What is irritating is that nothing is ever available on the website, so we cannot purchase items and they continue to raise prices.. I would've bought some items but I was not really willing to sit at my computer and hit refresh forever. For that reason, the resale market is ridiculous. But I will use my Lockit, neverfull mm, speedy b25, pochette accessoire, 6keys pouch and toiletery15 for sure!!!! Ps I use my pochette accessoire crossbody with a gold metal strap and its the best! Im happy to use it many ways during with uncertain time (The toiletery15 is awkward it looks like cosmetic pouch wore crosbody😁)

I hear you! Two bags I want increased. If you get a client advisor they can typically get sold out pieces. I was able to get mini Pochette, Pochette accessories, Toiletry 26 and card holder recto verso all from working with my CA.
I agree. I have a speedy that is 15 years old and it has wear and tear on the handles. Took it to the store on 5th Avenue to see how much it will cost to repair. Too costly so I decided to treat myself to a YSL Lou Lou bag instead. YSL and Miu Miu are my new favorite bags.
Not only did the monogram print go up but so did the Damier ebene pattern in the US. I think in the future I’m going to look at YSL and Gucci leather bags.
I think the percentage is important, if its a low 2% increase, that's basically just inflation. Sometimes I get the feeling they are trying to price out 'regular' people though. The wealthy won't care about a price increase and will continue to buy. The biggest thing that's starting to put me off, is the price increases with the decrease / inconsistency in quality.
I’m 100% dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent these days. My cousin’s partner is their designer in Paris. I love the quality, history and class. Also, for monogram, Fendi is way more unusual and cool looking than LV.
Same here that I brought 2 YSL within a month. Got the Kate red croc embossed and Loulou puffer all black both med. What I love about it, is that you don’t see a lot people wearing it.

I would be happy to pay more if the quality of these bags was also increasing with the price. That’s my issue. Buying newer pieces (for more money) and having the quality suffer in comparison to vintage pieces is not worth it imo! I’d prefer leather pieces as well. Thanks for this Isabelle!
I agree with you on opting for canvas SLG pieces rather than handbags. Although some people find the LV logo printed canvas bags tacky, I honestly liked them before and still do to some extent. But with these extortionate price increases now i feel like its better to opt for well made leather bags from brands like YSL rather than paying the same or even higher prices for canvas.
My thoughts exactly. I feel that the first 3 SLG’s are still worth it. At the end of the day, you will still buy what you really want from LV, so let’s not stress ourselves with this price increase as it is inevitable. These fashion houses do not really care if some are not willing to pay, or will not be able to afford these pieces. Their focus would be on the market that can afford these luxury goods. That’s the reality of it.
I find the Australian prices seem very similar to our Canadian prices. I do not personally own any luxury pieces however I do appreciate the quality and endurance of the classic design. Coach items are my luxury pieces are they serve me very well. I am happy tp keep up with the latest in luxury on your channel. Excellent video. Happy New Year!

Totally agree, I almost sold some last year when I downsize my bags, luckily did not sell any. Although I have not used them since COVID, I don't want my bag to catch a virus.

I don’t think thinking about the past is negative given that it was only a few days ago and given that the percentage increase is ridiculous. I would argue that it is rather practical to consider. It has helped me decide not to purchase some LV items I had my eye on and turn to some other more thoughtful alternative I ended up enjoying more.
I took my LV collection to the next level and instead of buying bags last year, I bought myself stock in LVMH, the parent company of LV (and many other designer brands). I used money in other existing stocks to buy my shares. The stock has risen over the past year. It’s been a good and REAL investment for me. I don’t mind these price increases because it will be a profit for me in the end, and also I don’t feel guilty buying a something from a company I own a stake in, albeit a tiny, tiny piece ♥️.
I have been wanting to buy the pochette accessoire but it's never in stock. I been wanting for 3 Years. I think it's ridiculous. I'm mad at chanel and lv for contant prices increases within 3 years. They are pretty horrible. I've been going to ysl, jimmy choo, Valentino, etc instead

I happened to find a mini pochette in my local Louis Vuitton store by chance before Christmas. I’m so happy I was able to add it to my collection before the price increase! I’ll definitely be holding on to it :)
I was told by a LV sales rep that they do that on purpose to keep make people want to buy the items even more.... shocking to hear from someone that works for them 😲 I think that is completely unfair and not right at all.
Hard to say but I wish quality would be a little better for these price increases to be "reasonable." Unless it is something you really love then maybe it is better to pass?

