The lead guitarist has been studying classical piano since age 3, and the vocalist has been studying classical ballet since age 2. Please enjoy the graceful movements of the singers. Many Japanese musicians have such careers. Please enjoy.
Every member of lovebites can be seen as virtuoso, Haruna is a master of her kit, from the double kick to her highly technical symbol work, Fami is very much the prodigy, and has proved herself to be so 💯, Midori is a speed demon and a shred master, she is also very adept on a piano, Asami's vocals are, imo, highly addictive and have a 💯 unique sound, and Miyako is the cherry 🍒 on the cake, a musical genius in every sense of the word, multi instrumentalist, song writing and composition skills. As a whole, they have the perfect combination. ❤ this band so much. 🤘🎤🎸🎹🥁🐺
Only very few bands make it, to prove, that excellent Metal can get along very well with excellent Classical music. LOVEBITES is one of those few bands. Admitted: LOVEBITES have the big advantage, that they consist of 5 geniuses of music, not just of 1 or 2. "Outrageous", actually. 😁😉
@@inalectexperiences You are welcome! 🙃 _Both_ Classical music (Vivaldi, J.S.Bach) _and_ Metal are "my" genres, and whenever Miyako writes a song combining both, I am so fucking grateful! 😄🙃 "Swan song" and "Lost in the garden", for instance. And I know enough compositions from J.S.Bach (as I learned violin in my childhood), that I believe, that J.S.Bach would _intensely_ write Metal songs if he lived today. 😁 He was a "mathematican", using musical notes as "programming code". Some of Bach's compositions you could even play _backwards_ , and it would still sound great. 😁 A _genius_ , like Miyako. In my opinion, Miyako is "the (female, and Japanese) J.S.Bach of our time". And: I wonder, how some LOVEBITES songs would sound, if played by a symphony orchestra. Surely _overwhelming_ , with an own, deeply moving impact.
Thanks for coming back to this. Chopin (pronounced Show-pan) was a Polish-born Romantic-era (1800’s) classical composer and piano virtuoso who lived most of his life in France. He is considered one of the great classical composers, specializing in highly technical works for piano. "Etude" is French for "study". Chopin's Etudes were written as "studies", or lessons, for his students. They ended up being popular things for professional pianists to play as part of their concerts, in part to show off their skills. This is one of the more famous ones and is considered one of the most difficult ones. Miyako, who composes a lot of Lovebites’ music, is a trained classical pianist, and was originally considering a career in classical music (other options included medicine and teaching). When she was 18, she picked up the guitar, and is now (quite obviously) an elite-level guitarist. She particularly likes the Romantic Era classical composers like Debussy, Dvořák and Chopin, as well as her stated favorite, Russian romantic composer Rachmaninoff. She composed “Swan Song” using elements of the New World Symphony (Dvořák) and Chopin’s Revolutionary Etude (official name Étude Opus 10, No. 12 in C minor). For this performance, she actually played the Etude as the intro, but it’s not normally included in their shows.
Miyako (lead guitarist/pianist at stage left) is a generational talent who is a virtuoso on BOTH the guitar and piano. She has been classically-trained on the piano since the age of 3. Miyako also composed & arranged "Swan Song" and this track is a neoclassical metal masterpiece. Throughout the song, you can hear motifs from Romantic-era composers Chopin (intro, main riff, solo) and Dvořák (Chorus). Miyako's piano intro is Chopin's "Étude Op. 10, No. 12 in C minor", aka the "Revolutionary Étude". BTW, Chopin is pronounced as "show-pan"

The famous FOAK performance! The Piano was perfect on this one, Foak stands for Five of a Kind, the name of the dvd/bluray. You will love "Holy War" from the same concert.
A gentle correction if I may, Chopin, a 19th century Polish composer, known for the difficulty of his compositions for piano, is pronounced Show - Pan. The particular piece Miyako is playing as the intro is the Étude Op. 10, No. 12, which was composed as a practice piece for students by Chopin, and emphasises the use of the left hand. Many of these classical piano pieces that Miyako plays are made harder for her due to her small hands. Another similar combination of classical and metal from Lovebites is 'Lost In The Garden' for which Miyako plays Franz Liszt's La Campanella as an introduction. This is another notoriously difficult piece to play well. Needless to say Miyako does so with flying colours. Also watch vocalist Asami, especially towards the end when Miyako is back on the piano. Asami trained as a ballet dancer before becoming a singer, and she is referencing the Dying Swan from Tchaikovsky's Swan Lake in her movements. A footnote, the 'Star Cymbals' are an Haruna 'trade mark' and can also be seen on her kit when she was with her previous band Destrose. They are old cymbals that are no longer playable that she has had turned into stars and which she will spin during the concert.
Not only better sound quality and detail but also precise camera shots and focus. Like focusing on Miyako solo and Midori with transparent image during solo.
I'm flattered that you used my thumbnail! This is a wonderful piece of music and I agree the mix is really good. Love when Miyako's piano and guitar skills are showcased in the same songs. I enjoyed your reaction. I had the same question about the star cymbals - they are decorative, not functional. Consider doing a reaction to The Warning - Dull Knives Cut Better, perhaps the version from The Warning Cave. - G
Thank you for taking the time to react to this version. It was great to see you appreciate this version. As you like the inclusion of piano you should check out their Frozen Serenade. You'll love it! 🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Yeah, the new concert is, for my taste, mixed a bit too drum heavy. I know everybody loves Haruna but especially on this song the piano is nearly noticeable and on some other songs even the guitars often are a bit to low (again, for my taste at least)
Despite what some fans say about the official live performance of Swan Song vs this one there is actually nothing wrong with the official version mixing because the band themselves (in the colour commentary of the concert dvd) that they intentionally make subtle changes to the sound and mixing between the songs every time they play it live because they don’t want to make it sound like the exact same way every time they play their songs and giving the fans a different experience every time hence why the piano was lower in the mix for the official video and louder in this one because Miyako wanted Midori’s guitar higher in the official version compared to it being lower in this version (their words not mine)
The lead guitarist has been studying classical piano since age 3, and the vocalist has been studying classical ballet since age 2. Please enjoy the graceful movements of the singers. Many Japanese musicians have such careers. Please enjoy.
Thank you for the information! They are mind blowing! 🤘
A masterpiece song. Miyako is multi instrumental - Piano, guitar, bass, and drums and maybe ithers I'm unaware of. FYI Chopin is pronounced (Show Pan)
Yes agreed! and thank you! 🤘
To me, this concert has the best sound of all their concerts. It’s really well mixed.
Agreed! I really enjoyed this mix! 🤘

LOVEBITES - Swan Song lyrics:
If this was the last day you could live on this earth

It’s better to fail than not do anything at all
It is not the length, but depth of life that counts
Oh brave soldier

Valor to those who died in battle to Valhalla
Believe what’s in your soul
For death will come to all
You shall rest peacefully in God’s Heaven

You are so graceful

You are so beautiful
Sing me your sweet song
The legend of the swan
If you’ve never hoped, you’ve never been through despair
Ignorance is bliss, it’s easier to never care
You might think it’s meaningless to sacrifice a life
Sometimes the life of one can save so many more
Oh brave soldier

also you got both versions with Fami and with Miho
