- Caller Izondo phones the show claiming he will defend some biblical principles - that slavery is moral in certain contexts, that men naturally have more power and authority in society, and women should submit in households and the church. Host Matt tries to clarify Izondo's exact views multiple times. On slavery, Izondo wavers, first suggesting some circumstances make owning people as property acceptable, but then denying he condones it. When Matt asks if it would be okay for Izondo himself to be a slave, he says no for "bias" reasons. He was incorrect in his pronunciation and obstinate in remaining incorrect when corrected. Which seems completely fair to me: i don't see how saying "look, this woman who spent 10 000 hours training for basketball is better at basketball than this guy who plays every other sunday" would contradict the claim "men are better at basketball than women", unless you purposefully misinterpret the claim.

He did make a separate comment about how to compare men and women, but he directly, explicitly said that no more than 100 women on planet Earth can beat him personally at basketball. He didn't say elite men basketball players or NBA players or a specific elite basketball player. The comment you are referring to actually defeats this claim as well, as he implies he is not an elite basketball player. The claim and the comment about how to compare are contradictory.

To be fair, male humans are typically stronger than female humans because they truly develop differently, bone density and size, muscle size, endurance and lung capacity, fat percentage vs muscle, height, weight, etc….all of these things are quite different when generally comparing males and females.

That was painful to watch. I really don't understand why this guy felt the need to call in and try to dishonestly defend his asinine views. If he truly believes those things he said, why be so evasive? Clearly he is aware that at least some people find his view abhorrent and deems it necessary to conceal his true feelings. What does this suggest about him? (nothing good). I haven't seen much of their stuff yet, but I understand dealing with people like this in this kind of debate would quickly drain you of said patience. The amount of times people refuse to answer simple yes or no questions because they know they can't back up what they are saying or don't want to admit it leads me to believe that if you muted some of these people it could physically kill them by denying their urge to talk about something else.
Yes,it comes off as harsh and uncompassionate but in many cases I believe it probably is the best way forward or even necessary.

I'm only five minutes in, but I do think that there was some unneeded hostility at the start of the call. I've watched a couple vids with these two before, so I know that a lot of people meander around and refuse to answer questions, but it did seem like Izondo was trying to answer questions when Matt kept muting him. Like when Matt asked "Why couldn't you answer my question the first time" it was kind of a "Well, my guy, you cut him off immediately because he opened his statement in a way you didn't like it.

Prisons Do use prisoners as slaves for cheap labor, though. It's a way to stick within legalities (Not owning them permanently, but still fot a long time. And you get praise for it being "justice".) And you still rake in profits. That's why most prisons are privatized.

Imprisonment is a form of slavery, especially when you factor in inmates working in prison factories and for corporations who are earning pennies for their work. This is one of many reasons why we need prison reform and a better way of punishing criminals.

Men are physically stronger, but that is irrelevant to what their place in society should be. Men aren’t stronger because they should be in charge, natural selection doesn’t have a goal. Men are stronger because being strong gave them a better chance of reproducing, which led to stronger offspring. Women are shown to have the same intellectual capacity as men, so they experience the world the same way and that’s all that matters in a technological society where physical strength doesn’t even provide an advantage over weapons and transportation etc.
I would argue that since prisoners are considered property of the state that can be forced to work (including working for private entities) they are indeed slaves and that this is made clear as an exception in the constitution ( “Neither slavery nor involuntary servitude, except as a punishment for crime" are the exact words) only drives that point home.
It's not the same as the slavery described in the Bible but it IS slavery nonetheless.
