As a dodger fan KIM is a monster he can play almost anywhere on the infield.
If Martinez can get his location under control, he's going to be lights out for a closer one day. DBacks better develop this guy and hang on to him.
Gallen is elite man, he doesn’t mind possibly giving up a few runs early to establish that fastball and work on it the 2nd time through the order. Thats what the greats do.

Pham was an outstanding pickup by the DBacks honestly, I was really excited when I saw that trade happen.

Who would of thought that the Diamondbacks would have a better record than the Padres in August. When you first realized that they were going into the season with Tatis(I know, Tatis served his suspension, but still), Soto, Machado and Bogaerts. The experiment and the inherent risk of bringing them all together hasn’t panned out at all.
No matter the sport, it is a team game at the end of the day. You need more than big names, even if they are massive superstars. You just have to look at the NBA to see proof of that. A team is a sum of its parts. There needs to be balance, consistency and chemistry.
As a Red Sox fan, I thought we’d have struggled more after letting Bogie leave in free agency. But as great as he was in Boston, he wasn’t worth the contract San Diego offered him.

I know it was just the highlights but the Padres seemed to blame (unjustly) the home plate umpire for the strike calls, but the graphic proved them wrong, especially Machado. Not good.
It’s a bad look and it hurts more than helps. Machado is a great team asset when he acts like a man, but he looked like a crybaby. That’s not how you lead.
Now mind you, the highlights don’t show all the pitches. But this Zach Gallen was killing the Padres’ batters all night so I imagine it was his pitching and not the umpire’s calls that determined the game.
