Best Yielding Hazelnut Varieties on Gubb Farm in 2021

In February 2020 we planted two-year-old Cosford, Nottingham and Webb's Prize hazelnut trees. We harvested the trees in October 2021 at three years of age, to see what variety produced the most nuts and the largest nuts, at this early stage in their growth. We want to track the yield over time from the different varieties to identify which trees should be cloned for future planting and to identify which varieties are best suited to the climatic conditions in Fermanagh in Northern Ireland.
