Hey :) I’m Christian Schaffer, and I’ve lived on the road full-time since May 2018. This journey began in 2013 when I left the corporate world to build my career as an outdoor adventure & travel photographer. As a semi-minimalist, I eventually decided to donate/sell most of my belongings and move into my 4x4 Nissan Xterra. After 14 months of SUV living and falling madly in love with the open road - I bought a van and hired a team to build it out. Van life enables me to experience and document the beauty of our natural world on a whole new level, all while having my home and office nearby. My hope is that by sharing my own personal highs and lows along this (sometimes) wild journey, you might be inspired to hit the road or spend more time outdoors. Maybe one day I'll see you out on that open road 🚐
*My van is a 2019 Ram ProMaster 1500 High Roof, 136" WB*

Hey guys! Just wanted to say thanks for all your amazing comments, so cool getting to know you all better. Sorry I haven’t gotten to them all…been working on a new video for you :) As for the ‘surprise and delight’, head over to @Ryanjoy12’s YT page to see what he creates with the LumixG100! xo
I would film the Imperial Dunes at sunset...where Star Wars was filmed!
Hey Happy Camper, Just wanted to wish you a Blessed Holiday Season and more, Lord-Jesus-Christ com
Christian, you probably heard this, but just in case, it is not good to drink out of hot plastic bottle. It gives out hormones you do not want. But I do love your talks.
Those vids are amazing. And they’re all shot on the LumixG100? The depth is crazy on those fall leaf shots.
Love it ... Great vlog!!
Those breakfast sandwiches looked amazing!
Right?? Over here trying to convince Nate to start his own channel ... 🤓
I was hungry after seeing those they looked delicious
I can't believe its been 5 months since I found your channel, truly it has been the best 5months of my life because its when it all began for me.
your videos literally induced a light bulb
💡 moment in my life and words will never be enough to express my gratitude.
1.Because of you, I appreciate a life I used to hate so much that I couldn't wait to get out of it
2. Because of you, I started living more simply and it has made a happier human being
3. Because of you , I started documentary my rural life which set the tone for my self acceptance journey
Now I am Happy and I am free☀😁
You are indeed a blessing to our generation. Thank you for existing🤗💚
Well this is the best comment EVER. Thank you for sharing Mayo, I'm so happy that you're living a life you love 💕
Mayo-do share your links when available. I'd enjoy watching your journey more, now that you shared your background with the whole wide web, or is it world? ha ha or, in any case, have a marvelous day! You made my day opening like you did. You got THIS!! and yes, Christian is pretty sweet, I just discovered her last night.
what a sweet comment! this was beautiful. best wishes, mayo!
What I would pay for one of the breakfast bagels wow....
Lol same🤣
breakfast bagels on the house! also, the comments on your comment 😅
Your level of refinement is so refreshing when it comes to what you create and how you live in the context of van living 😊 Inspiring!
wow thank you! I'm very much still learning, but really appreciate the positive feedback 😊🙏🏻
@@ChristianSchaffer I guess "you're learning" is a relative term... it means for someone like me, I have yet to begin! (Which is actually true lol) 🙄😅
After living a homestead life for twenty years-the locals decided they wanted a piece of my pie. They broke in and stole everything including the trash can...I no longer have a home town. I love my nomadic life and look forward to an opportunity to be able to tell a story of adventure and triumph! ✌🏼💜👣
I can Totally Relate to your plight. Been wiped out many times by now.
Getting better and better being in front of the camera instead of behind it eh :). Burger looks awesome!
ah thank you! trying to get on your level 😉
@@ChristianSchaffer That's nice of you to say. But I don't think we are far off hehe

I want a Nathaniel to make breakfast, dinner, drive to an adventure, and play guitar. Loved your vid :)
haha right?? he's the best 😊
I want a Nate to build my van!!!! Lol 😂
Just started watching your channel. Absolutely wonderful! I can not wait to show my daughters because you are exactly the type of strong independent woman that I want them to experience for their own life. I’m always trying to capture every moment with them and I hope that someday they will travel and life to the max! Great work!
