  • ive been playing skyrim since 2012 and ive never heard this dialogue,
    also ive never seen anyone cover this subject.
    probably an unsued dialogue about how paarthurnax teaches you how to summon odahviing
    probably an unused dialogue since Esbern is the one to teach you how to summon this dragon.
    i made a rough translation of the dragon lenguaje.
    please, please correct me if im wrong.
    im so suprised that i ve never heard this before.

    For those that don't know: this isn't unused dialogue, this is what happens when you complete the civil war quest before the quest "season unending" (I think that's what it's called). Since there is no need for peace talks, you skip the quest entirely and go to learn Odahviing's shout from Paarthurnax, which in my opinion makes more sense because why would esbern just know how to summon a dragon

    • @anthonym840
      @anthonym840 Год назад +27

      Esbern is pretty smart. I mean this guy predicted Alduin was coming before he even came. And no one believed him at first. Hes probably stuidied countless slews of information on the dragons and their names within the years of his exile. That makes more sense than u might think.

    • @domino_201
      @domino_201 Год назад +8

      The ancient Blades and Nords kept records of the dragons they slew. Esbern says so in dialogue and you even see one of these records: the Dragonstone you recover from Bleak Falls Barrow.

      @@anthonym840 I wouldnt say he predicted Alduin’s coming.
      The elder scrolls prophecised it and the ancient Nords believed he would, given he’s a big part of their folklore.
      He’s just the only person who cared and saw the signs.

    • @anthonym840
      @anthonym840 Год назад +1

      @@domino_201 How would that not mean that he predicted it though? U can still predict what might happen in these events. He knew Alduin would return. But he was one the only one's that believed that he would( at least among the blades, and other regular people) Everyone else just thought he was crazy. " cared," and saw the signs i think is selling him short, though .rather he believed more than anyome else did. Im not saying hes a prophet or anything. But the man studied dragons for years. I mean for godsakes He studied ancient Akavirian language. Hes probably studied more than that, trying to figure out how to stop it. He is a scribe after all. Im just saying it makes sense for him to know how shouts work.

    Someone absolutely has to add this back into the game with a mod, and then some. Say Esbern and Delphine don't even show up unless you go to them before the peace council. They could initiate the quest to kill Paarthurnax there, and if you kill him before the peace council, they will show up. If you don't do that quest, then you would have to go to Paarthurnax to learn Call Odahviing.

    In the original game (xbox 360) you had to go up to Esburn to trigger the dialogue. Otherwise you could have just went around the other side of the table and went to go to Arngeir who will point you to Paathurnax or go to him directly. There might be certain triggers to get it but all I know is I got it back then. If not I have no clue why the changed it in the new versions.

      Well maybe, just maybe, because I'm not really up for taking sides in the civil war, I'm not supposed to be hearing this? Both sides have good and bad reasons to them. It'd be better to be your own side, though, or at least be able to throw your weight as Dragonborn around more with the other jarls. Balgruuf is already able to confirm it, and Ulfric should know of the Dragonborn's importance at least to some extent.

    Would have made way more sense than learning it from some old man who has no clue what he is talking about or how to speak dragon tongue. Plus, this literally gave me chills listening to it. When I listened to Paarthurnax talk for the first time I got chills then too. I still always let him finish his sentences. Him and Durnehviir and Odahviing. I would let Alduin finish his sentences too since I like his voice buuuuut I mean come onnnn he IS my enemy. Who willingly listens to their enemy monologue and trash talk to them? No one! You smack them out of existence before they get a chance to speak! Now, the only other character I respect enough to listen to in the entire game is Arngeir. Out of the ENTIRE game. Him and the dragons. No one else. I can not think of literally anyone else. I like Cicero only because he is funny but I can't have him as a follower because he gets annoying after a while and he doesn't work well with my playstyle. I like Isran's voice but not him. OH! WAIT! I TAKE BACK MY WORDS! There is one more character but I technically don't listen to him speak all the time lol. I adore Madesi. Something about him. Maybe his name, his personality? I don't know. I downloaded a mod once that allowed me to marry whoever and married him it worked sort of but was very glitchy. He however said the cutest things out of any of the spouses I have heard. There are a few other characters I would be interested in marrying but have not found a mod that works for it yet. Captain Lonely Gale. Him mainly because he is handsome. I haven't really talked to him much but I like that he is a sailor. Then oddly enough this one bard in a tavern. What was it. I will search it up. Ah! That is it! Dead man's Drink in Falkreath. Delacourt is his name. I don't know why and I can not explain it. I heard him sing the song about the dragon born after you defeated alduin and for some reason it made me wish you could marry his character or hire him to be a bard for your house because his sang the song so well. I really want a custom follower who literally just has a genuinely nice manlyish voice or raspyish voice to follow you and just hum tunes while you travel or sing soft songs. And not talk to you and comment while you are in dialogue with other npcs. That would be my literal dream follower. Matter of fact if they could hold a torch they don't even have to fight. Just be essential and hang back during battles and have the light step perk so they don't set off traps on themselves. Essentially what I want is a portable musical torch. 😂 Sounds terrible when I phrase it like that. They can obviously have whatever personality. In fact I love the humming that Teldryn does but he just repeats himself too much that having him around is almost getting to the level of frustrating that is Serana. And she doesn't even sing to you unless you download that stupid mod that isn't even the original voice actor. Not saying the mod voice actor isn't good at their job it's just is that technically even Serana anymore? To me it is like when you watch a movie and a main actor is taken out of the movie and replaced with another actor who plays the character totally different and it is well done but just not the same as the original. Like for instance when they took Johnny Depp out of fantastic beasts and where to find them and replaced him with Mads Mikkelsen. The guy didn't do a bad job but it just wasn't the same character. He just wasn't Grindelwald. He tried to put his own spin on it which can be very tricky to do with a character done by Johnny depp. Because Johnny Depp's characters are so in depth and have so much character and he puts his own little twists on them. With the first Grindelwald I knew I wasn't supposed to like him but I did. And the second one, he felt heartless and cold and like he had no personality at all. And I felt no connection to him at all anymore. I think if he had the opportunity to do the movie from the beginning then likely we would have been able to connect more with his character. Sorry for ranting. I got passionate about random stuff. 😅
