    Stray is really breath of fresh about within the post-apocalyptic genre, because there isn't a lot of games that focus from the animal's pov and how affect them.

    I only wish that we could've had a mode where we could explore all the places after finishing the game, just to go back and talk to the free bots, or just to explore again and just be a cat with no mission but to explore and chill.

    I loved this game, though to be fair my being a cat-person might’ve influenced my opinion very heavily. Anyway, one thing I did feel when roaming around the Walled City was.. depression. Depression and dread. The claustrophobic nature of the infrastructure was really depressing to look at, but I felt a connection to all the robots who somehow inherited what made humans humans: emotions.
    I wish this game was a bit longer, but maybe the length is exactly what it needed to be. I didn’t pay for it, since I’m subscribed to PS Plus Premium, but this game 100% is worth people’s money.

    I wonder, is humanity extinct or has left the city or has digitalized itself like b12?
    1. In the control room, everything is very neat. Show that they leave in an orderly manner.
    2. During the game, we can see many white chambers similar to the one in the secret room we found b12

    • @clan741

      only one room had access to only humans. Why everything else was neat was because the companions kept it neat and tidy. They probably threw the dead bodies from the plague into an incinerator and then continued on with their programmed duties.

    The first time I saw a screenshot of the game I thought it was a simulator and that helps the game to be even more surprising. If someone plays expecting a post-apocalyptic scenario, it may not have the same impact, although the visuals and animations are admirable. They were right about making the player always curious about what will come next. Now I'm curious about the world outside and can't avoid any videos talking about it. :)

    • @ross-carlson
      @ross-carlson 2 года назад +2

      DING DING DING - they haven't "evolved" - they ARE human, they are uploaded into the system just like the Doc/B12 was - that's the difference, the ones that are still "base" didn't get over written - so nothing has "evolved", they are just doing what they used to do since the process seems far from perfect.

    Def A LOT longer than 7 million years. 2 BIG clues. 1. Look at the clocks (Time Will Tell clue). They are 16 hour clocks, so 32 hour days. When will the earth’s rotation slow to 32 hour days? 2.3 billion years from now. Another clue; at the end, when they show you a picture of the earth and where the city is, look at the continents; they look NOTHING like they do today.

    I'm kinda surprised that reviewers aren't seeing parallels with anime films like Ghost in the Shell, Akira, Paprika, and the series Attack on Titan. Post apocalyptic worlds where humans have created destructive chaos either through trying to enhance human consciousness through biomechanical means, seriously advanced AI or genetic engineering OR in the pursuit of ending war and cultural dissension by making the ultimate weapon/doomsday device. Attack on Titan has walled cities to protect humans from giant human like drones that may have been made by biochemistry and possibly magic? And, of course, ignoring the obvious detrimental harm that has been done by pollution and waste mismanagement because it is inconvenient for the rich and would cost them too much to address it in any kind of meaningful way. Thoughts and prayers, Ya'll, thoughts and prayers...

    Since the clocks had 16 digits a day should have had 32 hours and since we know that the earth spins slower as time goes by it should have been 7 million years later and not 300 years later because then it would have only been 25 hours per day.

      There's no way in hell that robots and cats evolved to new stages and a bacteria grew to a animal in a few hundred years.. Millions make more sense.. It would also explain why we don't even see a human skeleton anywhere.. There are many levels with no zorks that probably would have skeletons if it was just a few centuries later

    • @dread46
      @dread46 2 года назад +1

      Well my interpretation of the 16h clocks was that this world is inherited now by machines who evolved beyond what they were programmed too and designed their own world. But how are machines, in our world, programmed? Via binary code or, which is also quite common, via hexadecimal code. Hence the 16 units to a day :)