As a mother of a 17 yo girl, I wish your mom to never EVER have any reason whatsoever to worry about you being out there exploring your life! Regardless of wherever it gets you into, I wish you to always come out of it and remain as a one solid piece, physically and, most importantly in my opinion, mentally! Wish you to stay wise and diligent as you are. God bless you, your loved ones, and that sweet boy in the video!
I like how clean and tidy your living space looks. Great energy, vibes and tips that's why I subscribe. Keep posting and stay safe.
Oh my gosh would this camera change my whole world. Thank you for not only the opportunity but for all the terrific information on it. I am extremely hopeful that I get to show you all around my great state of Idaho. Best wishes. Thank You
I would love to see Idaho from a local's perspective...I've driven through many times but have yet to really explore that beautiful state!
I really appreciate seeing the day-to-day of #vanlife. With the Lumix, I'd be on a mission to learn from others "what authentic connection means to them and how we, as a species, can have more of it". #worldpeace #love
I love that. Very cool mission
Getting better and better! Shine on!
Aw thank you! Learning as I go 🤓🙏🏻
That was a beautiful video on your new Lumix "toy"... Love the landscape and your "yummy" breakfast & dinner :-)... Thank you for sharing Christian.
Hope you stay well and safe.
Thanks Tien 🙌🏼 good times and good eats 🤓
I live on the east coast of Florida south of Orlando. I've always wanted to take pictures of this little town and start my own blog/vlog page to show the world what this little sleepy town has to offer. I've been here since May, 1987 and it's changed so much.
Hi Randy, I grew up in St. Cloud and it's definitely not the little town today as it was when I was a kid. Now I am seeing major changes and growth in Lake County and the West Orlando area where I currently live. I've been a Floridian since Jan. 1972 and agree; all of Florida is changing too rapidly.
Footage and the sound is really impressive. 👏🏼 I couldn’t imagine walking around with a larger mirrorless with the deadcat on top.
yeah I've tried a few times, it's a real workout 😅
Or like Peter McKinnon with the 1dx mk2 :)
hi, christian, this is rené from germany. your vids are really great. nice to see all this landscape again. we did a beautiful roundtrip from east to west cost and from north to south west coast. 5- month trip by camper. you can be happy, being on the road for a while.... always great times for you, being on the road. But as you do also dog sitting , don`t you tink you should have a lovely dog yourself. Having always the best friend"next to you" and you dont have to talk to yourself, sometimes. And for your safety it would be better anyway, i think.....
Wishing you all the best from bavaria, southern germany.....
You are one of the most inspiring girls I have ever seen! Really love your work🤗
You are too kind, thanks for the love 😊🙏🏻
At the beginning of Covid I got a 2006 Sprinter and have been camping quite a bit in the Mt St Helens area. I'm a locksmith based out of Astoria Oregon, Just me and my awesome labrador. I've been an Airbnb superhost but now I'm working on finishing out my basement in my 1898 home as a VRBO. I've watched a number of your videos but what drew me in was the buildout.
Ah, you're living the dream. I'd eventually love to have a house of my own and some remote tiny homes to rent out while I go camp, ha. Also very cool that you have a lab...I pet-sit while living on the road to get my pet fix but so excited for the day when I can have my own dog again.
Bagels looked amazing , love how your motivated to pack everything up and make your van look amazing 👌👍
Christian, really enjoyed the video. Thank you. It was excellent. Very peaceful. You have a great set up !!!
Thanks so much Cal 😊🙏🏻
I would take pictures of the amazing sunsets and sunrise here in Arizona . They are simply wonderful
They really are 😊
I'm a full-time RV er. I'm in a slide in truck camper. I will say my camper never looks as uncluttered as your van. I suppose the only time it's fairly uncluttered is when I move and put everything away so that things don't get tossed around. Beautiful van you have. Safe travels. Thank you for the video.
