I'll say that when Wargaming introduced the Battle pass to World of tanks, all tier 5 premium tanks seemed to be devalued, like the better priority onwards was to collect tier 6 premiums because they can grind battle pass points and earn the rewards, while also still make credits and experience, but with tier 5, it's a tier where you wouldn't want to deal with low tier seal cubbers in their 3 marked LeFH and overly maxed Light and Tank destroyers because of their toxicity
The only reason to play tier 5 is to fulfill the daily mission to be top player in terms of experience. Jump into Churchill III, don't suck too much and you have it done. Of course, doing it on tier 6-10 would give BP points, but would also take more time - if your time is limited, Churchill III is your best friend
All statistically strong/OP tanks will work, but Churchill III has an ace up its sleeve - for whatever reason it gets significantly more EXP, like someone accidentally gave the premium bonus added to base EXP as well. It's enough to not suck and to no one do exceptionally good in the battle to get 1st exp, rarely do I have to enter battle for the second time to fulfill the mission. And the tank itself is very strong so it's not hard to not only not suck, but simply do good
I gave it a spin yesterday, I was shocked, even with a turbo, this thing is as agile as a moose in a swamp. btw calling the T14 good is quite a stretch, its workable but you have to carry a lot of gold for the potatogun

One benefit of this tank is that it allowed you to make a video that indirectly helped me understand better when to take Off Road Driving! So, thanks for that at least! Will sell it to fund my Object 257 fund.
A few years ago i got the M10 RBFM as a present from a event. I have better camo (47+% when stationary/33% while moving), 522m of view range and 2479 dpm with 130mm pen with standard rounds. This is a monster tier5 comparing to this AMX. My empty garage slots increasing from 180 to 181 now....

If you are planning on buying lootboxes I'd say keep this tank, that way you get some gold out of it. I'm 100% sure it will be put in those boxes if not this Christmas then the next made up money grab event.
Do they put low tier tanks in loot boxes these days? I thought they were tier 7 at least, though I don't pay to play so I don't pay that much attention to them.
@@--_DJ_-- WG puts a few low-tier tanks in the lootboxes, mostly new ones. Last Christmas at T5 we had SU-2-122, A25 Harry Hopkins and German KV-1 with a few old ones (M3 light and Pz 38H 735) as further fillers. I forget if Matilda LVT and M4-85 were from last christmas or the one before that.
I only played one game so far. Wasn't amazed by it's mobility, but it was usable on D-Day-Map. I actually finished 1rst in XP, doing a combined of a little over 2k (1.1k damage, 1k spotting, about). It can't be used like the AMX ELC by any means and while they look slightly similar, I wouldn't even try to compare them. I'd rather drive it a little like a Russian light, but with some advantages of a French. Like, I was sidehugging an O-I. But it really does feel underwhelming when taking down artys and having to fire 3 times to finish them off...
As someone who’s played this game since the beginning, these anniversary tanks consistently feel like a slap in the face by war gaming. What is the point of giving out a tank like this? The game is 13 years old for Christ sake
Try Improved Rotation Mechanism, Additional Grousers and Coated Optics. Still horrible dpm but a lot more nimble. I had fun games with this thing, especially in tier 7. 1.4 k dmg and 2k assist (spot)... very nice. 😉
To make this tank fun they could have given it a 2 round autoloader with the same bad dpm, 2 second intraclip and better accuracy. Would have at least made the bad dpm worth it.
WG didn't want to give the sweaty French light players another seal clubber extreme like the AMR 35. This tank is bad, but I'll still keep it around for some extra crew training.

Agree, put vents, binocs and a rammer on mine and do the passive scout/snipe thing. I have good crews from my tracked french lights so it works with them. Will I play it often? Probably no (mainly some of the x3/4/5 days) but I prefer it when WG put BALANCED tanks in the game rather than O.P. ones.
10 months later and I re-ran into this review. I've played both this and the AMX ELC bis (with the 75mm) quite a bit -- 34 and 102 battles recorded, respectively -- and I wanted to comment on both from a more statistically mature point of view. Average position on team xp: ELC 4.51 (excellent), FL 11 5.41 (very good) Average experience per battle: ELC 392, FL 11 312 (437 with its 40% premium xp bonus) Average credits per battle: ELC 6.87k, FL 11 8.17k (premium bonus included) On xp missions and for earning credits it's better to play the FL 11, but to do better in general -- especially when chasing Battle Pass points -- it's better to play the ELC. One stat I haven't seen talked about is the FL 11's special ammo pen, which is 148mm, better than the ELC's by 15%, and in fact the second best of any Tier V light (after the M7 with the 6-pdr gun). Generally the FL 11 is better at taking on enemy heavies. With better aim time, accuracy, and pen the FL 11 is a better sniper but much better concealment makes the ELC a better passive scout; the differences in concealment strongly defines which roles I use each tank for. With twice the frontal hull armor and about 80% more mass the FL 11 is much better in the ram. Generally if presented with a good ram opportunity the FL 11 should ram an ELC; an ELC should avoid it. The FL 11 has three crew members, versus just two for the ELC: less chance of the whole crew getting knocked out. Statistically the ELC's armor has actually performed better for me than the FL 11's armor: 11.38 blocked vs. 5.91. Apparently all those armor plate angles on the ELC help it deflect rounds a bit better. And of course the ELC can be played as a tank destroyer with the 90mm main gun: two tanks for the price of one. Amongst the seven Tier V lights I've played the AMX 13 (FL 11) is right in the middle of the pack when it comes to average position on team xp. I enjoy it, I'm glad I didn't sell it.

