried to shield children killed in Memphis pit bull attack, family says*
Two children near Memphis, Tennessee, were killed after the family dog attacked them. The mother of those children is in the hospital, as she sustained injuries trying to protect her kids.
Family and friends say 30-year-old Kirstie Bennard fought to protect her children as two of the family’s pit bulls fatally attacked 5-month-old Hollace and 2-year-old Lillie last week.
NewsNation-affiliate WREG spoke to a neighbor who is still in shock over the incident.
“It nearly brought me to tears. It’s just heartbreaking. I can’t even wrap my head around it. My heart goes out to everybody involved,” the neighbor, who preferred to not be identified, said.
The family had owned the pets for more than eight years without incident.
Kirstie’s husband and father of the children, Colby, was not home at the time of the attack. According to his uncle, Jeff Gibson, the mother tried her best to shield her children while the attack lasted for about 10 minutes.
Gibson says she suffered bitemarks all over her body. He posted about the incident on Facebook.
“This attack lasted over 10 minutes, and she never gave up trying to save these babies,” Gibson said. “Now all of us family and friends have to rally around both of them and show them how much they are loved.”
The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office said both dogs have now been euthanized. Bennard is still healing from her injuries in a Memphis hospital. Her condition has been upgraded from critical to stable.

Pit bulls were considered one of the best family dogs up until about the 70’s when pit fighting blew up in popularity. The people in that “industry” damaged the reputation of this breed probably forever. Any dog can be taught to be aggressive and potentially dangerous if you enforce wreckless behavior in them.

Look up headlines of people who tortured their babies to death, or tortured someone else's chiId to death, or tortured dogs and cats to death, or any other kind of animaI. "Human" corruption is at the source of everything. But I'm surprised, having been s.h.a..d. o. w. b,.a, n. n. e. d. many times here, that you are aIIowed to post the same thing over and over again.
That said, I've rescued quite a few of these dogs, in addition to many other kinds, and they've been great. One of them even saved me from a rapist at a campground parking Iot (the rapist waited until he thought I was the onIy one there (didn't know the dog was in the area). Otis (the "pit" buII) didn't even bite the offender. He just showed up, scared the bastard, and then got in between and pushed him away. That's a good thing, because even though he had the right to bite the subhuman, he wouId have been blamed.

Awww. A very hard 7 years, he must’ve thought life with you was pure heaven. A two way blessing. We loved a Pit- mix for about 12 years. SO so hard to say goodbye. They are a greatly misunderstood breed. Very powerful, yes, but little dogs seem more likely to be aggressive (and German Shepards are so protective of their family, they scare me). Ours loved everyone, only wild critters needed to be wary. A huge raccoon tangled one day on a bike ride, dog jogged along. I couldn’t do anything to stop the fight. The raccoon ended up dead and not a mark on Missy. There was a large tree branch out in our windbreak, it ran at a 45 to 60 degree angle to earth. I sat on a boulder out there one day, Missy came puttering along, went by me. I didn’t say anything. She carefree climbed up that large branch to a flat spot 12’ off the ground, looked around for a critter to chase, came down like nothing out of the ordinary. She would do that many more times if I just stood near, pointed and said “squirrel!!” Missy was rather aloof, seemed a little more bonded to Mrs despite I was the one who gave her daily rides, walks, jog by bike, we went everywhere and still, I guess it was a girl bond thing. Will forever miss that girl. Ashes still here four years later. Even the neighbors loved her when tied up in front yard, they had permission to come over and pet her and Missy LOVED that. We were SOC people, same old crap when compared to meeting someone new ! A very social dog. She ended up unwanted by first peeps, but they were good to her, what a blessing for us. Flop on her back, willing to be vulnerable, begging anyone for a belly rub.

When we put him in the car for the drive home, he jumped in my lap and kissed me and my husband all the way home. He is hands down the most affectionate dog I have ever had. My husband and I were temporary guardians of pittie I named BJ while his real owner sorted her life out. It didn't take long for me to determine that the big grey goofball was totally deaf.
He and I were cuddle buddies and I took my afternoon naps on the floor with him, usually using him for a pillow. Our bond grew strong as I patiently taught him hand signs for different things. He learned quickly and soon knew many different signs.
My heart broke the day his "real mom" showed up to reclaim BJ. He
did not want to leave me and was struggling to come to me as she shoved him into her car. I had to turn my back and go into the house so she could get him in the car.
I still think of BJ and I look sometimes at his photo on my phone. He was one of a kind!

Wonderful story. Koby is quite the character and like all dogs and cats deserves a warm, loving home and that is exactly what you have given him. Good people love their pets.

Im a dogwalker/sitter and pitbulls are one of my favorites to take care of because of how loving they can be, they are very emotional dogs and are definitely affected when people are negative to them.
