Brilliant, so glad I found this vid, good heads up, resources and recommendations. Just signed up for the Certified in Cybersecurity. Appreciate you putting this out!
Passed my ISC2 CC today. I will agree 100% with what you are saying. I started studying to my security+ before this ISC2 exam and it did help. There were a few questions that I didn’t not see in my studies on ISC2 . I also took the Mike Chappel LinkedIn course a few weeks back and he actually goes more in-depth than the actual ISC2 self learning content. I watched your video yesterday and I was nervous so I went over more information. Thank you Carla!
If you read the documentation you will see that there will be un-graded questions on all their exams. Questions that have no relation to the study material. I believe only 75 out of 100 questions are graded.
Just passed the test this morning. Definitely a good bit of material in there that was not in the course. If youre a good test taker, you might be able to pass with just the course info and some luck. Otherwise, Id reccomend familiarizing yourself with OSI model and ISC2 ethics a bit more than what the course wouks suggest.
WOW now i understand what you meant. I did ISC2 and Mike Chappel on linked in. I agree, my experience did help on most questions specially the deceiving questions which is 80 percent of the test. Thank you
Just took the ISC2 exam and failed. Nearly half of the questions are not in the curriculum and the questions are quite deceptively worded. Definitely going into just Security+ and leaving this behind…
I wrote the test today and failed it. I'd call myself a fairly experienced Network technician with a desire to branch into Cyber Security. I personally found the exam a bit deceptive as the preparation material from ICS2 doesn't go into that much detail as I found on the test. I'll look into CompTIA and forget about ISC2
Hi Clara Thank you for your explanation Regarding the 601 security+ should I read the Book, or I can focus only on specific parts like the Pre-Assessment Exam
Hello for your feedback. Can I use the "CompTIA Security+: SY0-601 Certification Guide: Complete coverage of the new CompTIA Security+ (SY0-601) exam to help you pass on the first attempt, 2nd Edition" in place of the "Get Certified, Get Ahead book" for supplement? Excuse me for my bad english.
thanks carla , appreciate for providing feedback on this exam. May I know which comptia security plus are you referring as your additional study guide? Is it the 501 (old) or the 601 new version which is the current release? thanks..
No and I mentioned supplemental exam prep resources. Also you can go back and review your answers on the self-paced learning. You can't during the actual exam.
Thanks for your advice. One question, if due to some reason, I am not able to pass in first attempt, will I have to pay for the exam for second attempt? Please excuse me for my bad language as I am not a native English speaker (from Pakistan).
No do the most recent one 601. I have the 601 book link in my description. Also you can use the ISC2 self-paced online learning but supplement it with Get Certified Get Ahead. Thanks for commenting.

Yes! It is deceptive. That is why I created this video to warn people about that. Thank you for watching and commenting.

Thank you for the video, I failed this pilot exam, so I am looking for materials to help me pass this exam
You're very welcome. I have provided the Amazon and Quizlet links in my description for the resources that I've mentioned. Good luck on your retake.

601 the most recent exam. You're very welcome.
Were the question format similar to the review ?
No and I mentioned supplemental exam prep resources. Also you can go back and review your answers on the self-paced learning. You can't during the actual exam.

ISC2 has 1 exam retake built into this free exam voucher. Thanks for commenting.
@@CarlaJenkinsTV Thanks for replay.
Thank for the tip and I'd like to know do I have to pay the AMF fee 50$ to get certification even if I pass the exam?
Yes, that's part of the process. Thanks for commenting.
Was the exam similar the self paced pre course assessment?
No it was not. I explained the differences in my video and what other resources you would need to pass. Thanks.
@@CarlaJenkinsTV Oh yeah, I got my Security+ just yesterday so I think I'm ready, I got 794/900 so I think i'll be good
Congrats!! Will you receive a physical certificate
This is my first ICS2 certification so I hope so. That would be cool!
What if you don't pay the annual isc2 membership fee? (since the 1st year is free)
Will your badge in credly disappear?
I think so because it's a process. 1.pass certification. 2. Endorsement 3. Pay your annual membership fee.
