Name a player who gets more hate for his finals losses despite having inferior teams for 4 out of his 6 losses. O wait, there is no one who gets more hate for his losses, just LeBron despite his 2007, 2015, 2017, and 2018 rosters being far inferior to the teams he was playing that year. But yea he doesn't deserve some more credit than his teammates when he wins though right? It's not like Dirk doesn't get more credit than Jason Terry for winning in 2011 or Kobe more than Pau for winning in 2010?
Lmao people calling this man a hater because he's speaking the truth. That Warriors team was the best in the league before Durant, so adding him and winning a championship with him really doesn't say much. You people are going to tell me Durant's two are equal to Lebron's 2016? Lebron worked his ass off for that ring. Durant chose to join the best team in the league for his.
People bring up the fact that there is no more hand checking and make it seem like that made it infinitely times easier to score but back in the day when Jordan played you couldn’t play a zone or double team ever wonder why you never see Jordan being doubled on the final shot like with all the Kobe buzzer beaters it’s because it was against the rules at the time
@NikolaGoatic Thank you for fixing that my bad but the point still stands either way I would rather have Lebron getting 1 on 1 every time down the floor with hand checking than the complicated defenses teams play nowadays
Kobe Bryant Production matters. Regular season, this is ok. But , in the finals, you have to poop or get off the pot to be considered a champ. Girth and length and shot clock are considered. So, if you don't break big bread, your ring shot is dead. Your thrown is established in search of turd production. That's your legacy. Bron needs more crap on his resume to be the goat. 😎
Ring's are everything, why do you thing almost nobody remembers Steve Nash, Patrick Ewing, Charles Barkley, etc. I bet if Hakeem didn't win those two Rings, he would have been forgotten (by forgotten I mean like less talked about not like COMPLETELY forgotten). If Dirk never won in 2011, he would have been forgotten especially after that 2007 first round lost.
I’m not gonna lie an NBA police chief should have been two hot takes 1. Saying Bill was a fake goat (really if you think 11 ring is all Bill brought to the table then jeez) 2. Wow that shows you really really get behind these old heads. While he can’t average 50, Lebron, Harden, Westbrook, Durant, Kobe, Steph, and more can easily drop 35+ if given the green light, you want to know why they don’t. Cuz no NBA players has ever achieved any success scoring at that volume. It got Jordan 40 wins and a sweep and it got Kobe 45 wins and a first round exit. And also there’s already been proof that for one handchecking was called, especially for superstars, in the 90s, and there’s constant video evidence of guys not getting their head taken off going into the paint. I think Lebron was simply given a time machine would have easily been a 30+ scorer for his CAREER in a league that had average small forwards what around 6’7 to 6’9 and the weight being around 210-230 where he could literally bull doze everyone in his sight. I mean the guy who most physically resembles Lebron is Malone and when he was productive in the 80s-90s, this is a guy who was a 27 10 guy. Lebron who’s more skilled, just as big and is playing against, in comparison to Malone, smaller defenders and is able to get a head full of steam, honestly take more than just some rings from Jordan if he was just thrown in the 80s & 90s were Iso play was more rewarded. While Jordan would still be an elite scorer in today’s league, and I don’t know which side you are on for this, anyone who thinks that him averaging 40 points would make him still a 6x champion and a 5x mvp in today’s league is delusional.
@@MrSlashblade In the '92 and '93 Playoffs, he averaged 34.5 and 35.1 PPG. Sure, it's not a season but the game usually tends to slow down and the defenses usually tend to tighten up in the playoffs, but that's just my opinion.
Andre Ingram aka DJ Screw RIP look without offending you, again win people say Jordan would average 40 I truly don’t thinks it’s limited to one season It means in all of his prime years he’s averaging 40+ and that would lose titles, cuz Jordan had that ability in the 90s but he wanted to win. Again a playoff isn’t a season after season
Height back then was measured without shoes. That's why the players seemed undersized but really weren't. And small forwards today also have a height of around 6'7"-6'9" nothing much has really changed. You need to watch clips of basketball from the 80's and 90's. I think you'd be surprised that despite what ESPN tells you, the league looks almost the same as today. If you compare them side by side the only difference is the 3 point shot and people being more flashy because they played in a slower paced era.

