I am 50 years old and I can remember eating all these candies in the 70's and 80's!!
Yeah, me too!
Charms fruit flavor suckers from the 1950'''s????? I loved these candies. Cherry was the BEST.
Loved NECCOs the banana and chocolate the best
It's a love hate relationship with me lol
Mallo cups are criminally underrated!
Oh they are so good. I wonder why!!
Yes, they are the marshmallow inside does taste more like a toasted marshmallow. They were my favorites and, I get them when, I find them.
And you got points
Always felt the name somewhat disturbing...
Except they changed the recipe, so they aren't what they used to be! CupoGold's are better, except they don't have those coconut bits.
WOW! A blast from the past. Good to see that I can still go get some of my old favorites. Thx.
Just my $0.02
I loved KITS Taffy... Five little candies for a 1 penny.. Anyone else remember those...
I remember them. Boyer Smoothies, Ice Cubes, Sugar Babies, etc.
My favorite is bb bats.
Fiz-wiz were like pez candy in a way but the packs were twice as long so you got more of them
I grew up eating candy cigarettes, despite never making a habit of the real thing. You used to be able to "puff" on them and it would look like you were smoking.
I only remember the ones that looked like chalk & the chocolate ones of course.
I really enjoyed the bubble gum ones.
I remember all of these candies. When I was a kid, my uncle had a little hometown grocery store with the penny candy counter. He'd allow us to get a small bag of candy sometimes when we went in to return soda pop bottles. He had everything they showed on this video and a ton more. You could fill a small bag full of candies for like 25 cents...lol Those were the days.
Bubble gum cigs & cigars plus the chewing gum made to look like chewing tobaccy
I LOVE Mallo Cups!
Me to, I’d rather have them than a s’more!
I tried them and was surprised how good they are. They used to be everywhere in PA but since I moved to WA I can't find them.
@@lolineko2083 I'm in Altoona often give me your address I'll ship you a box lol
The Cracker Barrel gift shops have a lot of nostalgic candy.
Yup
All through the south you can still buy most of these from stores. The south is stubborn like that.
Interesting
Then there is the ever-elusive...ZERO BAR.
we have those here in tn
It's still seen around Michigan/Ohio/Indiana
I remember the white chocolate freaked me out as a kid….seemed unnatural….like brown eggs…now all I eat are free range brown eggs, lol
I loved bit O honey when I was young and I’m 74.
You can still buy Mallo Cups in the stores around here just like you could 55 years ago.
Here too. But I live pretty close to the factory in Pennsylvania
I've seen them in our store.
Tractor 🚜 supply stores also.
I remember: Bottle caps, candy cigarettes, Pez, the gross peanuts and the lips (was a kid in the 80s)
Circus peanuts ?
Circus Peanuts are a sort of flavor/texture combo you cant really find in anything else. They are Banana flavored and the texture is kind of like a firm nougat that melts in your mouth over time. They are weird for sure. But there are plenty of people who like them for more than just nostalgia's sake; Myself included.
Agreed! I love 'em.
I'll get a craving for them about once a year. I'll buy a bag, get through about 3 or 4, toss the rest out, and I'm good for another year.
My grade school routine was buying 10 Pixy Stix on my way home. I would empty them into a small bowl trying to paint a pattern and eat it with a small spoon while watching a cartoon show. Quick Draw McGraw IIRC.
I also liked the ones they put in the bigger pouch and then, you could eat the stix when, you were done.
....followed by a massive sugar energy rush?
My favorite candies as a kid were candy necklaces, Astro Pops, and Marathon bars. Marathon bars are still sold in the UK, but under the name Curly Wurly.
If you're stuck with a bag of Kandy Korn, mix it with an equal amount of shelled roasted peanuts, or dry-roasted peanuts. Eaten together, they taste like a Payday Bar.
All these candies in this video you can buy on the west coast in almost every store.. Gotta love Washington State...!
Oh Mallow cups!
Fifth Avenue.
Three Musketeers.
Mars.
Clark.
Milkey Way.
Kit Kat.
Reeses Peanut Butter Cup.
Twix.
great chocolate bars.
Peanut butter kisses are among the worst candys in the world?
I thought they’re actually not bad
Was gonna say I love them. not my 1st choice but I've always enjoyed them.
I loved them!!! I too questioned that comment.
What about maple nut goodies?
Brach's, you can still find them.
Root beer bottle caps ftw!!!
Lmao the bubble gum cigarettes. I remember those.
I remember bubble gum cigars
Me too, and I never took up smoking because of them. They still were fun to blow on and pretend that you were "taking a drag" like a grown-up!
Same. I still don't smoke, but those were great
The powder sugar smoke when you puffed them. Still funny.
I always liked the big chewy sweet tarts. They were as big around as a hockey puck. Mallo cups are at CVS and Tractor Supply in my area. I purchased some last week along with Charleston Chew. I was looking for a Black Cow or a Cow's tail but didn't find any.
Not as old as some of the stuff on here, but I miss the Brach's Pic-a-Mix that you could find in almost any grocery store.
Yes! I really miss the neopolitan 3 toned coconut ones!!