Loved this video!! That camera looks so perfect for vlogging, especially the built in stabilization and audio functions 😍🙌🏼
Time to start a youtube channel?? 😉💛
Great video... Can't wait to move into my van & see the sights that you do!
& that man can cook & plays a great guitar...put a ring on his finger!!
Your videos are so peaceful and relaxing, wish I was able to do what you’re doing with van life! I noticed the exterior of your van is a little dirty... Come to Texas and I’ll give it a good detail and make it shine for you! Also, I’m glad you have someone else with you so you’re not completely alone out there. Take care!
Haha it's true, my van is ridiculously dirty atm 😅
Your van is so super efficient and cozy and spacious at the same time. I hope you don't mind someone copying your design. Thanks for sharing....and keep on rollin
Not at all! I was hugely inspired by vanlife.sagas when I was dreaming up my build 😊🚐 ruclips.net/channel/UCXgZyyqFpxgil9bBjyUXIJQ
That scenery is everything! Stunning! I spent a lot of time on blm land in Oregon this summer and it was all decimated by the fires. I'd love to take the Lumix and go shoot the after. 💛
Ahh it breaks my heart to think of all those fires...this year was especially tough. I love your idea of sharing the aftermath and how places are being affected.
I live in Switzerland and doing homeoffice all day long.
I would film the mountains, the lakes the rivers the beautiful cities as soon as we have our lives back.
Hope 2021 doesn't have a virus as this year or at least we have a solution soon.
Wish you all the best, Mark.
ahhh I seriously dream of the day I can be back in Switzerland...your country is pure magic
I’m from Scotland so I would film our beautiful Scottish Highlands: the luscious green or winter wonderland landscape, the animals and of course a close up of a wee dram of whiskey.
My name is Moses, I live in a small town in south Texas, i believe i would use it to capture memories with my pops and my brother. As avid fisherman we have moments of bliss that is only captured in memory, times when the laughs hurt and when the fish bite. In this crazy time we've realized how important it is to be around someone you love to numb the sting of uncertain and crazy times, when we're on the john boat and the fish are biting, or just enjoying each other's company the thought of Covid couldn't be further away. I aspire to live like you, with minimal waste and a lesser impact, to preserve the outdoors as best I can. Thank you for being so awesome!
Such a beautiful description you shared, felt like I was right there fishing alongside ya'll. Thank you 😊
@@ChristianSchaffer I appreciate that very much! Kind of a cool story in my opinion, I went on a long road trip for about 2 months, I stayed with family and friends in several states, well I went up to Jackson hole, WY and stayed a couple days on a ranch near there. Well I had this urge to visit Utah again, which was my first actual stop (Stayed a week). So i left and headed back, and connected deeper to those people. Well then i realized you were near the Tetons, and was blown away to think that i was in one of those gorgeous places you capture and share so beautifully! Well some time had passed and my roadtrip had come to the end. While in Utah i was invited to a wedding, once arriving back home i was counting the days! I went pretty far north to Orem, UT. On my way back home the next day you were passing through Moab💕 For some reason it just made me smile and just get real excited. All this time living vicarious through you and seeing your incredible adventures i was there and could see it first hand🥰 And you betcha I'm wearing that same one telling this story!😊
Ps. It was through the insta stories😂
Love your videos, they're so soothing. Greetings from the Netherlands
Thanks for watching 😊🙌🏼
Mmmm breakfast bagels! Funny how everything from food, morning coffee, or reading a book, is more enjoyable on the road. :) It's awesome to see you guys followed your heart and stayed on the road through this. I'm looking forward to the time I can get back out there!
Currently I'm claiming space in Michigan, setting up for chickens and bees in the spring. Years ago I switched over to using Lumix, and after wrapping up the business side of it, I downsized to the first dmc-lx10 for travelling. I could do star shots and everything with it! If I happened to get a camera upgrade, I would capture the beauty of human life, seems everyone can be reminded of that right now! Cheers from snowy Mi!