Price increases will never stop. I am so glad I bought my key pouch for $120 and pochette accessoire for $220. I’ve used the key pouch every single day and it still looks brand new.

Hi Isabelle, I totally agreed that the key cles, mini pochette and pochette accessories are very useful and a must in our collections. Currently, still oos despite price increase and this make more demand on the items. I purchased the large pochette from another seller selling from her multi pochette as I couldn't get my hand on the pochette accessories. The price for the large pochette is much cheaper than pochette accessories. I am glad that the nice and nano speedy didn't have any price increase but I think LV will increase these items in the next increase. Thanks for the wonderful video. 🤩

So agree with all you said here. But I don't see myself buying any more canvas as I had enough & wanna enjoy the ones i already have. With all these price increase, I'm happy to try other designer brands like the YSL. I just recently bought the same YSL loulou shoulder bag you have in beige color too and I'm really impressed with the quality. Plus they do have sale from time to time. The key pouch is the most useful and versatile piece. I use it as my mini wallet, travel card holder plus key fob. I would certainly repurchase in the monogram to keep it in my collection.

Great advice to not get caught up in the %. As much as I love LV, its history, and their forever “classic” factor, I’m at a point in my life at 29 where those things have become irrelevant to me. I have more fun trying to find my own personal classic pieces from other designers that isn’t based on anyone’s stereotypical “must-haves.” The price increases just aren’t worth it and I will not be buying anymore canvas pieces.
First, thanks for taking the time to do this video. I’m in the US, but the info is still relevant. Second, LV and their multiple price increases are out of control. But as bad as LV was, Dior said “hold my beer”. They are charging Chanel prices when they are not Chanel. The resale value on the Lady Diors aren’t even great, so it’s really nonsensical. I can get a bag in great condition for 40-50% of the retail of a new one. The LV increase are annoying because they are increasing retails to make more money when all they really need to do is produce more stock. I’m a retail buyer, so I understand that they don’t want to over saturate the market, but I assure you there is a way to do both. I was contemplating the pochette multi accessoires and I still might given the price is not ridiculous considering you’re getting bags that will still be relevant pulled apart. And that strap can be used o other bags, so I think that bag is worth it. The next bags on my list are from Gucci and YSL, the Jackie bag and the Lou Lou bag. Luckily Dior was never on my list because the only item I wanted was the saddle bag and I thought $3300 US was too expensive then. Now it’s basically $4K. Nah. And that’s on Mary had a little lamb.
I am a bit in shock over the disproportionate price increases for some SLGs. At these prices, leather SLGs from other designers are the way to go for me. LV canvas pieces should not be almost the same price of Hermes leather SLGs.
I’m not really into LV monogram or SLG’s anyway, the one small item on my LV list (a coin purse), didn’t have a price increase & the other canvas LV item on my ‘maybe’ list just had a normal (what you’d expect every year) increase. The key pouch may have increased significantly, however it still retails for less than similar items from other luxury brands. I personally wanted one from a different brand simply because everyone else has the LV one, I still may purchase the LV one as my bash around/worry free item. Let’s face it, they put the prices up because the pre-loved market has proven their customers are more than happy to pay much, much more for theses items, so why wouldn’t they?
Thanks for your video. Luckily I purchased the multi pochette accessory in Dec. I think for LV to make such huge increases during a tough 2020 for many seem so insensitive. I think with these increases, I’ll be looking at Gucci and YSL.

Good video! It sucks that there was another price increase but it is well known luxury brands will always have multiple price increase each year so it doesn't surprise me anymore. I bought all my LV SLGs and most of my LV handbags in the beginning when I started getting into luxury in November 2018. I still have 4 LV bags on my wishlist and luckily none of them had a price increase. They are Artsy MM in damier azur, Alma PM in damier ebene, Odeon MM in monogram noir, and Boite Chapeau Souple PM in damier azur. Hopefully I can cross 2 bags off my wishlist this year.

While it would be nice to have leather over the canvas for similar prices your comparison to that ysl bag was a classic bag vs a trendy design. Louis Vuitton classics retain their value. You would have to compare it to a Chanel leather bag which the price jump is going to be 50%.