👍 does anyone recall some round wrapped chocolates with different fillings? Those were my favorite!
CHILDHOOD CANDIES ARE CHERISHED MEMORIES
My favorite discontinued candy was the 7 UP BAR which had nothing to do with the soft drink
I absolutely LOVE them circus peanuts and the Neccos. 😋😋😋
You are missing Bonomo's Turkish Taffy, Abazaba, Kitts, Milk Duds, Annabelle's Rocky Road, Jolly Roger hard candies, hot toothpicks, milk bottles, and my favorite -- Hoffman's Cup of Gold, which was the most expensive. Milk bottles contained a sweet liquid encased inside a waxy container resembling a milk bottle, and kids would bite off the top of the bottle to drink the contents, which came in different colors. These are the candies that I remember from the 1960s.
Fortunately, Nevada is not lacking in candy stores selling nostalgic wares. I can get most of these within the hour, though some may require a 5 hr drive.
Necco is New England Candy+ Confection Co. They made sky bars
You can find both at the Old Vermont Country Store. You can order online from their online catalog or request a paper catalog. They have a lot of different old time candies
@@summersands8105 Bonomo Turkish Taffy can also be purchased from the V.C.S..
Faye, I used to keep a roll of chocolate Necco wafers in my desk in middle school. Sister Avila never caught me. Then, again, she was blind as a bat. 😁
@@summersands8105 I'm not seeing Sky Bars on their site, sadly. But they do have Teaberry Gum, which gives me hope.
I love Mallo cups! U can get them on Amazon! I miss the dinosaur snacks tho they r good af 🦕🦖
👊🏽👍🏽
@@pieluvr7362 😋😀
Were they like those cookies, Mallomars?
@@samanthab1923 they r like Reese’s cup but instead of peanut butter inside it’s marshmallows!! So delicious
@@samanthab1923 I never had mallomars idk what they r. But those r cookies?? What r those
Cracker Barrel always seems to be a reliable source for esoteric candy....
Anyone remember Sixlets?
I loved those! I have been trying to look for them but can't find it anywhere
@@shirinpatel1148 I have some now, we have them in Maryland!
I remember all of these.A lot of them I don't care for, but I liked the candy cigs, and I really like Mallo Cups and can get them at local stores.
Circle peanuts jello salad. It was popular in the day.
Circus peanuts are the best.
I agree 💯 percent
I actually like the circus peanuts, and looked forward to them and the Bit-o-honey when I was a kid after trick or treating. Of course chocolate was my first choice, but I always liked the old skool candies too.
Cup of Gold & Big Cherry 🍒
Candy cigarettes r soo good!!
WALNETTOS !! Those are the best. 🥇
Can you still get those?
@@warmspirited2326 Sadly the product is out of stock at the candy retailers I've searched online. There are recipes however to recreate the treat. You may experiment in your home kitchen if you so desire.
The Vermont Candy Store also carries Walnetos. A Walnut candy 🍬 that was a Big favorite in our house when all of us kids were growing up. My eldest sister is 16 years older than me and she grew up with them in the house when she, her baby brother and our mother lived in New York state back in the 1940s.
Smoothies from Boyer was my favorite
Yes! And their Mallow Cups too!
You can order them on Amazon, I liked those as well, cause, I like butterscotch but, still mallow cups trumps them at least in my book.
So good!
Rite Aid also sells circus peanuts, they're my husband's favorite 🙃
Mine too.
So does Dollar Tree
There good if there fresh, there nice and soft and easier to eat. When, they get hard the taste horrible.
About candy cigarettes, you're wrong. I used to have candy cigarettes as a child (all three kinds mentioned) and I'm NOT an adult smoker.
I love Circus Peanuts and Peanut Butter Kisses!
I get my bit o honey at dollar tree in California, they might be at other locations around the US too
You can also find these candies at Dollar Tree and 99 Cents Only.
I remember Bit of Honey, Mallo Cups, Baby Ruth. All of those good things. They bring back wonderful memories. Miss them. Where can you find them now?
I saw a lot of throw back candy at big lots. I remember buying the fake cigarettes and I don’t think it was an influence. I grew up eating these candy and I was not influenced. That is so bias. I remember bottle capsthese candy doesn’t exist in this generation. I kind of miss the old school candy.
I remember getting bubble gum cigars & Ive never tried smoking 😊
@@samanthab1923 I passed around Pink bubblegum cigars when my Daughter was born. Of course, it was still the 20th Century when it happened. Barely, though. Better than my Dad's generation. I had a choice, cancer or cavities. I chose cavities because they are MUCH easier to fix. Cheaper, too.
Charles Sharp Yes, the pink ones! I love that 👶
My favorite old candy are the golden crumbles that came in a round tin. 😋
Do you remember what they were called?
You can still get U-No candy bars, which are pretty fantastic!
"Can I have two cents worth of strips?" (Candy buttons were called strips.)
At 91 years old bit o honey and Mary janes are my Gramma's favorite
My family ran a candy store for almost 40 years. Candy cigarettes sold like they were going out of style.
