@@janicegordon4108 check out her vlog titled "Get To Know - The Girl Behind The Paper" it's just from this past May 12, 2020 and you can do a search for that title or just go to her video tab and scroll back a bit, 2 months. It's a short vlog about the naming of her channel.
It kills me that someone would put magazines from the early 1900's in the garbage. So glad you found them Renee, and also looks like you have a good source for many more videos!
I'm pretty sure that with the right audience, those Designer magazines will sell for a pretty penny. Old fashion stuff can be very sought after. Congrats on the amazing finds. I'm so glad those treasures were saved!
Looks like another great score. On Monday of this week I saved a hand stitched quilt from the trash with a date of 1907 stitched in one of the squares. :)
Oh my God! The universe is giving you treasures in leaps and bounds. I was hoping you were going to take the lace and crochet items. I hope someone else picks them they were so pretty. I love that we get to see more of these mystery treasure bags and from a different house it's nice getting to know about another family. Your adrenaline must have been really pumping. I love the little travel inlaid writing desk and those designer magazines are amazing. 1903! What an amazing piece of fashion history. All those prints, especially those florals. What a score! I'm excited and I didn't even find them! Thank you so much for sharing x
"Be sure to subscribe because you don't want to miss out on any trash." That's not a sentence you hear often. Made me chuckle. (Subscribed from your first video.) 😊
I found a brilliant way to remove musty smell from paper or other items, buy a bag of bbq charcoal places several bricks inside a muslin or lightweight fabric bag then place your items inside a plastic tub, add bag of charcoal and seal let sit several days and charcoal will absorb odor. Works great inside old suitcases or boxes, etc. this works better than baking soda or even freezing. I just did a tub of old books, literally no musty smell.
I love it when you look in a box or bag and you’re just so jubilant! So nice of the family to let you in the house. Cant wait to see your haul, your good fortune is ours as well. I can’t believe they would throw out boxes that are still in good condition, I love boxes, they’re my weakness!✌🏼❤️
WOW! So many treasures!! My grandmother had the same inlaid box (I have it now) - if you look inside it should have a hidden music box :) Originally it would have been a sewing box table and standing on four legs. Those were made in Italy (Sorrento ware) - ca. 1950s. Can’t wait to see more from this amazing haul...truly a lucky day 🤗
Renee I love your passion for saving history. When you speak of being lucky at being at the right place, right time, all I can think of is that you are blessed! You reap what you sow. Fun, lovely things in this video. Can't wait for the next!
WONDERFUL OLD TREASURES here!!! Love the old Designer Magazines, and beautiful picture frames!! I can’t wait to see more, and hope you do get to go back!!
I just felt giddy right along with you. My grandma was postmaster in Basalt, CO and I have a huge stack of postcards she saved. When people would go on vacation they would send them to her from all over the world. They are so fun to look through.
Wow, Renee, what a treasure find! I'm sure you'll have fun with all the Ephemera! Those design magazines are now past copyright, anything 1924 or before so you could digitize & sell on Etsy, journalers would love them! Look forward to more videos!😸
They're almost like custom built trash bags. That ephemera score is unreal. Think the only way your day could have gotten any better is if a moose in a blue suit wandered by and offered to give you a hand.
Your excitement is infectious. I can't tell you how much I enjoy your videos and the enthusiasm you show. As a lover of old books, ephemera and collectibles I share your feelings. And your respect for what you discover is great. I wish I had found your channel sooner.
Amazing find!! The wonderful items you saved from the landfill. Those Designer magazines are 117 yrs. old. Amazing that they’re still in decent shape and someone can re-live a part of history with them. Can’t wait to see what else you found.
Oh my goodness!! I was so excited I almost tinkled. LOL. What a fantastic find....and more to come. Just goes to prove that we are exactly where we are supposed to be at exactly each moment! Yes, the Universe answered your requests!
You are a sweet soul and it is a great comfort to not waste someone's things I am sure many of us can not keep all things and it hurt's so much...xoxo. Ahh my grandpa was born in 02 and we played with his old old rackets like that as kids!! Oh that inlaid lap desk...wow.
Oh my goodness. How lucky could you be. That is amazing and still get a chance to go back and go inside. Please make sure you take us on this ride with you. Totally understand about not taking us inside the house. But let us go through all the boxes and bags with you. Stay safe and God Bless
Wow, your so lucky to be able to do this. Over here(UK) we are not allowed to put trash bags out. We have different bins for different waste. Garden, recycling, food etc. Can't wait to see the album, and what's in the bags. Xx
Yesssssss. You made friends with the people cleaning out a house!!! 🙌🙌🙌. You for all kinds of goodies. I can’t wait to see what else is in the bags!!! Thank you for sharing.
That Foley Food Mill makes great applesauce without seeds, filaments or skin. It might look like an antiquated device, but people are still buying and using them!
I'm so excited I had to pause the video just to comment! My FIL had an obsession with Napoleon and I think we now have the world's largest collection of postcard Napoleons. Your enthusiasm makes me so happy!
Happy for you Renee that you found more wonderful treasures, and you hopefully will get to see what else they have. Just the look on your face when you find something awesome makes my day.
always take old picture frames. I used to collect postcards, my dream was always to find old postcards in the trash. amazing what you find and can tell a lot about a person by the trash
The potato masher is a grinder. Momma had one she used to make blackberry jelly. Im sure she used it for other things, i just remember her grinding berries .. tks for sharing.
GOOD THINGS Come to GOOD PEOPLE! And you are the BEST! i LOVE old books and when you pulled out the full postcard album or old postcards, I almost fell out of my chair!!! What a find, can't wait to see them!! THANKS!!
that's awesome! what a bessing! that's why I'll ask the home owners of they have other stuff when theres a big clean out like that. I'm so happy for you!
Awwww, postcards on top of old books! Too sweet! I have a postcard collection that I'm trying to organize and display. Do you collect postcards and display them? Or use them in crafts? If you have a favorite storage option, let me know!
I was just saying in Yesterdays video Renee that you need to ask TacoStacks and BlueBus Dave to keep an eye out for a small pickup truck that has your name on it. (Imagine if it was Green too?) Would have come in handy today. *I wouldn't even bother taking the time to try to look thru the bags if they are books. Just GRAB them and look later. You can always recycle them in the recycle bin
Hello Rene just watching your wonderful finds from new clean out you didnt have to climb the mtn you flew straight to the top I'm so excited for you great things come your way for amazing individuals 😎😚🤗🤗🤗🤗
Wow, awesome finds! I think you must be my sister from another mother LOL as I love ephemera, I love anything green, love melmac and love vintage Halloween! Keep on bringing us great RUclips entertainment. Who needs a tv?!
Oh man, I bet your heart was racing! What an awesome score. So happy for you. Now if they have a ton of holiday decor waiting for you that would be incredible 😍
I don't think this home will have much, if any, of the vintage holiday items. If they did, oh man! But, I am still happy with all of the great things that I found!
Wow!! Congrrats on a second great wellspring!! It's been a long time since it happened to me, but to be invited in is amazing. Free is great, but don't shy away from offering to buy things either. I got an entire cleanout that way. Cheers!
The God Bless our Home was probably hand stitched on perforated paper (most often it is) And it might fit in the long frame with the carved leaves at the corners. That was a pretty classic way to display those things.
Such great finds! Some of those vintage advertisements for soap and such would look so cool framed and hung in a bathroom! Glad you found another favorite "house of bags"! Looking forward to see you go through each bag. Who would have thought opening garbage bags on RUclips could be so much fun to watch!!!
That freaks me out that people would put those items in the trash. Good on you for rescuing all of it, especially those Currier and Ives prints and postcards. The prints alone could be rare, thus valuable! From, Safi
The 'God Bless Our Home' items appears to be a pattern for doing embroidery due to the grid that it is printed on. Instructions could be printed on the back.

