  • My part-time gatekeeper duties at Midhope Castle allowed this very special visit inside the real Lallybroch.

    Thank you! So happy it's getting renovated. I don't think I ever realized how many stories / levels tall the house actually was.

    I live in Brazil, and here we study a lot about old stories and the middle ages, this in high school days, but I was always fascinated by old constructions, because my look is not just a building or a construction, I like to go back in time , and the Middle Ages is my favorite, I look at the structures and I keep thinking, wow, imagine at the time, these stones were placed there more than 600 years ago, by someone, I keep trying to imagine what this person's life was like, or who it was , as it was in fact to live in those times, someone put that stone there, and I am fascinated to see something that was placed there by someone that someone had a story about what life was like. I wish I had the privilege of stepping into these places, and seeing them up close with my eyes, I would travel back in time, but I'm glad the internet allows us to do that, even if from afar. thanks, great video.

    What a treat to see inside. Didnt realize how many stories there were. Amazing to see it now and recall how it looked when seen in outlander.

    How did it ever become so destroyed?

    • @heathereagle2984
      @heathereagle2984 2 года назад +2

      He mentioned a fire. Old structures also just collapse if they are made with a lot of wood, due to moisture, termites, or too much wear. If the floors were made with wood it would also make sense why a fire would ruin all the levels like that
