If I needed a new phone ASAP. I would get a 3a with all of the fixings. The Nexus nostalgia, price point, and stock Android warms my heart... and the camera seal the deal. I am much more inclined to spend money on fun accessories, when the phone didn't break the bank.
That's totally why I love little accessories like this. As long as the core experience is covered, you can actually customize the experience of a phone to your specific tastes. Personalization - isn't that what all of this tech is meant to be about?
I think the pixel 3A is a fantastic little phone with a great camera but when it comes to recording video only the 4K option is the only usable as the 1080p video quality is so soft and lacking detail ,that it's practically useless, unless for smartphone only
Have been using a Moment walnut case with my 3a + Sirui wide and telephoto lenses with excellent results for about a year now. Absolutely love the versatility it adds to an already fantastic camera setup
I'm currently using Apexel lenses. They're just as good as moments IMO. Their 5 in 1 HD kit (clip included) costs no more than $40 (I bought mine for $36.47 without any coupon). I see no loss in quality nor it has any black border and everything, besides the case of course, is made from metal. Individual lense is also stored in its own thick rubber case so the whole package is kind of value for money to me. They also have 18x zoom lens with variable focus, again with no black border and virtually no loss in quality (it's hard to stand still at that zoom size due to shakiness, heavier phone will have better chance of getting sharp photos, or simply use a tripod). You should review their latest lineup.
All these clip on lenses will NOT work on a phone in a case. Tried the Sirui and sent it back. You really don't want to use a cellphone without a case. The lenses have to fit flush on the existing camera lens. Otherwise you get blurry images and vignetting. It seems to be a detail everyone reviewing these clip ons leave out.
@@bbrachman absolutely agree. The clip on solution was also simply annoying to use. I resolved buying a Photocase from Moment. The case is nice, but I would prefer using a different case...but so be it
Rhinoshield cases cases are tough but I couldn't hold my phone properly anymore too thick with little grip imo but the case will protect the hell out of your phone and the buttons click are perfect
I purchase the moment case last week for my 3a XL pixel and returned it the same day then I receive my rhinoshield case today and it fits great and is nice and stiff !
So triple camera setup on OnePlus 7pro or S10+ is gimmick right, So instead smartphone manufacturers should provide a single best camera sensor and Different types of lens and save precious space inside a smartphone for bigger battery and 3.5mm jack and call it an innovation !!
Great video Joshua. Regarding the wide angle lenses, I was wondering if you've had the chance to compare Moment vs. Rhinoshield vs. Sirui vs. Black Eye Pro Cinema Wide G4? Any opinion which is the best/worst and somewhere in between in terms of image quality (distortion, sharpness etc.)? Thank you. I have Pixel 3a too and looking to add a wide angle lens that produce quality images.
Thanks for the tip I did not know moment lenses fit on Rhinosheild cases. I prefer moment lenses but there cases do not offer much protection against drops like the Rhinosheild.
Are there any Moment lenses for the Pixel 4a, specifically a telephoto and wide angle? If so, can you please provide a link? And how much zoom am I getting? Thanks in advance.
Thank you very much for your video, Joshua. Can you share how does Sirui lens put on Moment case? Does it has vignette? I have big vignetting with Sirui wide using my Moment case on Note 9.
Thanks for this info. I bought Aukey clip on wide angle and telephoto lenses, but I cannot get them to focus on the rear lens. Did not yet try them on front facing. Any suggestions?
If I already have a Moment case with their wide angle and telephoto lenses, can I just get a Sirui clip on without any lens for front camera usage since I already have the moment lenses that I needed? In other words, does Sirui just sell the clip on alone without lens?
I cannot find (definitively) whether the Sirui Clip on will work with my phone inside an Otterbox Case. Amazon's questions are not answered definitively. I do not really want to buy a new case. That is why the clip on is a good option. Do you know if the Sirui Clip works on a Pixel 3a inside the Defender case?
If I purchase rhinoshield case, thus it has a clip already were I can install the lens? Or you need to purchase the clip handling the lens seperarely?hope to here from you soon
Hi, I have the sirui lenses. Can I buy any of these cases and use sirui lenses on them? I have clips but case I need mainly for back camera which sirui doesn't have.
Ey! Great video!!! I have a pixel 3a xl and I would like to take portrait photos as you share but always seems that my pixel apply zoom, maybe a video for noobs as me
Well you can't have everything, but though the 3a takes fantastic stills, the video is disappointing. It paints over skin tones, eliminating tons of detail and there is none of the crispness in the still shots.
The RhinoShield and Sirui lenses are cheaper, so it's still possible to save some money. The Pixel still has the best photo processing, though I'll admit the S10 is the better video camera.
@@jvtechtea don't you find Pixels shots too much on the cool side of temp? I really wish Pixel 3a took warmer shots in photos and videos and less contrast in shadows too dark often
French Fries not the stock android experience. I’d rather get consistent updates with an amazing camera then a phone that half of the stuff in it I’d never use, that has a lack of updates, and a camera system with beauty filters that puts Iphones to shame.
Ryan Fluck lmao, what’s the point of having a great software if the hardware sucks? Even the pixel 3’s have started getting slow with that sd845 in em. Pixel sucks, period.

Mario does Apexel fit over the phone case or do they also have a case to buy?
Could you make a video like this with the pixel 4a?
Thanks in advance!
I just bought the rhinoshield lens and sirui clip because of your review, so thanks
Your voice is so soothing 💆♀️
Compare them with the cheaper option, the apexel HD set for only $35 shipping included.
I will keep that in mind! I just looked them up, definitely looks like a good cheaper alternative

I purchased a momento case and returned it immediately because it was so flimsy. I’ll have to try a rhino shield. Looks decent.
Good video
It was flimsy? I've always found Moment cases to be thicc

I don't see any, even in photo modes at 4:3

Joshua, I see this was shot years ago and I dont think RhinoShield carries that any more. Are there any others? Thank you

Did rhino shield take down the case with the lenses?
Can sirui lens been use to rhinoshield case?
Good review 👍 I have a doubt does lenses hide flashlight..
Yes they do cover the flash, but in general I don't recommend using it anyway

will this work with a regular Pixel 3?? i heard the 3A is smaller and slower

Tbh I only use a screen protector on my Pixel 3a. No case required with it's Plastic build. I forget how nice phones feel case-less.
is that mi band 4 on your wrist?

These lenses are neat but it would probably be easier just to buy a used sony rx100 ii or iii if pocket-friendly photography is that important to you.
or any used Ricoh GR series
Nice.
Yee.
They ship to Canada, and sell in CAD... looks like they got a new client.
Look at all that pre-COVID action
The lenses make the phone look stupid but the results are fantastic
It does make it quite bulky. Totally worth it though
Give me the pixel 3a
No. Mine.

The 4k recordings are good though.
Buy pixel 3a xl = 479$
Moment wide lens = 119$& Moment Tele lens = 119$
Sum it up and buy a galaxy s10 with a flagship CPU 😂
