Ever since watching The Outsiders in school, Matt Dillon has been my favorite actor. So far, I’ve watched five of his other movies and the entirety of Wayward Pines (which was amazinggg) He’s so underrated and underused. A very talented man :)
In a way, he's starting to remind me a bit of Alfred Molina. Would've been amazing to see Matt possibly portray Doc Ock in a Spider Man film (NO tom holland) sometime in the future...

Underrated lol Ur a goof ball, The villain Matt Dillon be going movies Since he was a kid, Still in 2023 be doing filmz, What's with the word Underrated Then the next momos types facts.
He always plays an asshole though, that’s what it seems like anyway. He was the bully in “My Bodyguard.” He was the rebel Dally in the Outsiders and he was a racist cop in Crash. Now I know he doesn’t play that role in every movie he’s in but in his more “famous” roles he always plays that type of character
@@nsasupporter7557And? That has nothing to do with who he is personally. That's good casting. Plus skill on his part. His aesthetic lends to the tough guy even though he's successfully played comedic roles like in "There's Something about Mary". Then he goes back & plays a serial killer. He has tremendous skill & range.
@@TainaDelamar711 uh… yes I know that!! You just wasted your time and effort typing out a completely pointless response! I know that’s not how he is personally! It’s called being an actor! 🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴🥴 I was just making a point and you had to unnecessarily draw this out into something it didn’t need to be
Great and sadly underrated actor! So many great performances, but in my opinion, Dillon's career best was "The House that Jack Built." Besides the film itself being disturbing, but I was still blown away by Dillon's performance. It's unlike anything we've seen him in before. He's incredible in it. He definitely gave one of the most unforgettable, brilliant performances from the 2010's.
I have only seen maybe a half dozen of his other movies but I'm just a few years younger than him so I've known who he is since I was 13 or whatever. But I look at him here and I don't even see him as Matt Dillon. That's gone. He's Jack.
@@mikefallopian3191he always plays an asshole, that’s what it seems like anyway… in his more famous roles. He plays the bully in My Bodyguard, the rebel Dally in the Outsiders and a racist cop in Crash
I was seven when I saw My Bodyguard in theaters and it was filmed in my hometown of Chicago. Matt’s performance of playing a bully was a powerful one. So many great performances throughout his accomplished career. That being said, his performance in The Outsiders was a World Series grand slam home run. I’ve always felt that Matt has “kept it real” by being sincere in interviews throughout the years and has been down to Earth. He’s aged remarkably well and has a “cool” charisma still to this day.
He always plays a “bad character” though. Like you said he played the bully in My Bodyguard and he was the rebel Dally in the Outsiders and he played the racist cop in Crash. I know that he doesn’t play that type of character in his less famous roles like Wild Things, One Night at McCool’s, There’s Something About Mary etc. but those were his less famous parts
Drugstore Cowboy is quite an advertisement for opiates. It begins like it ends, but the celebration of scoring drugs seems like so much more of a focus than Bob/Matt's character's redemption which is short lived and his optimism at the end is knowing that he will have access to painkillers as a result of getting his ass kicked. It is a beautiful film visually, but as a statement on dope it is misguided. Never do you see a character in dope sickness/withdrawal. We get that in Basketball Diaries and Ed Wood but both fail to truly make the point. I love how Larry Clark's book Tulsa inspired the black and white feel of Drugstore Cowboy, and Matt would have experience with Tulsa and black and white when he shot Rumble Fish there. Alfonso Cuaron made a black and white film in color as well, that being Great Expectations, both GE and DC use a monochromatic green scale. I'd like to see that mash-up of editing.
I just rewatched Drugstore Cowboy again, what a great film. The stories great and it really takes you to a time and gives you a feeling of what is would have been like. A Matts character is brilliant., i think with the music as well. Max Perlich is brilliant in it.
Absolutely love Over The Edge from 1979. I lived in Aurora, Colorado for a while as a kid, and realized I had ridden my bike passed many of the filming locations:) Good times:) it’s really really a built up Denver Suburb now, but back then it was all track housing and prairie:)
Yes, he always plays an asshole. That’s what it seems at least… He played the bully in My Bodyguard, the rebel Dally in the Outsiders and he plays a racist cop in Crash.
🤔Unless I dint get the memo.. He has stayed out of the tabs and crappy new tid bits.. 😌( good for him!!) throw back of a generation, hope he gets out there more..anyone who grew up back east in the early 80s remembers. His part my bodygard and ousiders.. The group of actors he started with were realy the"first bratt pack"...Ill have to keep an extra eye out for his name going forward (after this friggin pandemic )as director and also acting..✌😉😎 from the 80s ...heres to some one and everone( including Hollywood😏) ..geting us back to the theater ( if possible😑) with great scrips( writing) stories and great experienced actors and directors like Mat and Ron Howard...
Matt Dillon is having a real hard time maintaining eye contact. He's real jittery and nervous, and his head is bobbing everywhere couple times he's even rolling his eyes, wonder what's going on there, I hope he's okay
How can anyone love Rosie?? And Woody...not funny and loves the lil girls. This is Hollywood unfortunately. Matt I loved you sooo much back in the day. Even tried to get your family's number and had a great conversation with an operator. Yet...you disappointed me here...😔

He was awesome in Wayward Pines
Watch Tex, great story and was also based on the novel written by S.E. Hinton, she wrote The Outsiders & Rumble Fish.
@@RaiderX948 Tex is one of my favorite movies!
You can hear Young Matt just by hearing him talk 🥰 . He is one of my favorite actors . He was very good looking back then and still is 🥵
Home girl is thirstyyyy

He’s aged well.
He hasn't changed since 1998, that's cool
Wish he'd let a beard grow though. He looka better with it.
He is still hot!!!!
He didn't like sports like paul n Kevin did...we got him to play football couple o times but he would punch people when they tried to tackle him
In a way, he's starting to remind me a bit of Alfred Molina. Would've been amazing to see Matt possibly portray Doc Ock in a Spider Man film (NO tom holland) sometime in the future...
Great interview. Dillon is a very underrated, under-appreciated, and under-USED actor.

From My Bodyguard and Little Darlings...to Outsiders and Tex! And my fav Beautiful Girls!! Matt has always been a STONE FOX! ❤❤
I never saw Tex but remember when he left home to film it
My Body Guard is one of my favorite movies. An absolute gem. Matt was a great playing the antagonist in that film!!!
Great interview Danny! He’s still a fox. Drugstore cowboy is one of my favorite movies of all time, and he carries that film so well. 💖

He's giving me Nick Nolte vibes. It's his voice and mannerisms, both great actor's.
He did a movie called Headfull of Honey with Nick Nolte. Nick plays his dad who has Alzheimer's. Great movie and Nick is so funny in it!