I have had it become a bit more speedy with grousers and a turbo, but you really lose the scouting part of the tank. I think full scout build is the best way to use it so far.
I'm honestly delighted to see any new French LT in the game since they are my favorite, even better if it's free. This thing is really sluggish though and I still prefer my favorite tank in the game at a tier higher - the AMX 12 t aka baby batchat LT. Does anyone know when or if the Char mle 75 will be available outside of gambling? That one seems a bit more interesting.
yeah its reload is abysmal, 6 seconds for a light is pretty bad. but it has better pen then other tier 5 light tanks. im keepin it i like under dog tanks
I agree with you, one of underdogs is the 'Collectors' Panzer 1 with Improved Gun Laying Drive & Small Repair Kit, and try to only fire single click bursts..
Funny I couldn't put my tier 8 or 9 amx crews in this tank, they remained red and the stats of the tank for 5x crew didn't go up like a normal premium. I had to use a few french books on the already 100% crew it came with to make it work. Very weird.
I achieved my first M and it was brutal. A decent combined of about 3k and 4 kills, iirc. It was rough though. I got one shot a lot by arty and other tanks. I guess I can’t complain too much for a free tank. I like this tank better than the free Lago and Sahariano(sp)
I think this tank is good in packs. I've seen games with seven of these things on my team and when they all travel together, they can actually mosquito apart the enemy team really quickly. 3-4 of these is basically unbeatable on good terrain, because any enemy tank would have to play whack-em-all against 500 hp targets if they wanted to beat it. Also it's a better Tier 5 than the A-20 so I'm taking this any day over that. I don't think the guns on these things were designed for prolonged battles, but rather popping up from behind cover, quickly putting a shell in, and then disappearing while your teammates to the same. It's also good for firing at a tank when playing passive scout if your team is having trouble taking out a Matilda or something.
Unfortunately the whole point of the vehicle is that it was a purposeful downgrade of the AMX 13 75 that removed the auto loader due to it being impractical in Vietnam. Increasing the fire rate would be welcomed though as I laugh at the idea the Covenanter is beating the ever loving crap out of these.

For everyone that want to sell it... it is full fleged Premium tank, NOT special so 30% more creds AND 40% more Base EXP. The lower the tier the more Base EXP premium have. The best crew trainer for French Lights basicly for free ;).
It annoys me that WG doesn't bring out any decent mid-tier premium tanks anymore. All those tanks they do put out, are just bad. Sure, they don't need to be OP, but there's a difference between balanced and flat-out terrible like the AMX 13 FL 11 proves. At that point, the tech tree tanks are just flat-out better. Not everyone wants to constantly play high tiers, so why force us into playing them when one wants to play new tanks?

It's like that free T-34 they gave everyone and it was just a joke of a tank, most inaccurate tank I've ever played in in this game, and I suffered through grinding the M3 Lee back in the day.
My account is old, and without ever setting myself the goal of getting garage slots, I have at this point 363 of them, so selling this little tier 5 bugger just in order to get yet another one (+300k credits) is pointless. On the other hand, I think it's a decent tier 5 LT. Personally low dpm doesn't bother me in a light tank and yes it is somewhat sluggish, but the rest is good enough from my perspective. So I'm keeping it.
This after bothering to get 1 out of 3 marks on it. Is arguably one of the best passive scouts on tier 5 hands down. But at the same time one of the worst LT counter tanks on tier 5 along with the worst traction to get up to speed fast. But... It's still no A46.
Selling the tank for a garage slot really is from the past. Like 2015 past, not even 2020, we get so many free garage slots from events, battle pass or even daily missions, that you really don't need to sell tanks anymore.
I know what you mean, I must have at least 40 or 50 empty slots and I never sell any tanks they give us. I have quite the collection of useless low tier turds with that new tank smell still intact.

I have a good crow to this tank, but that does not say that I will play it. Mabe some day. Nice to get a tier 5 instead of the tier 2 and 3 tanks we got a year ago... The good things of the missions is to get a bond turbo for free or some other good stuff. Great for a free to play player.

Frankly this isn't really a gift since you have to complete missions to earn it. Past birthdays gave us really good gifts like the Super Hellcat and T50-2 and all you had to do was log into the game.

Had an existing super-crew from my EBR 105 to slap in it, seemed quite serviceable as a scout that happens to have decent pen on its gun.

