I love Reid Park Zoo. It's a smaller zoo, but still enjoyable. I was just there at the end of June and hope to go again next weekend. I cannot wait for the Pathway to Asia to be done.
Despite the small size of the zoo they fit a lot into the space they have. I was quite impressed with the design of the zoo. The upcoming expansion will make this zoo even better
I always mention that when you support your local zoo, good things happen. New expansion and remodeling is always welcome, especially when new animals are added.
Amazing Video Tom, The Habitats at this zoo look very natural looking. Also when you go on your Road Trip to the Northeast if you have time you should check out the New England Aquarium in Boston, Massachusetts because it's a very Gorgeous Aquarium
My local zoo was much like that until it was basically rebuilt to a modern zoo. I am very glad that cages are a thing of the past at most zoo's. It should be the comfort of the animals that should come first.
I love your videos but have noticed a few animals that their names are not pronounced correctly. I was wondering if you ever watch any animal shows such as pbs nature, animal planet, nat geo, discovery, wild kingdom, or others. I've watched these for over 40 years and take note of how animals names are pronounced. Not criticizing you, just trying to point out a few. Some that I've noticed are Nyala, Tamarin, Coati Mundi, Duiker, just to name a few. In Nyala, sound out the n in a long way but the y sounds like the y in hell or yoyo. In Tamarin it sounds like tammar in, all short A vowels. Coati sounds like coe ah tee. Duiker the U is silent so it sounds like dye ker. Please keep up the great work and if you make it to Kansas again , Salina has a fantastic zoo and museum just 6 miles west of town called Rolling Hills Wildlife Adventure. Also there is Tanganyika park near Goddard. Again, your videos to me are addictive. Thanks for them all.
Thank You, I'm glad you enjoy my tours. I've been notified multiple times over the years mentioning the way I misspronounce an animal. I try to pronounce them correctly after. Thanks for the input
Did you know that after the Elephants got their new exhibit it was temporarily used for Camel Rides but they shut it down after the Camels contracted an infection and that's how it became the Goat Exhibit
It's a Beautiful zoo ,Nice View
I was very impressed with the look of the zoo and habitats. The animals had stimulation and room to move around. Thanks for your comment

Have you ever been to the Phoenix Zoo before
Always ❤ 2 see zoos new additions and expansions. Lazy lion laying on its back with feed against rocks

A better zoo than Washington D.C. zoo especially after many of their exotic animals are gone. Enjoyed watching, thanks Tom 👍
Both zoo's have their good parts, hopefully both will obtain new animals

Thanks for the tips! I'll try to fit it into my plans
Amazing Video Tom! Also, you should check out the Monterey Bay Aquarium in Monterey, CA and See the Whales and Dolphins are Marine Mammals.
Thank You, I'm glad you enjoyed my tour. I did go to the Monterey Bay Aquarium during this same roadtrip. Stay tuned for that tour coming up soon
Grew up with this ZOO. In the 70s evert thing was in small chain link cages. In 76 a lion even sprayed my family as we were viewing them

Another Zoo I suggest you visit on your Pacific Northwest roadtrip is the West Coast Game Park Safari near Coos Bay Oregon
Is that a drive thru safari park?
@TomsRoadTrippin yes it is and you can get up close and personal with the animals as well
Underrated zoo
It really is
that's a nice place and happy 4th of july
Thank You, I hope you had a nice 4th of July
Fun fact: The Wild Dog exhibit used to be the Bengal Tiger exhibit and even held a white tiger at one point
What happened to the kitties?
@@TomsRoadTrippinthey are currently off exhibit right now but they will be included in the new Asia exhibit in 2026
They also used to have Sun Bears but not anymore
I always enjoy the Sun Bears, they are cute
@@TomsRoadTrippin not when you provoke them
u can revisit next time hopefully the asia and elephant would be there
I'd like to go back again in the future to see the new area
@@TomsRoadTrippin yaa that would be fun
Did you know that the Reid Park Zoo has an adorable baby Elephant calf
Baby animals are all adorable, but baby elephants are super cute
White Rhinos and Indian one horned rhinos are actually not critically endangered but near threatened, only the other 3 species are.
Thank You for the clarification
Also before the Grizzly Bear exhibit it was the Polar Bear exhibit before they decided to phase them out
They moved several animals to other facilities to renovate portions of the zoo
Too disappointed that you didn't get to see Meru, Nandi, and Simba the elephants.
It was but I understand the need for repairs to the habitat

The goats definitely scored an upgrade when they got the old elephant habitat
@@TomsRoadTrippin they sure did
Also before the current Lemur exhibit it used to belong to Mandrills
That habitat seems better suited for the lemurs
@@TomsRoadTrippin I think so too
Also just to let you know Duiker is pronounced Diker
Thank You, I've updated the way I pronounce them
