That house with the sidewalk full of free items, is very generous to give back. I hope life treats them with kindness.
Always take art, sometimes the people clearing out these homes have no clue what the art is worth. Years ago, one of my aunts was about to throw out a lithograph someone gave her, she thought it was ugly. I had the litho appraised by a friend who owned an art gallery, it was worth about $1,500!

Those lamps are flipping amazing. Boudoir lamps i think they are called. I would ask no less than thirty for the pair. You could ask higher and come down but dont short sell yourself on those. Wow. Just wow. Can you imagine them all cleaned up and throwing rainbows everywhere!! There ya go windex them, shine them up so they are to beautiful to pass up!! Great finds today Renée.

What has life come to when I’m anticipating seeing what’s in trash bags. Well, I sure was surprised what was in the other opened trash bags which led to some surprises and even laughter. So life is really good with my Paper Moose subscription.

Smoking stand looks Art Deco, one just like it sold on eBay for about $100. Lamps are about $250 for the pair, can't believe all the drops are there. Great picking young lady! You did well not to take everything. Smart!
Well i way undervalued them lol I said take no less than 30, lol. But I would love to own them and thats the top of my budget.

Free is always good. I could never be this lucky! Those crystal lamps were the first thing I noticed. Gorgeous. And the jewelry was nice.
That Betty Crocker cookbook is a good find if it’s older. They are pretty popular.
OMG!!! What treasures in the trash today!!!! That vacuum is very vintage & likely worth some good $$$ ... and those lamps with the prisms!!! I love the gong. That Better Homes & Gardens cookbook is the BEST cookbook ... I have mine from the 50s that my grandmother gave me when I was a kid ... it was hers & she taught me to bake.
It's all I can do NOT to reach inside the screen and MAKE you take some of those things!!!! LOL!!! That little coral colored celluloid box could be worth something ...

Wish I lived closer to you. My daily kitchen dishes are willows (blue & white) and a red set. My Momma had 1 willow saucer when I was a child I always loved it. My Mom bought me most of a set when the grocery store had them when you bought groceries. Gave them to me for Christmas. 💕💖 Reminds me of both every time I use them now.

It’s free...100% profit!” But, then I realize that it’s not that simple. Storing, lifting, transporting...it all comes at a price. So,I get why you’ve just got to leave some things behind.

As Shannon, dumpster diving momma of two says : "you do you and I'll do me" which is a great way to live and it saves you having to explain anything to anyone! The other bit of the lamps that will sell are are finials on the top - lamps are often missing them

I enjoyed being a tag along today, you find some of the best treasures, glad you didn't take everything some one else might be in need of something that you left, in today's time there's always some that need a helping hand.the one thing that I liked were those beautiful lamps those are worth some money especially with all those prisms if they are glass they are worth more than the lamp. Be careful about pricing them.I have a small one not like those but similarly all the prisms are there.I've had mine for year's. But you did very well, you even give me some ideas. I always think it is beautiful how you share...you are a lovely soul and hope things are growing in all areas...it is wonderful to pick your areas i think..and you know a lot about some durable iron and furniture antique type decor...nice artist pieces..I am thrilled you picked the crystal lamps and some of the dishes...blessings and love.
I bought a huge crystal room chandelier several years ago...marked 90% off. Took it home and removed all the crystals. Used silver toned jump rings to connect them in hanging rows of about 8-10. I have close to 50 "icicles". They now are the highlight dangling from my holiday tree. The tree lights make them burst with color!

I wouldn't take less than $40 for pr of lamps, no less than $75 for ashtray stand. Greyhound or Whippet pcs are hard to find.
You're a class act Renee, & a very ethical Lady. I feel as you do about not taking everything. The pearl choker was lovely & definitely vintage. My Aunt had one she treasured & she lived to be 92. Every day is a new adventure for you & us. You're doing just fine 💐

The lamps are fabulous and I would use them in my home! I think they are turn of century.. Don’t dissemble them.. what a great find especially for free!
I wouldn't care to be yelled at but sometimes others who know a different genres can boost knowledge and maybe teach picker or their subscribers how much things can be worth.I like to learn. Just as it was interesting to hear how you chose.
My opinion is that taking all the free stuff would be a greedy for one person. Every one taking a few favorite items is nice. ps: silver necklace looks groovy on you!

Well done, all super finds. It's like a virtual treasure hunt. The lamps are my favorite. I do love the cage too for plants. I think that people putting out things for free are awesome. So thank you to them, if they happen to be reading this everywhere around the world. I live in Germany now, and people put things out for free here too which is awesome. And it's great to share with others who might need something. Taking some things and leaving for others is fair. And what you do with what you take is your business. Some people can't get jobs and can make a little money selling things on. The owner is happy to give it away for free so they don't have to transport it or dump it. It's heartbreaking when so many can benefit rather. Everyone wins. And it doesn't go to the landfill. I buy most of my things from second hand shops. I believe in recycling, repurposing, etc. I'm not crazy about mass produced superstores full of cheap Chinese junk. Vintage items are usually so well made compared to what is mass produced a dime a dozen. Thanks for a great video. Happy selling!!
So jealous of the tall ashtray.. my grandpa used to have that kinda.. so glad u grabbed the lamps too.. I think u will be surprised what u will get if you sell them.. I wouldn’t be able to sell them. That little wood wall piece with the spindles I think people used to put fake flowers in but it would be adorable hung on the wall horizontally and display your vintage small linens or hankes.. You got some some cool things!!!