I just bought the pochette accessories 2 weeks ago, I had no idea that there was going to be a price increase but now i’m so happy that I was able to get it before the price increase
I love my mini pochette DE but sold my brand new mono at the old price on one of my LV groups as I was disgusted with the increases and wanted to benefit someone else . The prices for these canvas items are insane, especially given the poor workmanship I’ve seen on so many new items recently . As long as people are daft enough to keep buying the prices will spiral . It’s vintage all the way for me now- the quality is SO much better and the canvas thicker/stronger ,but I agree with you - none of us needs any more of this stuff . This pandemic has highlighted that health and family matter so much more than ‘things’ .

The pochette Métis price you mentioned in this video is not correct. It’s not $3000 but $2000. I just got one in the mail today and I payed $2100 with taxes. Am I missing something..?
At the very least, LVs price increases are never as bad as Chanel’s increases. Thankfully the only other LV bag that I want to add to my collection didn’t get a price increase! Great video!

I was still buying at the first half of 2020 but not any more because there’s no social occasions I can wear these things to now, everyone is in their casual clothes, even PJs.
I think the prices on SLGs are crazy high and not worth it. Spending my money only for handbags now. Luxury SLGs seem ridiculous to me now (but i have never understand the hype on SLGs all these while haha)
Just FYI, the Pochette Accessoires is no longer considered a pouch/SLG. It was moved to the handbag section of the website a few months ago. I believe that’s why the price went up so much. As you said in the vid, all the other pouch-like purses and mini bags from LV are much more expensive. I think eventually it will as expensive as the Felicie Pochette.
I'm so glad that I watched this video! I wanted to see the DE key pouch price in USD & saw that they're finally back in stock! Needless to say, the price increase didn't deter me from purchasing lol. Resale was going for $485 so I'd gladly pay the extra 20%. Thanks Isabelle! 💕

My experience with LV canvas bags is much better than leather. For one I don’t have to worry about babying them, plus I try to be more cruelty free in my luxury shopping so the canvas is a wonderful alternative and it’s beautiful.
Love this balanced video! In the US neverfull went up 40usd which is not bad. I think neverfull if someone uses it a lot is still worth it although I prefer goyard totes. I don’t personally get the monogram PM craze. I got it in empreinte and actually wish I’d gotten the YSL puffy bag instead 😀. I love the toiletry pouches in all their overpriced glory. Still need the 26! One bag I kick myself for not buying before all the increases is the Capucines. Over 5K USD for LV is hard to swallow. Maybe I’ll get lucky on fashionphile.
I bought the pouchette in Paris in 1993 for 150 franc which the exchange rate was quite good. I think I got the bag for $125 dollar with no tax when this was bag was on 6 month waiting list in USA. I still have the pouchette in mint condition and agree that with others that you are paying for quality of the bags but the increase is outrageous...
My husband said to me at this price point would an extra hundred really matter if you really want it. I say yes! I also love all 3 toiletry pouches possibly the only slg I dont regrets purchasing.

Oh thank God i got my pochette accessories last year and a few items last year. The pochette accessories Is so hard to get but so happened i am in the store when the booking for order is opened and waited for 4 months, got it on boxing day at last. With the new price for the Pochette Accessories, i don't think i would want to purchase it. For now, i am contented with all my purchases for i had made for LV last year. i am eyeing the multipochette since it was first release but didn’t get the chance to buy (always sold out) from €1250 up to €1600 in a year is too much for me. even though i really want to buy it i don’t think i can afford to spend that much for the quality of the canvas.

I bought 2 vintage pieces last year and I’m adding a Eva clutch this year. I love the vintage versus my newer pieces.

I don’t think thinking about the past is negative given that it was only a few days ago and given that the percentage increase is ridiculous. I would argue that it is rather practical to consider. It has helped me decide not to purchase some LV items I had my eye on and turn to some other more thoughtful alternative I ended up enjoying more.
I took my LV collection to the next level and instead of buying bags last year, I bought myself stock in LVMH, the parent company of LV (and many other designer brands). I used money in other existing stocks to buy my shares. The stock has risen over the past year. It’s been a good and REAL investment for me. I don’t mind these price increases because it will be a profit for me in the end, and also I don’t feel guilty buying a something from a company I own a stake in, albeit a tiny, tiny piece ♥️.

