    These Hilux with the 2.8 diesel engines are extremely durable. We used to have a new one way back in 2007 it had the first oil change at 1000KMS. after that oil changes was done every 40,000kms/3 years. The car stayed with us until 2021 and 215,000KMS later it was sold. Car was mechanically OK. interior is nearly the end of its life due to severe usage and hard labour. But that drivetrain. really tough. We haven’t even serviced the transmission fluid, transfer case and diff fluid. what a great truck.

      Any other vehicle would have been on a 3rd engine swap with those oil change intervals, especially when worked hard....gotta love toyotas

      The 2007 hilux were fitted with either 1kd or 2kd engines which were 3.0L or 2.5L diesel engines. Not 2.8 as you stated .

      The only thing expensive in Thailand is gasoline and diesel fuel.
      Gas comes out close to $4 USD per gallon.

    This is another reason for me to explain maximum load.
    There is a limit because if you exceed that limit the spring is gonna compress too much and it will not straighten out as normal caused clearance issues and others.

      In SE asia we use pickup truck from daihatsu grandmax & suzuki carry gasoline +-1500cc, mitsubishi diesel L300 & isuzu diesel traga +-2500cc...for light truck +-4000cc diesel we use mitsubishi canter, isuzu NKR, hino dutro/toyota dyna, and nissan kuzer

      > 99% of the drivers in the US dosent even know how to use a Stick Shift nor would be happy to use it.
      > Surprisingly Quick - These just cannot do US highway speeds safely @ full load. We have half tons that do 0-60mph in 3secs, so if that's your thing, you are better off getting an American truck.
