Now that I think about it, I think they repurposed 1.6's style of viewpunch into that "extra" version (both utilize "SetViewPunchAngles", which instantly sets the punch to a specified angle, then decays at a certain speed) This also explains why it often looks like the bullet is hitting under the crosshair in Negev's case, as the punch is instant, in addition to the firerate being fast, so the punch upwards visually outweighs the smoother decay, even if it technically is still fully resetting before the next shot.

I think it's pretty apparent that removing movement penalties breaks the game, as the tension between being mobile and being accurate is a pretty foundational part of CS's premise, laying out the juxtaposition between peeking and holding angles, but I'd be interested to see what the game would look like just without the innaccuracy specifically. It's probably still worse in practice, but I think you could make an argument in theory that spray patterns, movement spread and range drop offs alone are sufficient to balance the game. -Hrairoo53

I disagree. Movement inaccuracy is the thing that affected this video the most. I would be interested to see, however, if there was a way to minimize all other inaccuracy except for the movement inaccuracy. Would be a fun project to create a mod that attempts to balance the weapons with far less RNG.

Disagree, counterstrike is about controlling randomness to edge the odds in your favour. Being able to do this is one skill amongst many others in counter-strike

Person B has ok aim and only manages to aim at the side of a person's head. Person A will win the fight most of the time with randomness. Without it, it's even. A person with an ak will be at a disadvantage peeking long a if there is an awper with randomness. Without randomness, it's a much more even fight. This is about controlling randomness by taking smart bets.

I mean I can understand recoil, but shooting an AK is not like that You never at any point have to look at the ground to hit someone in front of you because you are rapid firing. In the game you don't have to look down to hold the gun pointed at the enemy because of recoiled, what you have to do is look down so the gun doesn't point at the enemy but at the ground because the bullet exit from the muzzle at an angle, which is wierd since the gun is new (just bought this round for example) (and I know it's just a game and that's part of the gameplay and fun, but since we are trying to be realistic it's kinda hard to explain why we do that in the game (at least I couldn't find a realistic reason other then broken gun)
Also if you are walking you can't shoot straight apparently. And since they are trained militia (at least anti-terrorist are) They should be able to walk (and maybe even run) and shoot accurately (1 tapping) Instead in the game if you are walking and you shoot you will probably miss

And a trained soldier can, somewhat reliably, hit an enemy in close range with full auto (it is actually easy to hit an enemy with a rifle on full auto than it is to "spray" him with a pistol.)

I remember when I used to play CS 1.6 and every time I had the G3SG1, I used a bit of tape. That weapon was insanely accurate without scoping, good times.
The most important for me is that if it had no acceleration, even when you turn it off it's still there, if it was always the same it would be way better to aim and probably reward even more more skilled players.
I don't think it'll matter if 1 taps are still possible XD Maybe if getting shot at doesn't decrease velocity, the guns were half as strong, there was no objective, the awp had scope-in time, and every one camped a head glitch for what's basically a deathmatch round.

I think that your conclusions that removing randomness would necessarily make game bad is very dependent of the way removing is done. If you remodel game to support easyer, more natural paterns (optimize weapons and all) than you would probabli get cod like experience, which means so much lower learning curve and overall noob friendlier game, you have to have hundreds of hours in cs to be around avrage, and literally practice to become good. I know that cs fans think randomness is crucial part (which is) of the game, but my opinion is that it would be still very fun or even funnier.

I honestly just wish there was a way to make my crosshair keep up with the spray pattern in CS. When you play other games that program you to keep your crosshair on the enemy and go back to CS it’s hard to break the habit.

Kerovski Less to do with skill, when my brain has been programmed for years to think, “Crosshair on enemy.” and that anytime my shots leave my crosshair that means I’m doing something I’m not supposed to. This is actually an hvh (hacker vs hacker) gamemode, aptly called no spread. Everyone uses aks, because the firerate is good enough to wipe out a crowd, but it also 1 taps to the head. No spread is pretty simple, everybody bhops at light speed, 1 tapping literally everything that moves, whoever was out first wins.

I was hoping they kept recoil in. TheWarOwl always takes ideas too far for my taste. As boring as it may be, I love seeing how more minor changes impact the experience. Even if this video only removed movement inaccuracy, I'd love to see the effect.

I think that your conclusions that removing randomness would necessarily make game bad is very dependent of the way removing is done. If you remodel game to support easyer, more natural paterns (optimize weapons and all) than you would probabli get cod like experience, which means so much lower learning curve and overall noob friendlier game, you have to have hundreds of hours in cs to be around avrage, and literally practice to become good. I know that cs fans think randomness is crucial part (which is) of the game, but my opinion is that it would be still very fun or even funnier.

I honestly just wish there was a way to make my crosshair keep up with the spray pattern in CS.
When you play other games that program you to keep your crosshair on the enemy and go back to CS it’s hard to break the habit.
You can use cl_crosshair_recoil 1 but only works with sv_cheats 1

Kerovski Less to do with skill, when my brain has been programmed for years to think, “Crosshair on enemy.” and that anytime my shots leave my crosshair that means I’m doing something I’m not supposed to.
I’m not saying I want the patterns to change, that is the actual skill part of the game, I just wish my crosshair kept up with it, because trying to undo years of playstyle from other games isn’t easy.

Movement inaccuracy would need the randomness removed too. Maybe there could be some sort of sway of your weapon as you walk.
@@gyroninjamodder There already sort of is with the console command cl_wpn_sway_scale. Problem is that the default value is 1.6 which is very low and not easily noticeable unlike CSS' value of 3.

@@gyroninjamodder Yeah, you mentioned sway so I brought up the command. Sway is meant to be visual as in Counter-Strike bullets aren't shot directly from the gun. You probably wanted a kind of sway that affects where your bullet moves, but that isn't in Counter-Strike as of yet.
This actually sounds like a really good idea. I hate recoil/spread and I wish there were games that were completely skill based. Hopefully this feature gets released in an update. I would love to see a game where all weapons are 100% accurate.

This is actually an hvh (hacker vs hacker) gamemode, aptly called no spread. Everyone uses aks, because the firerate is good enough to wipe out a crowd, but it also 1 taps to the head. No spread is pretty simple, everybody bhops at light speed, 1 tapping literally everything that moves, whoever was out first wins.

What does that even mean??? Muscle memory literally translates to subconscious memory which means its a thing that kicks in by non-conscious means.
Other than that, muscle memory means all in CS type of games. Without proper muscle memory buildup, you wont go too far in competitive environment.
