2005 California was a joke. 2021 California is so bad that no one living there can even laugh at it any longer. By 2030, California ideology will probably spread to other states of the republic to the extent that no one anywhere can laugh at how bad it is, unless it is stopped. At this point, it's more analogous to a cancer, just ask people in Texas, Idaho and other areas where Californians are arriving to live. A lot are rational and fled because of it. But too many are the insane type who will demand the same destructive policies be enacted in their new homes.

@@mikeg3439 You're said a often repeated comment. It almost seems like many people are just regurgitating what they saw or heard from somewhere or someone else. I've seen many videos of different people talking about their move to whatever state they move to. They talk about immersing themselves in the local culture so they can enjoy the benefits of their new home. Not once have I ever seen anyone say they moved to a new state so they can change the local politics. Even when someone is complaining about how it is in California they never talk about moving and changing the politics of their potential new home state.

No a joke would be funny! This is “what a California!” California has a list of literally thousands of officers who are convicted felons. Instead of getting rid of these criminals, they’re hiding the list, and threatening to sue and in prison any journalist that reveals it! So it’s no wonder people are having to hire private security there. The Golden State killer was a cop, that used his badge to commit crimes with impunity for decades.

Even if they are good, look at the old dude using public resources to provide additional security to the public and charging them for it. ONE dude 140 clients, in an obvious POLICE vehicle. He is just scamming the people. Any criminal can outrun and do their crimes well before this guy can even see or do anything. This is not even going over the unfathomable resources spent making people criminals with the help of other criminals while they themselves do criminal acts to do all that. So YES DEFUND THE POLICE AND ALLOW CITIZENS TO SECURE THEMSELVES through PRIVATE MEANS.

Yes, a person working in a business is going to want to get hired. Yes, anecdotes of people within an industry being less than genuine about methods, have drummed up business. I think this is at the most a far lesser problem than the real scene that San Francisco has become. I highly doubt a couple security guards are somehow organizing some of the most unprecedented waves of crime the city has ever seen, just so they can get some overtime.

It wasn't well patrolled before they moved in either. So I'm fine with it. @@jlehm I said that crime is increasing across all urban areas regardless of political party control and police funding, not that it is increasing at a higher rate. For my source, I looked up cities that increased their police funding instead of decreasing it. I compared the crime numbers provided by their police departments with the numbers in other cities, as well as the national numbers and the FBI's numbers. You won't find this in any one source. I went city by city and looked at all their numbers.
Jacksonville, Fort Worth, San Antonio, Mesa, and Fresno, are all urban areas run by pro-police Republicans. They all saw increases in crime.
Jacksonville is considered Florida's "murder capital". Fort Worth's murder rate has doubled in the last year. San Antonio has seen the fourth biggest increase in homicides of any city in the nation. Mesa has seen a 125 percent increase in homicides, where more people have died in the first six months of 2021 than in all of 1991. Meanwhile, Fresno's homicide rate is currently higher than both LA and San Francisco. These are cities that publicly prided themselves on INCREASING their police funding. Meanwhile "Democratic" cities that increased their funding instead of decreasing it, like Atlanta and Baltimore, also saw crime increases.
Clearly there is a national phenomenon at work that is giving rise to increased crime that has nothing to do with whether or not the "Defund movement" has traction in a given city. This isn't me trying to cover the asses of one of the political factions. This is what the crime and funding data is saying. Anyone who claims this would have been fixed "if only people had voted for Republicans" has no idea what they're talking about. There are places that did exactly that, and they are no better off.
It's like no one who is running with these talking points actually cares about reality. They just want to score points for their tribe and their personal worldviews.