I have been wanting to buy the pochette accessoire but it's never in stock. I been wanting for 3 Years. I think it's ridiculous. I'm mad at chanel and lv for contant prices increases within 3 years. They are pretty horrible. I've been going to ysl, jimmy choo, Valentino, etc instead

I happened to find a mini pochette in my local Louis Vuitton store by chance before Christmas. I’m so happy I was able to add it to my collection before the price increase! I’ll definitely be holding on to it :)

Price increases will never stop. I am so glad I bought my key pouch for $120 and pochette accessoire for $220. I’ve used the key pouch every single day and it still looks brand new.

Hi Isabelle, I totally agreed that the key cles, mini pochette and pochette accessories are very useful and a must in our collections. Currently, still oos despite price increase and this make more demand on the items. I purchased the large pochette from another seller selling from her multi pochette as I couldn't get my hand on the pochette accessories. The price for the large pochette is much cheaper than pochette accessories. I am glad that the nice and nano speedy didn't have any price increase but I think LV will increase these items in the next increase. Thanks for the wonderful video. 🤩

So agree with all you said here. But I don't see myself buying any more canvas as I had enough & wanna enjoy the ones i already have. With all these price increase, I'm happy to try other designer brands like the YSL. I just recently bought the same YSL loulou shoulder bag you have in beige color too and I'm really impressed with the quality. Plus they do have sale from time to time. The key pouch is the most useful and versatile piece. I use it as my mini wallet, travel card holder plus key fob. I would certainly repurchase in the monogram to keep it in my collection.

Great advice to not get caught up in the %. As much as I love LV, its history, and their forever “classic” factor, I’m at a point in my life at 29 where those things have become irrelevant to me. I have more fun trying to find my own personal classic pieces from other designers that isn’t based on anyone’s stereotypical “must-haves.” The price increases just aren’t worth it and I will not be buying anymore canvas pieces.

First, thanks for taking the time to do this video. I’m in the US, but the info is still relevant.
Second, LV and their multiple price increases are out of control. But as bad as LV was, Dior said “hold my beer”. They are charging Chanel prices when they are not Chanel. The resale value on the Lady Diors aren’t even great, so it’s really nonsensical. I can get a bag in great condition for 40-50% of the retail of a new one.
The LV increase are annoying because they are increasing retails to make more money when all they really need to do is produce more stock. I’m a retail buyer, so I understand that they don’t want to over saturate the market, but I assure you there is a way to do both.
I was contemplating the pochette multi accessoires and I still might given the price is not ridiculous considering you’re getting bags that will still be relevant pulled apart. And that strap can be used o other bags, so I think that bag is worth it.
The next bags on my list are from Gucci and YSL, the Jackie bag and the Lou Lou bag. Luckily Dior was never on my list because the only item I wanted was the saddle bag and I thought $3300 US was too expensive then. Now it’s basically $4K. Nah. And that’s on Mary had a little lamb.
I am a bit in shock over the disproportionate price increases for some SLGs. At these prices, leather SLGs from other designers are the way to go for me. LV canvas pieces should not be almost the same price of Hermes leather SLGs.

I’m not really into LV monogram or SLG’s anyway, the one small item on my LV list (a coin purse), didn’t have a price increase & the other canvas LV item on my ‘maybe’ list just had a normal (what you’d expect every year) increase. The key pouch may have increased significantly, however it still retails for less than similar items from other luxury brands. I personally wanted one from a different brand simply because everyone else has the LV one, I still may purchase the LV one as my bash around/worry free item. Let’s face it, they put the prices up because the pre-loved market has proven their customers are more than happy to pay much, much more for theses items, so why wouldn’t they?
Also how do you maintain your mini pochette? I usually just leave mine in the bag but the vachetta tag is already quite worn :(
Thanks for your video. Luckily I purchased the multi pochette accessory in Dec. I think for LV to make such huge increases during a tough 2020 for many seem so insensitive. I think with these increases, I’ll be looking at Gucci and YSL.

I also appreciate the insights about the price increases, if certain bags are worth it, to not get too hung up on the percent increase necessarily, etc. ❤️😊
Good video! It sucks that there was another price increase but it is well known luxury brands will always have multiple price increase each year so it doesn't surprise me anymore. I bought all my LV SLGs and most of my LV handbags in the beginning when I started getting into luxury in November 2018. I still have 4 LV bags on my wishlist and luckily none of them had a price increase. They are Artsy MM in damier azur, Alma PM in damier ebene, Odeon MM in monogram noir, and Boite Chapeau Souple PM in damier azur. Hopefully I can cross 2 bags off my wishlist this year.

