- Reminiscence is a modpack which aims to, much like the other modpacks of this field, combine the gameplay, aesthetics, and general design philosophies of Alpha and Beta versions with the convenience and creative options provided in Release versions.
The Modpack was made by BBali.

i feel like this is how people should do beta-like mods and modpacks, not completely removing the new stuff people dont like, but reworking them to make them more fun and more in-line with alpha/beta minecraft, great stuff!

This gives me the idea of making a new "timeline" minecraft. Start at the beta and add more and more stuff and updates but different from the current "canon" minecraft game. It would feel like alternate timelines with a different mojang and totally different ways to play and have fun.

Modern one is generic pixel art.
This one uses a limited colot palette and conveys most textures very well.

the keypoint of beta feeling is the lighting! im playing with complementaryunbound shaders, and turned brightness all the way down. this dark is significant, nowadays u don't need torches, u see everything in this fucking cave and dark forest

This modpack will miss the mark like everything that tries to recapture the charm of alpha/beta. By the simple factor of not actually understanding what made those versions special. To put it shortly, it comes down to intrinsic vs. extrinsic motivation. Early versions of alpha especially lacked many of the extrinsic motivators present in minecraft today-It was an empty world, a blank canvas for the player to paint onto, with little else to occupy their attention.

Actually, will the hunger bar be removed and instead food will heal you periodically?
Example: 3 hearts remain, you eat something, ghost hearts represent the health you will regain meanwhile you heal within the next few seconds instead of instant health.
Oh! And sprint could still be a thing, but for only 5+ hearts!

Everyone wants to get back to beta. But it was complete trash and literally needs qol mods to do anything. 1.7.10 is what we need to go back to. Or 1.10.12 semi feature rich without all the useless blocks and mechanics of the new game. Like why do sniffers exist; why do half the blocks exist. They serve one function. Worthless for minecraft.

Saw a playthrough of the pack where they encountered one of Yung’s better desert temples, and there were parkour segments not possible with the beta’s slower movement.
It's a modpack... it uses those mods already duh