You deserve your special finds Renee!😊🐱😀
Can I ask where the name Paper & Moose came from ? X

Those 1900s magazines are EVERYTHING! 😍😍

Those early 1900s magazines are stunning, so glad you were able to save them. I don’t understand how people can just throw stuff like that out.
How lucky can one person be??? Keep the racquet for decor!! This is so much fun to watch!

11:12. That's for making tomato sauce from scratch. It takes the seeds and skins of the fruits so you end up with perfectly smooth sauce.

I store my sterling silver jewelry in a silverware box and I never have to polish it when I want to wear it.
Smart
Great idea!!
Why does it keep it from tarnishing?
Carol V I assume that the fabric lining is impregnated with something to keep silver from tarnishing. Also keeping sterling out of the air helps too.
Great idea.
So happy for you, love the old magazines, and pictures of birds and flowers. .
That paper ephemera is phenomenal.

Hi Renee, just put a little dish of Baking soda in the flatware box, it will absorb the smells and any dampness 🙂👍🧡✌
When you put good out into the world, you get good or better back. You have integrity and that will get you places you deserve to be.
Wow! I am beyond excited for you! I can’t wait to see the rest😊
i love the silverware boxes. I gut them and line them with fabric and paint the outsides. Beautiful trinket boxes
So glad people like you are there to save these wonderful things from the trash pile! Can't wait to see what else you find, tfs!🙂
Yes, the box is definitely inlaid marquetry and ita writing box. The quills would go under the wood on either side.
Also called a portable desk!

You can make a mold of the leaves & things on the frame and make plaster of paris replacements and paint them to match.
I would want to make a mold of one of the carvings for things like resin and papiermache, too.
Renee, those "Designer Magazines" are selling for $45 a piece on ebay. You scored GOLD!!!!