While it would be nice to have leather over the canvas for similar prices your comparison to that ysl bag was a classic bag vs a trendy design. Louis Vuitton classics retain their value. You would have to compare it to a Chanel leather bag which the price jump is going to be 50%.

I love my mini pochette DE but sold my brand new mono at the old price on one of my LV groups as I was disgusted with the increases and wanted to benefit someone else . The prices for these canvas items are insane, especially given the poor workmanship I’ve seen on so many new items recently . As long as people are daft enough to keep buying the prices will spiral . It’s vintage all the way for me now- the quality is SO much better and the canvas thicker/stronger ,but I agree with you - none of us needs any more of this stuff . This pandemic has highlighted that health and family matter so much more than ‘things’ .
Hate the price increases! But what’s more irritating is that they are hard to get online. With the pandemic, I don’t want to go into the stores even though they are only 30-min drive away from where I live. Glad that I already have the staple pieces. Agree with you on your choices of the top three SLGs plus pochette accessoire as a bag.
Considering these items are always sold out on the website, the price increases make sense for LV (not necessarily the consumer).

The pochette Métis price you mentioned in this video is not correct. It’s not $3000 but $2000. I just got one in the mail today and I payed $2100 with taxes. Am I missing something..?

I have the mini pochette from a few years ago and just got the TP 26. It was in stock in store and I have been looking to get one of those for a while, it was on my list.
I didn't purchase anything from LV last year and I don't plan to get anything this year either...I'm happy with my key pouch, croisette and neverfull!

So happy I scored the Pochette Accessoires a month ago for the old price (EUR 480). Now it retails for EUR 600.

I was still buying at the first half of 2020 but not any more because there’s no social occasions I can wear these things to now, everyone is in their casual clothes, even PJs.

I think the prices on SLGs are crazy high and not worth it. Spending my money only for handbags now. Luxury SLGs seem ridiculous to me now (but i have never understand the hype on SLGs all these while haha)

Just FYI, the Pochette Accessoires is no longer considered a pouch/SLG. It was moved to the handbag section of the website a few months ago. I believe that’s why the price went up so much. As you said in the vid, all the other pouch-like purses and mini bags from LV are much more expensive. I think eventually it will as expensive as the Felicie Pochette.
Had many LV bags but never used them often enough, I don’t find them user friendly unless you add a bag liner.

My experience with LV canvas bags is much better than leather.
For one I don’t have to worry about babying them, plus I try to be more cruelty free in my luxury shopping so the canvas is a wonderful alternative and it’s beautiful.

Love this balanced video! In the US neverfull went up 40usd which is not bad. I think neverfull if someone uses it a lot is still worth it although I prefer goyard totes. I don’t personally get the monogram PM craze. I got it in empreinte and actually wish I’d gotten the YSL puffy bag instead 😀. I love the toiletry pouches in all their overpriced glory. Still need the 26! One bag I kick myself for not buying before all the increases is the Capucines. Over 5K USD for LV is hard to swallow. Maybe I’ll get lucky on fashionphile.

I bought the pouchette in Paris in 1993 for 150 franc which the exchange rate was quite good. I think I got the bag for $125 dollar with no tax when this was bag was on 6 month waiting list in USA. I still have the pouchette in mint condition and agree that with others that you are paying for quality of the bags but the increase is outrageous...
My husband said to me at this price point would an extra hundred really matter if you really want it. I say yes! I also love all 3 toiletry pouches possibly the only slg I dont regrets purchasing.

Oh thank God i got my pochette accessories last year and a few items last year. The pochette accessories Is so hard to get but so happened i am in the store when the booking for order is opened and waited for 4 months, got it on boxing day at last. With the new price for the Pochette Accessories, i don't think i would want to purchase it. For now, i am contented with all my purchases for i had made for LV last year. i am eyeing the multipochette since it was first release but didn’t get the chance to buy (always sold out) from €1250 up to €1600 in a year is too much for me. even though i really want to buy it i don’t think i can afford to spend that much for the quality of the canvas.