I remember putting red lipstick on the end to make people believe they were “real” cigarettes and I walked around feeling like a Vogue model !! 🤣
@@southernsoul152 Interesting. Oh and we sold bubble-gum cigars too.
I still enjoy a Mallo Cup here and there. The taste of coconut in anything is a winner with me.
oh yeah boyer mallow cups and their peanutbutter cups were the jam, you can still buy them from the boyer website cheaper than amazon most always- the boyer factory was closed for a long time over inheritance battles
Bring all the old candy back out again I love all of them
Circus peanuts rock, they're my favorite and I used to share them with my grandma when I was a kid
Hey guys. Looking for old fashioned and new candies? Head to b a Sweety candy store. I went there once and AAAA! SO MUCH CANDY! b a sweety is not only the biggest candy store in Ohio, It's the biggest candy store in the US. (no, I'm not advertising, I just thought I'd let you guys know about it) I'm not sure how to get there, but it's in Cleveland.
@Ginger...I knew, even before I read your entire comment, you were from the Cleveland area when you mentioned Sweetie's. 😀
If you live near a cracker barrel restaurant, they sell alot of these candies in their store too.
I got mallow cups in my house 🤣
Lucky you, those are my favorites.
Annabelle's Rocky Road!
Dude I literally just bought Malo Cups yesterday and ate them with lunch today. I use to get them at WaWa all the time when I was young meaning 98-05.
Mallo Cups are my favorite!!! 😋
I love bottle caps
Oo those marshmallow cups look good... Russel stover in the early 2000's brought out smores cups so good graham cracker cup crust with marshmallow creme and dipped in chocolate basically looked like a reeses cup but 1000 times better IMO .... I also love bar none candy bars they were delicious I think they got discontinued in the late 90s.
I actually have three limited edition Pez for Star Wars collector tins
Mallow cups are AMAZING
Sweet!
What I really miss is the range of candy bars that was once available. Caravelle, Powerhouse, Milkshake, Clark bar, the old Mars bars with the almonds on top, etc... Now everything is based on a very few main money makers. It's like how there are now a zillion Oreo varieties, but try finding Mystic Mints or Pitter Patters...
I remember the DOTS and the CAPS. I can't find them around here where I live.
I love bit o' Honey!!!
Mallo cups fit Altoona, PA. Old school and worn out but still around today. I've passed that place a million times but never went in. People think since you're from that area you automatically like them but no. I live near Hershey now.
Abba Zaba.... you my only friend
Does anybody know if they still make BB Bats taffy? I remember that was penny candy when I was a kid . It was actually 2 cents.
The Vermont County Store carries those, and lots of other vintage goodies.
@@heidicrimmings9615 Thanks
Bit o Honey should be also named denture rippers
Growing up in a small town probably atone to it, but I could go get pretty much any of these.
I am 19 and have had all of these as a kid. My parents were old enough to be grandparents lmao
Actually they have bottle caps at 5 below I get them all the time
We used to use Necco wafers as targets for our BB and pellet guns. You had to eat what you missed.
Legends have it that people would try to use NECCO Wafers in toll booths.
Necco wafers are awesome
Love Bit-O-Honey!
You can still buy cherry Mash I love those.
They're my favorite too!
The same company that made a Necco Wafers also made Mallo Cups and some of these other candies. Remember a few yrs when, you couldn’t buy candy hearts (conversation hearts) it was then, The Necco Candy Company closed down its manufacturing company. They then, sold it to Kraft Foods and Kraft foods, owns or you could say who owns Cracker Barrel Restaurants. Look the next time you read a menu or the products you see such as there butter and jelly you’ll tend to see the condiments and such will have the Kraft name on them, same with Crarcker Barrel Products you buy, you’ll see on the back of the package distributed by Kraft Foods manufactured at where they’re company is located at. That’s why a lot of these candies are in the Cracker Barrel Store, there well supplied.
I absolutely love MALLO CUPS ; they had them at my local grocery store a year ago, but now they are off the shelves.
Tractor supply stores also.
BTW, I turned mine into a Xanax Pez dispenser.
Ksmith610
🤣🤣
Mallo cups are my all time favorite. I was just thinking about them and wishing they would bring them back.
Candy cigarettes YUM TASTED A WHOLE LOT BETTER THAN REAL CIGARETTES .real cigarettes taste like soot.I don’t know why anyone was motivated to smoke
Agree. I guess because I ate so many of those as a kid, it made cigarettes unappealing when I grew up.
Probably the whole "cool" factor. That and teenage rebellion.
i used to go thru the necco wafers at the store to find the ones with the most orange and yellow
I remember all of those candies LOL😅
You forget about chuckles candy. Can get the on Amazon and in some stores and hospitals
I remember them.
Available on Amazon. 😋
As a kid i preferred Bottle Caps over sweet tarts.
Circus peanuts are awesome
Mallo cups are great
We give the circus peanuts to my Dad's donkeys. They love'em.
Circus Peanuts are great
Not sponsored by Amazon. 😅
This video brought to by your local family dentist who reminds you to eat candy everyday.
Also brought to you by Amazon which would love to sell you this candy.
I remember Bottle Caps!
