This is the first time (so far) that Geoff has sung the harmonies without showing the "other" Geoffs. This was Arranged, Produced, Performed, and Edited by Geoff Castellucci. He's only done one cover with other singers and they were prominent in the video, he would never hide them. He is phenomenal, great reaction!!
He never fails to surprise and amaze me. He always does something really different to the original while keeping the integrity of the original. Sometimes it takes me a few times to appreciate the changes but this time it got me hooked right away. His transitions and ability to pace the build is amazing
The swaps to a relative minor when it was originally Major, relative Major when it was minor, and the jazz chord harmony in the middle shows Geoff's arranging and theory knowledge abilities.
Geoff showing off more of his acting (and piano) skills here on top of the incredible voice, thanks perhaps to his working for Disney in the past. Geoff always makes a song his own. And invariably does his own backing singing, to show off his arranging skills which I would argue are second to none. Captivating is a very good word for Geoff. I will admit to be totally obsessed by him now. Some get goosebumps, some get chills, I tend to be reduced to tears. Often. Mostly it's all done himself, sometimes VP members witll help out. I recommend Shenandoah, for a beautiful sound and visuals.

My one dream is for those 2 to meet, discuss musical arrangements and do a collaboration. Drawing on the analogy about versions of SoS, I'd say Tommy's version is the lamentation over the loss, remembering his friend.
I was 10 when Simon and Garfunkel wrote this. My granddaughter introduced me to Disturbeds' cover. Now Geoff. Yes, it's all Geoff all the time. We don't see his clones but you hear them harmonizing.
Such a beautiful cover. So melancholy and sad, but there is a light at the end of a long, dark tunnel. This song literally touches my soul and makes me cry every time I listen to it. There just are no words to properly describe how it makes me feel. I heard some one say that the original was the warning, Disturbed's cover was the anger, and Geoff's was the sadness and reflection that comes after.

Because they are short you can do them both in one sitting. Please do them.
So far, everything on his personal channel features Geoff singing backup for himself. (Don't forget his arranging skills! He's top of class there, too). Check the newest one for VP, dropped last Friday - Golden Hour. It's a complete change of pace and stunning.