That sounds lovely - I grew up in Wisconsin and have some great memories of traveling north through the Michigan UP. It's such a beautiful state 😊
@@ChristianSchaffer Agreed! Ooh Wisconsin, I've only been to there for the air show, but it got me into paragliding, so no complaints :)
I live in Scottsdale, AZ and I would film all the gorgeous desert scenery around here :) Great job with this video by the way!!!
Really enjoyed this. Quality and great and visuals matched. Awesome to see a better idea of what the van life is like as well. From NJ/Philly area but been living in NC and since discovered photography. I’m hoping to get on the road soon as well!! PS, those tacos looked 👌🏼👌🏼👌🏼
most vulnerable part of van life is every night when i have to take my eyes out. #loveCONTACTS #imBLIND #-7
-6.5 almost as bad lol
omg I feel that 😅 luckily I can still see well enough to drive, but I really wish I could just get lasik. every time I ask (always a new doctor since I'm always in a new place...) they say there's a 50% chance I'll go blind if I get the surgery. not good odds 🥸
@@lmondragon88 LOL u can almost feel my pain. #iCANTsee
@@ChristianSchaffer Woah! 50% no way jose
I live in South East Michigan. With winter fast approaching I would use it to film some of the frozen lakes, big and small. The metro parks stay open in the winter so getting shots of the snow capped trees and landscapes is a must.
In my hometown, I would use the LUMIX to capture my gorgeous puppy having a day at natural parks and forests and beaches all over the tri-county. We live in south Florida and there are so many natural sweet spots 🤗
and who doesn't want to see a puppy?? I know I do 🙋🏼♀️
@@ChristianSchaffer 🤗 aww hehehe it helps that she’s both beautiful and a hoot! 😝
Thank you for sharing a real day in the life! Nate is a wizard on that guitar! 🎶
he sure is 🎸
@@ChristianSchaffer I just found your channel last week and I absolutely LOVE your video about female van life solo safety. 💪 It was the 1st video I watched. Good content! Thank you.
I don't know many women who look so beautiful when they wake up in the morning. luck, happiness and health be with you ...
Sorry to burst your bubble..she clearly had already brushed her hair..just show. Having had long hair my whole life..no way she woke that tangle free lol.
i’m her husband and trust me..when she wakes up she looks like donald trump with a wig
It’s staged.
You are rocking these uploads!! Loving the consistency
At the moment we're still in lockdown, so I'd have so much fun creating at home and diy videos 🤗
Love the simplicity of this video, and the way it highlights your van with a narrative instead of just talking about the switches, plumbing or solar demands. Kudos to you and your village of people behind the scenes, I’m sure to make it happen. The Lumix has risen to the top of my list, as I embark on my own vanlife build and pursuit of happiness.
Oh my, I wish there was a village 😅 just me, trying to learn how to youtube. But thank you, means a lot to have that kind of encouragement 🙌🏼
What song was Nate playing on the guitar I love it ?!!
such a good song - The Burren by Ben Howard
Austin, TX! Have spent a lot of time outdoors during the pandemic months. Our daughter is now a year and half and started walking during all of this, so now we take walks through the green belts together and would love to film our adventures. I’m also using this time to fix up a 1997 Toyota 4Runner into an overland camping rig, which is why I’ve been watching your channel for inspiration! Keep up the great work
I love that! Nathaniel (in the video) actually used to live in a Toyota 4Runner, and now he lives in a Toyota Sequoia. I've been trying to convince him to film a tour for youtube...they're such great adventure/camping vehicles
@@ChristianSchaffer convince him please and thank you!
I am currently in Scottsdale, AZ. I’d take some pictures of the landscape on pinnacle peak. Love your van layout, what size wheel base?
Great content Christian! I'm based in Antwerp, Belgium and actually enjoying the second pandemic wave over here. No go out restrictions like during the first wave, decorating appartment, writing, playing guitar. Never did Van life, but had a quite adventurous life, working as an entertainer in tourist clubs in Greece when I was younger. Take care, looking forward to new content!
Gourmet effing breakfast in the middle of nowhere. That's what's up Christian. 😍
that's right, I'm here for it 🤓🥑🥯
I love these parts of the world. So peaceful.