I think once you kit it out etc it'll be a *decent* tank if played carefully, but other then that I feel they;re are better options at T5 :/

i got the tank and had probably my best game in a light since i started playing so that made me rather happy

I like to put a different crew for training and keep it for a day when super relaxed. 4 or 5 skill crew in a tier 5.

A-20 looked like it had lower DPM. Was I seeing things?
Only the 37mm stock gun, any other gun on it has more DPM, up to 2,2k dpm with 37mm autocannon.

The pen is btw the 2nd highest standard pen on a tier 5 light tank, 108mm is great.
It could have 200mm pen and it'd still be a garbage tank though.
At least it'd actually have something interesting about it too.
I'll keep it (as I never sell premium tanks) but rarely play it particularly as you can't accumulate Battle Pass points apart from missions

It’s a light tank, not necessarily a scout. It’s a medium-grade sniper that can spot for itself in the body of a light tank, lol.

Try it with a Turbo instead of Exhausts. It's a game changer for this tank.
I think if wg gave it a 3 or 4 round autoloader with slightly better dpm then it would be balanced
Unfortunately the whole point of the vehicle is that it was a purposeful downgrade of the AMX 13 75 that removed the auto loader due to it being impractical in Vietnam. Increasing the fire rate would be welcomed though as I laugh at the idea the Covenanter is beating the ever loving crap out of these.

@@sherbicko872it’s and ELC with a 75mm and a fully rotating turret, in my opinion this should have been the tech tree tank because it’s much closer to it’s tech tree counterpart and the ELC with the old 90mm should have been the give away cause it’s what really should have been
@@sherbicko872 Honestly, if Wargaming hadn't opened Pandora's box with Premium tanks being better than tech tree tanks, everyone would be welcoming this tank. However, since we know there are premium tanks better than the tech tree counterparts we are therefore disappointed. This was a tank made for a World of Tanks that no longer exists.
@@Collin_Cooper well yes. I agree. But the tech tree elc which is not very powerful is better than this one. If they made this tank as good as the elc while making it slightly different with the autoloader for example than i would be very happy. Even if the autoloader wasnt op

For everyone that want to sell it... it is full fleged Premium tank, NOT special so 30% more creds AND 40% more Base EXP. The lower the tier the more Base EXP premium have. The best crew trainer for French Lights basicly for free ;).

It annoys me that WG doesn't bring out any decent mid-tier premium tanks anymore. All those tanks they do put out, are just bad. Sure, they don't need to be OP, but there's a difference between balanced and flat-out terrible like the AMX 13 FL 11 proves. At that point, the tech tree tanks are just flat-out better. Not everyone wants to constantly play high tiers, so why force us into playing them when one wants to play new tanks?
KV-1SA is a pretty solid T5 heavy. Ez 1K for me most games.

@@joeblack5253 Thanks i actually like tanks like these. A prem tank that is actually as good as a tech tree. It also looks cool. I put a crazy good crew in it and are actually doing pretty well. But still not the best light.
It's like that free T-34 they gave everyone and it was just a joke of a tank, most inaccurate tank I've ever played in in this game, and I suffered through grinding the M3 Lee back in the day.

My account is old, and without ever setting myself the goal of getting garage slots, I have at this point 363 of them, so selling this little tier 5 bugger just in order to get yet another one (+300k credits) is pointless. On the other hand, I think it's a decent tier 5 LT. Personally low dpm doesn't bother me in a light tank and yes it is somewhat sluggish, but the rest is good enough from my perspective. So I'm keeping it.
Tank is called FL11...keeps calling it FL10. Somebody is having a Jingles moment... :D

This after bothering to get 1 out of 3 marks on it. Is arguably one of the best passive scouts on tier 5 hands down. But at the same time one of the worst LT counter tanks on tier 5 along with the worst traction to get up to speed fast. But... It's still no A46.
Talking about free token tanks - T14 is a beast, though i would recommend it at 8/10 times
This really is one of those tanks that need 6 equipment slots to be playable
T5 can complete clan missions. T4 can do anniversary missions.
Selling the tank for a garage slot really is from the past. Like 2015 past, not even 2020, we get so many free garage slots from events, battle pass or even daily missions, that you really don't need to sell tanks anymore.
I know what you mean, I must have at least 40 or 50 empty slots and I never sell any tanks they give us. I have quite the collection of useless low tier turds with that new tank smell still intact.
why there are stuff you cant sell while you can buy it ? why premium tank you can not sell them for gold at least half price or 1/3 ? i have a lot of styles and garage slot and premium tanks i do not play anymore

I did 1 battle in it, yeah it is not a fun tank, now it is resting in the garage without crew.
I like this lil guy, get to get another 2x for my 105 crew and I like the sillyness of low tier.

I have a good crow to this tank, but that does not say that I will play it. Mabe some day. Nice to get a tier 5 instead of the tier 2 and 3 tanks we got a year ago... The good things of the missions is to get a bond turbo for free or some other good stuff. Great for a free to play player.

Frankly this isn't really a gift since you have to complete missions to earn it. Past birthdays gave us really good gifts like the Super Hellcat and T50-2 and all you had to do was log into the game.
