Some of the thinner walls and materials should definitely be wallbangable in CSGO. Correctly tracing your targets as they hid behind cover was part of the fun in CS 1.6.
You are right. Value should make more walls wallbangable. Probably they are afraid of hackers taking the advantage.
Agreed. It also removes the randomness element that prefiring while turning corners brings, which is honestly more RNG and less fun than correct wallbang tracing. Particularly, penetration of any and all corners as well as thin walls like nuke hut should be increased
Late cs 1.6 meta was memorizing 1000 obscure wallbang lineups. was more tedious than fun. early cs 1.6 was fun though when it was about spraying where you knew someone would be or ran to.
Valorant have that go there and dont put this in csgo thanks i played cs 1.6 again and i realise it was just nostalgia about this game csgo is way better

ive been watching since ~2015 as well, but whats different for me is that WarOwl actually got me into csgo

Pp bizon and auto would be insane with this. If there’s only distance falloff for damage I would think the high bullet capacity and spam would work just as good as the Negev. Also, why weren’t you guys trying to instakill each other from the spawn at the start of rounds, or at least tagging?
That's the first thought I had too. Why weren't they just trying to negev spam spawns across the map?
Or spam chokepoint entries before taking up a position (spamming top ladder nuke a site at the start, the t entrance to garden in overpass for Ts etc)

This was actually a bug in CODMW when the AS Val was introduced, they messed up the penetration value of the ammo conversion and it just ignored walls
What about counter strike without sound? I think it'd be interesting to see if/how the meta changes when everyone has less information to work with

The wallbang situation you mentioned is also how some cod maps are designed. You see this building in a good spot, but it is made out of wood. You know what that means....
And if you play old COD maps nowadays you soon realizes how broken the meta is with spamming walls. For example MW2 Terminal or Rust, you just have to spam certain spots to consistently get kills.

@@nilon5327 Cod4 Crossfire was the worst map in terms of wallbangs. I knew all the lineups (that were not difficult to be fair) and would routinely get multi kills through walls on TDM servers. Always was called a hacker, although all did was shooting my AK at the same spot

You can still do T side tunnels/sewer to the CT entrance to B site though. And sewer to barrels.
Nuke A site to Trophy is possible too. Same with vent to ramp, and Heaven to T roof, Heaven to Silo, and a few others

yeah, but like you said before, it's only with a headshot, so now in this mode you could potentially aim lower and hit a bodyshot

6:46 Valorant HAS clear visual indicators for every object to show if your shot penetrates for wall bangs. It makes it easy for you to find them for any new object or map.
Not to mention spamming is generally a terrible idea in val vs CS cause every gun is from loony tunes after 3 bullets. I think the point was to just shit on the game
But it's unrealistic, there is no logic to "the bullet can't go through the wall so there shouldn't be a hole there"

that's why I loved old cod4/mw2, I could just wallbang people, because I knew default positions very well, could plant the bomb and just listen for someone defusing and wallbang them, such memories, great times. the newer ones are just like CSGO where you can wallbang but it's not as effective, especially since your health regens on cod.
You should play assault sometimes. It is a great hostage map.

I think its the other way round. Valorant's wall banging mechanic is much more intuitive than csgo. Nearly all of the walls that are wallbangable are made of wood, stone is wallbangable occasionaly and only when its thin, and metal is not wallbangable at all. Then you have high penetration weapons that can wallbang wood and stone always, and metal is the new stone.
In csgo, you sometimes have brick walls that are wallbangable, like banana inferno. Somestimes metal is wallbangable, like any car on any map, double metal doors, but only with certain weapons. I think cs is much harder to figure out if something is possibly wall bangable. The only reason why it feels like valorant needs more work to figure out if something is wallbangable is because there are so many wall banging spots that even thought its clearer, theres just more to figure out