I'd document the toll of the situation and winter as well as the peace in mediterean seaside villages in Algarve. And my imaginary van... :D
That would be so interesting to see 😊
I leave in Geneva in Switzerland and I always wanted to make a documentary about the tsunamis of 563. The LUMIX G100 could be usefull. It’s a very unknown part of our local history here but so interesting. And it shows the power of the lake that we forgot to much.
Thanks for your videos they are beautiful and the landscaps are amazing ! When I will have finish my study I want to buy a van too and travel in Europe. It’s gonna be amazing I can’t wait !
I have never heard of that, how interesting! Switzerland is such a magical place, would be amazing to learn more about its history 😊🙌🏼
I live in Holland, Michigan! Great “day in the life” vid! I’m just getting into bike-packing and looking for a camera that would capture the overall experience, something other than a GoPro. Perhaps the LUMIX would do it!!
Thank you! And yeah, I imagine the Lumix would be perfect for that 🚲ps I'm curious...how heavy is your pack with the bike?
I am in Nevada and just started binge-watching your channel today. Enjoying your videos very much.
I love this kind of videos :-) Into the wild. Or as Tom Petty sang ''Into the great wide open'' :-)
ah thank you. Into the Wild is one of my all time favorite books :)
@@ChristianSchaffer fabulous :-) thank you so much for sharing your adventures with us.
We are from LA, SoCal. But like traveling all over Canada and the USA and when we retire would love to finish visiting all the 50 states and then get tropical, Think Tahiti and Fiji! This camera would be the bomb!
Also, that collapsible electric kettle is amazing! My wife would love it! You should really think about putting in Amazon affiliate links in your description. Thanks for all your videos, we just recently found you as I am a photographer too but love traveling. Blessings!
Sounds like you and your wife are living the dream! 😊🙌🏼 here's a link to the kettle, I love it! www.amazon.com/shop/christianschaffer

Hi Christian. Another stellar video. My gosh, Nathan (Nate) is wonderful on the guitar. Not to shabby as a chef either. Looked like a wonderful day, filled with beauty. I follow you from Salem, Oregon and I would take pictures to the east in the Cascades or the Oregon coast. You've seen both and you know there's no down side there. Love your stuff. Thank you so much. If we don't see you before then, Merry Christmas.
Thanks so much, Steve. Ah Oregon, you're basically surrounded by beauty out there 😊🍃I'm hoping to get another one up before Christmas, wish me luck haha. If not, Merry Christmas to you too!
Those tacos looked amazing
Tell Nathaniel he's a fantastic guitar player... you are so lucky to have a cooking troubadour on your travels! Makes camp life a great experience..
If I had that camera I think I'd start a RUclips
on behalf of all us Ben Howard fans, please start a youtube..
I’d subscribe to that.
Outstanding job at capturing a day in the life. Beautiful scenery and great ambiance throughout video. Your vblogs are very relaxing to watch - thank you so much for sharing!
That stabilisation didn’t work for me, made me feel nauseous watching you walk and talk. Not you of course! Just the camera 📷
it is great to have travel companions in these isolation moments especially those that cook. I am in NC, I believe that with a vlog camera would be able to capture everything from the ocean to the mountains. Nature photography is best and events to capture people in adventures is next best choice.
Yeah, Nate and I have been traveling together more or less since the pandemic hit - he also lives on the road in his SUV 😊🙌🏼 NC is beautiful, I have a friend who built a treehouse out there in the woods and it looks so dreamy..
That is great you have people in the east coast. And Oh I would love to see that treehouse..
looking forward to the vlogging
My hometown is Brisbane, Australia and if I had the lumix G100, I'd constantly film the antics of my 2 dogs at the beach - they're a hoot.
Ahh I miss having a dog. They're the best 🐶
Like your video's. Watching from the Netherlands and I am amazed by all the impressing scenerie's, which you show! Please continue posting!
