I’m sure Freewing will come out with something better at some point, but this is Freewing’s finest work. It’s a blast to fly, but it’s so darn pretty with all the attention to detail, it’s the only plane that has its own stand in the den.
Jeff, I would love to ask you some questions about your planes. I have only flown parkzone and eflite but would love to venture out to freewing or fms but worried….are you on ig?
@@Hughejazshole I started out with Eflite and Dynam. I got a few of the ArrowsRC as well, but the ultimate goal was to get good enough to fly Freewing and Flightline. (Flightline P-38 was at the top of the list) I didn’t discover FMS until a year ago. Started with their Yak 130. For the price, the easiness to fly, and the best gear in the market for a 70mm, it was a no-brainer. And from there everything I bought from FMS was even better. There was a day last Fall, one 6s battery left. On the table- FMS Bae Hawk, 1500mm a-10, Futura v3, and Eflite’s 90mm Viper. That was a great day- there wasn’t a wrong or a bad choice. (I went with the Futura. LOL!)
I bought my Raptor in February 2019. I have soooo many Freewing jets, but this is my favorite, so far. I waited a while to put it togother, because I didn't have the space in my hanger. I now have 26 flights on this bird. I wanted to chime in here because, this is actually a very good starter EDF. I saw a buddy out at the field ith the F-86, as his first EDF. that was my first EDF, and I understand the attraction to that plane. However, if you want the BEST starter EDF, this is the one. To quote Mahammad Ali, it "floats like a butterfly, and stings like a bee"!. Hands down, the easiest flying Freewing jet that I have ever owned. Go For It!!!
@@Haveablessedday820 If you are new, then a turbine engine would not be where you start. You can certainly put one in, but would need to do a lot of work to make it possible. Sorry about that. But I set her up as per the manual and haven't touched those setting since. I fly on low rate aileron by the book and only ever go to mid rate. And then I go full out with the elevator rates to get the great high alpha action when I want it. She really is a big trainer in that, she'd be hard to truly set up wrong. She wants to float
Thank You for the info . I have not flown my F22 yet . I am a little nervous about the maiden . So I have been looking for all the info that is on RUclips . Love your Video , Keep up the great work . THX BEN V.
You did not mention the use of Loctite. I go through my model and remove every single screw and set screw and Loctite it. I had a fan come loose on my F-16 because it was not locked I did at the factory. It was a dead stick landing. It destroyed the fan. Blades almost came through the foam. While locked are you doing all the set screws in the landing gear, I found the electric motor mount screws on the retract it self had come loose. I removed all of the retracts to do these screws as well.
@@el_diablito At 12:48 in this video we refer to the manual which shows you which holes on both the servo and control linkage the pushrods should attach to. Elevator is the second hole on the servo side and the 1st hole on the control surface side.

Looks like very similar to what Hobbyking sells, they have them in a couple different sizes, really like the one I have. *if* they even still sell them.
completely up to you. This is a PNP (Plug and Play) model so it comes with everything except a receiver and battery. You atleast need a 6 channel receiver (throttle, aileron, elevator, rudder, flaps, landing gear)
I believe this jet to be a great 2nd jet, and the only reason I cant say first jet is most don't go for this size/price for a first jet when options like the Avanti exist.
6 Channels is all you need for this bird but I am not sure which radio you are referring too, and a 2100mAh lipo will not be enough. Recommend a 5000mAH 6s or larger for this.
I have the latest Ultra Performance version. The AR8020T receiver binds fine, but the ESC keeps beeping and no controls are working. Can someone tell me the channel assignment? This version has a wire labelled as “Reverse Break”. I plugged that into channel 7. Am I doing something wrong? The manual is pretty much useless in this regard. Thanks!
Very well built you put Dynam & LX to shame, most of my fleet are Eflight, I only have 1 complaint/question where can I get ordinance for this and the V2 F-35? Great video James you can message me on Instagram (rcintheworks) thank's 😉👍🛩
By nature, the F-35 and F-22 maintain stealth with their ordinance tucked away, so none were made for either of these (while knowing some variations do have loadouts). But many have modeled some. You can buy the railing systems from us and ordnance from other jets and modify it yourself. But ordnance on any EDF jet will only add more drag
@@MotionRC I knew that duh lol steatlh Bombers are tucked away and I see the details in them so my badd James, I like the edf's with ordinance for looking at I do remove them when I fly 😉👍

Can the horizontal stabs be used for roll input also? would be awesome to allow independent movement for ridiculous roll.
With the right transmitter mix, anything is possible

Would love it if it had doors for the main landing gear and doors to show the ordnance
What happened with the wrinkling at 9:45 underneath the vertical stab
Wow build vid already
good
Everything with the build is great, except for the receiver location. Obviously, FW took this as an afterthought.