@@XenoApe I mean... Kobe won 2 rings with teams that wouldn't even win 50 if they played today. The only other legit All-Star he played with after Shaq was Pau Gasol. LeBron has had way more help in his championship runs then Kobe did with his without Shaq. That's not even taking into consideration the MVPs and and Finals MVPs and sheer killer will to destroy anybody he played. LeBron has never been as intense in a playoff game as Kobe or Jordan were, especially defensively. LeBron's best defensive highlight in his entire career is that Block in the Finals against the Warriors. But thats just my 2 cents.
@@williamradler8712 Intense playoff game? Game 6 in the 2012 ECF, Games 6 and 7 in the 2013 Finals, the whole 2016 Finals, Game 1 of the 2018 Finals, and more. Sure Lebron has had a lot of help, but so has Kobe and Jordan. Jordan had Pippen and Rodman, Kobe in 2004 had Shaq, Karl Malone and Gary Payton (they were really old but they still produced well enough)
@Some Day So if you put Kobe on that Cleveland team, he would've won a championship? You weren't going to win anything with that Cleveland roster. Also you say he went up against Boston, but didn't Lebron beat a the 73-9 Golden State Warriors? The athleticism part is very true though. Never having to switch teams to win a championship is a really bad point, because Lakers GM made sure that the Lakers had pieces like Pau Gasol, Metta World Peace and Andrew Bynum so they could still compete, meanwhile Cleveland's management screwed him over, and did dumb things like letting go CARLOS BOOZER when he was a RESTRICTED FREE AGENT.
Stats and attributes matter way more than chips. I'd judge Scottie Pippen the same exact way if he won 0 chips or 6 chips. If he did everything he did, played clutch but didn't come out on top in the finals every time I wouldn't care. Ranking Basketball players to me is ranking how good they are at basketball.
That's just not true. Basketball legacy is made mostly in the playoffs, and winning is how we define greatness. If Jordan had zero rings he wouldn't be close to GOAT, he might not even be top 5. How can you rank who's "good" at basketball. Damian Lillard is probably more skilled than Shaq but we wouldn't even say Lillard is even close to Shaq in all time ranking. What about you? If rings and awards don't matter and it's just " how good they are" is Lillard better than Shaq? Would the top 10 look the same without rings?
@@Hidden_Seeker_ lmao bro stop. We're not talking about most skilled. Talking bout best. Lillard not close to Shaq. I don't know why you narrowed it down to most skilled. EVERYTHING MATTERS. Rings, stats, mvps, dpoys, scoring titles, and basically anything else that u can think about. But rings have this special weight to a players legacy, but it will NEVER completly define a legacy.

As a Hooper winning mattered to me when I had a team I felt like had a semi chance to win n help me win but when im on a sorry team it's all about stats
I don't think many people really understand the ring argument. Being a champion matters especially showing you can be the best player on a championship team. The amount of rings isn't really an accurate way of ranking great players though. The best TEAMS win every year. Rings and stats are a simplified version for casuals to understand basketball you have to know how to look at them in their proper context to evaluate a players impact.
Rings absolutely matter. Depending on the circumstances, the pressure applied to the moments at hand, & what you had to go through to get them, they can enhance how people can look at you as an all-time great. In my opinion, after Dirk won that title beating my Miami Heat, he cemented his status as an All-time great player. That one title had so applied to it to enhance his status as an all time great, for me in my opinion.
Rings matter to an extent but context is really important. For example if player A has two MVPs and player B also has two MVPs but also 5 rings, that doesn’t necessarily make player B better than player A, especially if player A had a crap team around him. So things like team strength, era, advanced stats, and the eye test are important when discussing the impact of rings on a player’s career. For example Dirk Nowitzki’s ring in 2011 where he was the sole star is much more significant than any of Kevin Durant’s rings where he had three other all stars on his team.
"Kevin Durant can't create off the dribble."

I feel like Dirk is either overrated or underrated. Some people underrate him when they say "he got one lucky ring" or "the mavs were stacked". But then some people overrate him when they forget about some of Dirk's underperformances.
3:46 that aged poorly. Tbf he improved alot since this video so you get a pass Dom
man, i love dom. i follow his second channel and it feels like he uploads everyday between the 2. maybe he does idk but i love his videos because 99% of the stuff he says i agree with. and plus he's one of the few basketball youtube channels that doesnt hype everything they talk about just to get views. thanks for the vids dom.
Damn nba Twitter needs to die. Rings matter but in consideration with personal achievements. Sometimes you're lucky to have a good team around you or you be Tmac.
This is why I like your channel. You expose ignorance, I love it.
This generation on twitter and reddit WANT LBJ as the GOAT that why stats matter, not rings and context.
Thats why they deprecated other Greats achievements and dont apply the same reasons when they "compare" players.