Thanks Johan, I'd love to see the Netherlands someday 😊
@@ChristianSchaffer Just contact me and I will show you around! FYI: there is far more to see than Amsterdam! Other nature of course, like "polders"! :)
It looks so peaceful where you are! If I had a LUMIX, I would take it with me on my weekend van travels throughout Michigan this winter, learning to cross country ski and snow shoe. It would be beautiful, snow-covered wilderness, and a bit of humor watching me learn to ski! 😂
I love snowy landscapes!! Just wish I could handle the cold better...anything below 30 is no bueno for me haha
Dealing with the cold is more difficult the older I get. 😆 The only thing that makes it bearable is how pretty the snow is.
I'm going to start Van life soon and your videos have helped me to prepared my self for the life style,I can not wait. Who knows I might see you on the road some day.. God bless you.
I'm from the heart of Vancouver, Canada - the great Pacific Northwest. With the Lumix G100, I'd document our beautiful mountains during an early winter hike (St. Mark's Summit is a personal favourite) or the beaches and trails near the ocean during a morning run!
Thanks for SHOWING us what a normal day is like. Sometimes a person only just talks about what they typically do in a day without illustration. You showed us instead. It's a nice change. Cheers.
GREAT feel for the daily life.....thx for sharing!
Your videos are amazing. Love this one about what it's like when you wake up and making breakfast. Ready to start your day. Very healthy eating. Cool Setup.
I know sometimes you question the full time van life, but it does look cool. I am 55 years old now, the older I get the more i want the minimalist life style and travel. Keep up the great videos you produce, and just make them when you want. I will always make time to watch.
LOVE your channel. I love your aesthetic and the content you create. Spent a whole day watching all of your videos and committed to suv travel on the weekends because of you until I decide if I like it. Keep it up.
You are so brave. Much respect! My wife is so much like you. She is a bad ass and would totally live the lyfestile that you created for your self.
My hopes are to eventually follow in your footsteps with her- doing exactly what you are doing. My advice to you is don’t ever second guess your self or what you are doing! Live every day full send just as you are!!! Good vibes and avocado toast your way!!! Lol!
Hey Christian! I followed you and your story a little before COVID hit and I was immediately inspired to live life fuller and simpler as you do! Anyways, I'm in my final year of physical therapy school with two kids and I would film what life is like to grind 5 AM to 12 AM and how to balance life/family/mental health. I live in Florida so we have a few hidden gems (not as much as the Pacific Northwest or Southwest) but we frequently make it up to Blue Ridge Mountains in Georgia and in South Carolina/North Carolina/Tennessee Area! Regardless if you pick me or not, I'm inspired to do a cross country trip in our own van within the next five years thanks to you.
I have two Lumix G 6 and love them. I'm amazed at the quality and versatility. I use them along side my DSLR and many times the quality is better than the DSLR. I'm very pleased and would love to try the Lumix G100.
I live in Brisbane, Australia, and the Lumix G100 would be perfect for filming the incredible hiking and outdoor lifestyle options in this gorgeous city.
Would love to see that!
Thank you for what you do and share with us. I appreciate you and your wholesome endearing life style. I am from Connecticut now living in Long Island, NY. Talk about wanting to get away from crowds and oh yeah TRAFFIC! Please keep them coming as you present a pleasant, cogent and professional manner. You’re easy to follow. Best to you and your great way. Rob.
Hi! I’m based in the smallest state in America: Rhode Island. That camera looks great, if I had a camera like this, I would probably film everything from nature, people, to my experiences.
Love you videos, they are always very inspirational.
Love Rhode Island! I spent Christmas in Newport a few years back - such a beautiful place to call home 😊
I’m researching cameras for my future blogging... I will be transitioning to Vanlife once my son graduates high school 2022. This is my dream. Thank you for all the info on your new camera! G100 LUMIX! I’m in Oregon so there are a lot of trails and forest I would blog about and about my new found life of peace!
