The colors you mixed remind me of beautiful rich velvets. They would look gorgeous for an autumn wedding..less traditional but represents a more nature inspired palette. Loved all of these Kelly 😊
I have all these van Gogh colours, except the oxide black, which I've now ordered! I love the way you do your mixing swatches and am slowly working through my collection doing the swatches your way. It's really fun, but I have yet to master your water flicking technique, but I'll keep at it in the hope that I'll get there in the end...
You are going to love the Oxide Black, it is so delightful watching the color mixes have that little touch of granulation because of it. Glad you found my swatch style so inspiring, yeah!
These swatches are gorgeous! My favourites are the Dusk Green mixes. They look like a row of different conifer branches with the effect of the water splashes.🌲💚🌲
Beautiful. I learned on Van Gogh... i started with Cotman but always thought my pieces looked dull and amaturist and that drying shift is awful (i do still like cotman mauve, indian red and turquoise). But once i tried Van Gogh, i gave a lot more time to paint.... I have since moved on to professional, but my portable painter will always be van gogh for tribute, lol. It was a good move to add these dusk colors to the van gogh line. I like using dusk pink in some of my mixed professional palettes.
I love that you still have them in your portable painter. VG raw sienna is on my permanent palette, I just can't find a brand I like better. Thanks for watching!
These are really gorgeous colors. I like the way they look almost marbleized when you flick the water on them. They sort of remind me of the Derwent Graphitint paint pans.
They are incredible with the splashes for sure, so much depth and texture that just make me happy. I don't have the DG paint pans but now that you said this, I want to look into them. Thank you for watching!
It is reasonably priced in the US as well and I absolutely love the quality of their watercolor. Glad you will get to play with these weird yet wonderful colors!
i need to see these used in a painting. I will have to check your channel. I have to admit I don't like swatching videos without a painting example, but you came up on my feed so I thought I'd watch. you did a good job at swatching though
It is all about the swatching and color mixing, not about the finished project. I want to encourage you diving into your palettes and seeing what they will do for you. Thanks for watching!
The dusk colours already contain oxide black. It's what makes them dusk as it were. It's useful to buy a tube if oxide black too so you can alter the amount on the dusk colours.
Yes, pull them out and pick the ones that don't even look like they belong together. Those combinations are where the real magic happens. Enjoy and thanks for watching!

What a wonderful suggestion and the richness of the velvet texture would be perfect with this palette. Glad you enjoyed the weirdness Laura!
My favorite is the last line, greens. And using all, I see the northern lights! Beautiful pallette.
The northern lights, what a great inspiration for this palette. Thank you for the beautiful suggestion Maureen!
Yay another video! What a nice way to relax on the couch after mowing the grass in 101 degree heat. Thank you for sharing. 😊
Crazy heat for mowing, glad I let you cool off for a while LOL Thank you for watching!
Love to watch you mix colors & share your excitement with the mixes you really like 😊
They are always the ugly ones LOL glad you enjoyed it!
Interesting colors/mixes! I have started doing mixing charts using your method as it really shows more colors.
It is just a slight change but I agree, you get to enjoy more variations of color this way. Thank you for watching!

I love your 'weird ' colors! Stunning ! They remind me of a rocky path! Thank you Kelly
Thank you Karen and love what you saw them being used for!
Big fan of your Videos 😊
That is so nice, thank you!

It is such a unique color, isn't it? Bright yet nice and rich for darks, one of my favorites in this group.

Beautifully ‘weird’ AND affordable!! 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Very affordable which is why I love this line of watercolor, great colors too!

I love this palette so much
Van Gogh create a lot of weird colors which is really fun to create with. Thanks for enjoying this video!
Granulating watercolours are so fascinating.
I totally agree, thanks for watching!
Beautiful, so enjoyable! I need to mix some colors now. ❤
Thank you and I'm glad it has inspired you to play and experiment with color!
Yum! I just ordered the same colours. The Van Gogh brand is very reasonably priced in Australia. Thanks for sharing Kelly (-: Marion 🎉

I forgot to mention that, thank you. I purchased the Oxide Black to mix with my other colors for the granulation, it is a lovely combination.
Hi Kelly, thank you for sharing your videos . Are you still interested in the Strathmore travel journals?
Can you refresh my memory on these?
Wow. If we would only take more time to explore with the paints we have rather than to chase that new color.

♥️♥️♥️
Thank you for watching and hope it inspired you to do a color chart!
Oooo! I love Azomethine Green Yellow… or is that Yellow Green? 😂
It depends on when I was swatching but it is Green Yellow on the label LOL