Rings matter if Lebron beats golden state in the finals, but are a team accomplishment when he loses in the finals 🤷♂️

Steph Curry The G.O.A.T I can see y ur a bandwagon just look at the name lmao 😂
Lmao people calling this man a hater because he's speaking the truth. That Warriors team was the best in the league before Durant, so adding him and winning a championship with him really doesn't say much. You people are going to tell me Durant's two are equal to Lebron's 2016? Lebron worked his ass off for that ring. Durant chose to join the best team in the league for his.
Love the content,
keep spreading the true facts.
People bring up the fact that there is no more hand checking and make it seem like that made it infinitely times easier to score but back in the day when Jordan played you couldn’t play a zone or double team ever wonder why you never see Jordan being doubled on the final shot like with all the Kobe buzzer beaters it’s because it was against the rules at the time
You could be doubled it's just that if you are doubled you have to leave your man and no one else is allowed to help.
@NikolaGoatic Thank you for fixing that my bad but the point still stands either way I would rather have Lebron getting 1 on 1 every time down the floor with hand checking than the complicated defenses teams play nowadays
Best series on the channel, so funny and entertaining
I hate when I really have to poop and then I sit down and just fart
Kobe Bryant I feel that
Kobe Bryant
Production matters. 😎

Rings matter. End of discussion.
Not as much as most ppl think tho
but not by itself
Correct, rings alone aren’t everything, But they are definitely a part of the bigger picture.
The whole reason you play basketball is to win the championship right? With that said accolades and stats matter TOGETHER, not individually
Loving this series! Keep it up please
Do not disrespect Dirk.
Great vid man! Like this new topic. “Kd cannot create off the dribble “. I cant help but laugh lol 😂
I’m not gonna lie an NBA police chief should have been two hot takes
1. Saying Bill was a fake goat (really if you think 11 ring is all Bill brought to the table then jeez)
Delusional? He was damn close. He averaged 35.8 PPG in the '92 Finals and 41.0 PPG in '93.
Andre Ingram aka DJ Screw RIP there’s a huge difference between averaging for a series vs an entire season
Always look forward to these

@@Hidden_Seeker_ yeah I know.
In this “ring chasing” era it doesn’t have as much weight as it used to but it still helps and at the end of the day that’s every players goal.
Voltaire did you just compared a guard to a center...
@@Hidden_Seeker_ lmao bro stop. We're not talking about most skilled. Talking bout best. Lillard not close to Shaq. I don't know why you narrowed it down to most skilled. But most big men aren't as skilled as guards. But guess what guards aren't as big, tall and strong and don't play as good of defense as bigs. Someone get this clown
@@jakeberube438 Then the fuck are you saying? How do you define who is "best"? It's not skill, it's not greatness because rings are a big part of greatness. What the fuck is it then?

"the one thing we do not do here is dirk slander without facts". Absolutely, dirk and melo are just not on the same level. Along with the stats you shared, Dirk remained productive into his late 30s and was turning down big contracts to stay with dallas while a 34 year old melo got benched by the rockets and he might be out of the league now. Theres just no comparison
Lebron’s actually a pretty good humble guy but his fans are ruining his reputation man smh. This feels like a ball family situation.
EVERYTHING MATTERS. Rings, stats, mvps, dpoys, scoring titles, and basically anything else that u can think about. But rings have this special weight to a players legacy, but it will NEVER completly define a legacy.
What makes me mad is the notion that the media has that NBA players care less about getting Championships after their first ring. They say free agency isn't affected by wins because "oh he already has a ring"

Good Question Dom
Winning a championship isn't easy you have go past 4 other teams back to back with minimum rest.
6:29 “Father Prime” haha I just found that funny because that’s probably a more appropriate term to use for players like Tim Duncan and Lebron
vruh i love you. vruh said its the stats that matter "Police , open the door" i died man
Dude the point is that rings arent what define how good a single player is. It defines how good the team is.

Man, I love these NBA Twitter Police videos.
Jesus that Jokic slender looking hella weak after he avg 25 pts 13 reb and 9 ast in the playoffs