I'm so stoked for you and all your future adventures 🚐🤘🏼also Oregon is one of my favorite places - what a beautiful place to call home
Just saw your video...very amazing life you live. I'm 70 and just getting started in photography. Have to do online classes now but wanted to say I would film the people working to recover from then Derecho we experienced last august. It seems like it's neverending plus covid has made everything twice as hard. It's wonderful how people come together to help when the need arises. Keep up the videos...inspiring to all ages!
Hey Happy Camper, Thanks for sharing your "Day in the Life" video. Nice to see that you have a travel buddy who can cook gourmet meals and play the guitar too! Hopefully he has been able to give you some strumming tips :) Actually, I don't really consider my current location as my hometown. I guess my real hometown would be a quaint place in N.E. Georgia. I'd probably film / photo the local farms and people. Stay safe and best wishes on your adventures.
Ahh I'm still working on those guitar skills...it's a major goal but also so intimidating 🙈 Pretty cool that you're from Georgia, Nate is from Tybee Island
@@ChristianSchaffer I think I may have passed through / visited Tybee Island while on an RV Road trip with family a while ago. Savannah is a nice coastal city. I'm an electric guitar novice and enjoy learning power chords and pentatonic scale riffs. Safe travels :)
Your videos give me a sense of calm :) especially these well thought out vlogs. Makes sense that your personality is so chill when your fine art photography gives the same feeling. Maybe it's time for me to give meditation another go, lol.
I'm based in Cañon City, CO. Just moved here from Massachusetts. People ask me all the time "Why Cañon of all places?"... it's crazy to think a question like that should be asked when there are so many undiscovered hiking trails, rock climbing routes, and rivers to raft just 20 minutes from my house! I'm a landscape and product photographer, but my dream would be to film videos of my persuing my goa of hiking all 58 14ers out here (maybe) on the Lumix! Either way, thank you for starting this channel, you are so inspiring!
I love that - and can relate in a way. When people ask 'why do you live in van?' it's like...do you even know how many beautiful places exist out there? I can't see them all if I'm stuck in one place, haha. Colorado is rad - congrats on making the move 🤘🏼😊
Our home town is Kamloops, British Columbia. I would capture my current bus conversion, and my dog Benji. We have a '99 short bus that has already see tons of the Americas before we purchased it, but we are currently converting it to take it around the Americas on our own! Love your videos, your lifestyle is inspiring.
I am based in St John's Newfoundland, Canada. I would use the Lumix to shoot all the beautiful hiking trails and outdoors scenery we have.
Keep up the great work!!!
That camera looks super convenient and handy. Perfect for capturing my future bus adventures! It's also refreshing to see a guitar guy at a camp fire actually play well haha
I am based in La Crosse, Wisconsin. (If I remember right, on the other side of the state from where you grew up.) I would use the Lumix G100 to get out of the house and view my home base with fresh eyes. I would film all the things this area has to offer that I often take for granted. Like the eagles soaring above the beautiful bluffs along the Mississippi River, the paddle boats and barges drifting under the big blue bridges, the view from Grandad Bluff, the wildlife in Hixon Forest, and of course the kitsch like the World's Largest Six Pack. It's Wisconsin, we like beer.
With the Lumix G100 in my hometown (Colorado Springs, CO)....I would film at Red Rocks park in Old Colorado City. Thanks also for showing us the typical day you have. We are looking at doing vanlife and these types of videos help! Cheers!
Such a cool area to live in ...I worked there briefly for my old corporate job and wish I had spent more time exploring the area. I'm thinking I'll put together a video soon about all the vanlife things I don't like...hopefully that will be helpful too 😊🚐
I enjoy your content, and that you are a photographer on a daily adventure in your nice RV Van.
Thanks for the good vibes 😊🤘🏼
That pop-up kettle! The coolest...
I luv it
I really enjoy how simple your videos are. Makes me appreciate them much more.
Awesome that you took a few chances and it all worked out! Working with Panasonic is pretty impressive but it seems like you've already got a killer work portfolio so just keep doing what you're doing!
I'm in Vegas and there are so many off-the-beaten places to film around here: Red Rock Canyon; Desert Viewpoint; the snow and wildlife on Mt. Charleston; Willow Beach, Valley of Fire; the drive in any direction; and if that's not enough, the tourists are a sight to behold. I enjoy your beautiful camera visuals and angles. The editing must take hours!