Oh wow ... those transferware plates at 2010 have good value ... the blue on top and the red on the bottom. Just a tip to remember that. Easy to look up. And yes, lamps are gorgeous.

Im so glad you took the lamps"i was willing you to pick them up coz there Beautiful (id love those) and i love the greyhound ash tray stand also xXx ive 4 bird cages in my garden which i bought from a garage sale,for £3/5/7/10 each , i wrapped solar fairy lights round each one and popped trailing plants in two and an old mother mary statue in one and an old Jesus statue in another (im not particularly religious) but there quite old and weathered plaster statues and they look so good hanging on the side of my wall in my garden especially at night xXx
I love the bird cage. I also found a beautiful old iron birdcage at the curb!!!
And those lamps were glorious. Grab those Betty Crocker cookbooks. I always sell them for 20 to $25 online.

Coro jewelry was popular in 50's and 60's. On higher end, costume jewelry.
Again, a fun video. The blue plate from Japan was pretty. But the egg cup with the green band! Would be so cute at Easter with a fuzzy chick or decorated egg in it. Easter is an important day for us and I love decorating for it. And just to brag a bit, I have a chalk ware bunny!

Do what's best for you and your business, Renee. Doing this part time takes a lot of compromise and if you don't have a ton of storage space, it can be difficult to organize your inventory. I think you ended up with some neat and interesting pieces. Would be curious to see if you end up with anything else out of those buckets and bags. :)

Your spot on with taking only those things that interest you or that you know you can flip at the flea market. I would have passed on the lamps because in my area I wouldn't be able to give them away. If I took them I would have committed sacrilege and taken all of the drops off and sold them separately Hopefully you wont get stuck with them over the winter.
I only take things I know I can resell or use at sales. I did pick up some free boxes of cereal that someone had put out. They were not anything we would eat, but they were still sealed and the dates were good. I donated to our local food bank. Have found a few neat things in "free" boxes, but I only do yard / estate sales or thrift stores. Could not bring myself to pick other people's garbage. But I do love watching Renee!

My grandfather had one of those ashtray holders, I have no idea 'who' in my family inherited it. I usually inherit lots of glassware. I would have taken the pink patterned dishes, they looked like English stoneware. But that's just me, I love vintage dish ware and glassware. I don't care if my dishes and glasses don't match, it makes dinner with guests more interesting, there's always a discussion about 'where' I got so many interesting pieces.

When you were looking at the crystal prism lamps... could you hear me Yelling. Pick up the Lamps. Pick them up!!! I could breathe only when you picked them up... those lamps are like Levi’s - they go with Any Decor. I have seen the crystals (cut glass crystals) go for $10. Each! ♥️❤️🌶🍉🍎🍅🍓🍒❣️👠🧣🎒🦞🦐🦑

Renee, I think that your subscribers, I am at times one of them, that "yell" at you to take everything (I didn't think you should take ALL of the stuff this time) is because they are thinking of you and want you to make money and you getting closer to realizing your dream. Plus the stuff you take is free, therefore what your sell is 100% "gravy" and the stuff you don't sell you can donate in stead of it ending up in the landfill.
Yes your friend is right, he is also long ahead he can do that. You are starting.... and the thing is a dollar is a dollar, a dollar that you didn't have before. Plus when selling at the fleamarket you have to have dollar items when selling, it will bring people to your stand and in turn buy the stuff that costs more. As long as the stuff is good and people can use it.
The thing is your subscribers have your best interests at heart and they want you to be successful in finding items and selling them. But in the end, a dollar is a dollar especially when the stuff is free!
I understand where both you and Renee are coming from as "Yeah" a Dollar is a Dollar that you didnt have before and 100% Dollar items will being people over to your stall "it would definatly bring me over" lol 🤦♀️ but there is the storage issue and transportation to consider and many of types of markets that Renee sells in specialise in collectors items and many collectors dont want to rumage at that type of sale as they pretty much know what their looking for and if they see you regularly and see your still selling the same things you've had for wks and wks they will eventually just not bother to go and have a look and so Renee could be missing out on a high profit sale because of that!!! But totally see both sides and i must admit that i very often find myself shouting at the screen OMG , PICK IT UP Renee and TAKE IT!!! lol xXx

I have two of those old Band-Aid tins, from the 1960s, with the fashionable lady on them. I saved the some of the last available metal Band-Aid tins, unfortunately, the interesting graphics were no longer on the tins.
The lamps are gorgeous. I have a similar bird cage and paid 20 Euros few years ago, it's great to decorate. That was a good trash treasure day Renee! Have a wonderful weekend!

I totally agree with you not to take it all. You know what you can sell. Love the lamps, a lot of the things could even go into a garden for display. Many possibilities. Like you said you don’t want to be a hoarder. It is a good idea putting things out for free and whatever goes is less to haul away for them.
I believe you did the right thing.