Thanks for sharing, I've only ever driven through Vegas. Would be rad to base there sometime and explore all those places. And yeah, I bet you get some interesting tourists for sure ha
There are campgrounds at Kyle Canyon and Lee Canyon, 30 minutes from The Strip. It's surreal because you pass through the desert and drive up to 8000 ft to get an alpine atmosphere with lots of trails. The biggest plus is that it's 20 degrees cooler year round compared to Vegas. I was just there and there's lots of snow!
Retired young, full time on the road and loving it, domicile is Florida, for MANY reasons. Love your photography. I'm a wanna be photographer.
I just found your vlog and totally loving being transported to such amazing locations out in the wilderness.I live in London - home to people from all corners of the globe - and I want to film different food cultures to capture a taste of the colour and diversity of ingredients from markets and gardens and imagination let loose in the kitchen
Oo I would love to see that! I lived in London for about 6 weeks when I was working at Abercrombie and I loved wandering the city. Such a mysterious and fascinating place
@@ChristianSchaffer I love showing people around (or pointing them in the direction to make their own discoveries). There really is something for everyone
Currently on the road myself, assessing van life and my own van conversion. I keep coming back to your van as it's layout is close to exactly what I want with a few adjustments. So, home right now is my small SUV. Currently in the Sierra Nevada mountains at a retreat center....meditating soon...Thanks Christian for your videos...I love the quality of your photography and videoing and the music your use...creates a sweet space.
I’m in Australia 🇦🇺 and just about to start van life. Thank you for sharing your day. Unfortunately I’ll be working in the city and stealth parking mostly but I’m so excited to get out of town on weekends and explore my country. I can’t wait to get a camera to photograph the beautiful mountains, bush and coast. Not sure if I’m brave enough to VLog like you do 🥰🤗🙏🏻
Yay! Excited for you 😊 Vlogging is tougher than I expected it to be...so strange seeing yourself on camera...but it seems to get easier with time 🙏🏻 (at least that's what I keep telling myself, ha..)
Well, since I live in Portland I'd love to take the camera early one day and start driving north up around Mt. St. Helens. Then, by Noon I would head west to the pacific ocean for some beach time. Then, finally in the late afternoon, I would head to central Oregon with a quick stop off at Mt. Hood on the way. Ending up the day at Sisters, Oregon for some much needed sauna time after a very long day of taking pics!...Love ur Vlogs, Christian! Always look forward to seeing you online. You're a real charmer!!
And just like that, you have me contemplating a trip up to Oregon...so many beautiful vistas!
@@ChristianSchaffer I’ll buy coffee !
@@ChristianSchaffer You inspire me! I've been watching several van lifers for a year or more and some van builders as well. Finally, as I've put aside corporate life, I've made my mind up to hit the road soon. Thank you for being a part of my decision to do this! Although I will keep my home here in Vancouver, Washington, van life will happen at least six months out of each year. You have talked some about being safe on the road....Well, for me the challenge will be venturing out and staying active since I'm single. Sometimes as a guy, we need a "kick in the pants" to stay motivated. You're certainly motivated and you proved to me that van life alone can be achieved. Thank you for your knowledge.
1st vid I have seen and yes I subscribed and clicked that bell. Your van looks gorgeous and love the little collapsible kettle! The food, the scenery, the music and the company was as close to perfect as you can get and you are a natural in front of the camera. Speaking of cameras I live in Calgary Alberta Canada and my playground are the Rockies, yippee me. :) I would love to shoot the hikes, backpacking and wanderings with my silver Lab Zeus. Look forward to your next upload. Take care, Daniel.
Ahhh I love Alberta...literally heaven on earth. Looking forward to the day we Americans can freely travel to Canada again 😊🚐
@@ChristianSchaffer And vice versa, I have some motorcycle rides I want to do through the west coast. Fingers crossed we both get our wish.
