      We had a guy in the fly shop where I work talking about how the biggest browns in the White river aren’t the ones that they stick on the streamer but the ones that come up and steal twenty-inchers off their line. In my area we’ve got a particular river that regularly produces 30” fish and has a 37” record that is only 12 lbs off the world record where I got my PB at 28” this spring on a 178 claw.
      Big browns love big swimbaits, it’s a riot!

    Been designing a glide for 6 months now. I've found the nose up issue on mine from having too much weight in the front. When retrieving it, it would want to sink a little too nose heavy and the line would keep pulling it up because it wasn't perfectly level.

    I’ve never fished a deps so I really can’t say anything about other baits being better than it but glides I think are great swimmers would be the 6th sense draw which is an abs 9” glide. The 86 sentinel is an awesome bait, 7” glide but it’s got a wider glide than a lot of baits that are bigger. The rafa Joey shad is a great glide, I think it’s 8”. The 86 andromeda is a beast, 10” 6.4oz shad glide.

    Hey Geoffrey thanks for the video!
    I’ve been using the deps 250 for half a year and have seen so many giant bass that I have never seen before.
    I know eventually one of them will bite it!
    I’ve trimmed the excess rubber that comes off the head piece at the hinge joint. Which turns the 250 into a more chop style bait.

    I'm not gonna lie, I haven't heard much about these baits. This is really the first video I've run across. I know it's a pretty specialized method with the modern electronics available. Your presentation and explanation piqued my interest. I'm going to look into it more. What tackle is the norm for this method? It seems like it could work for striped bass as well. My main water to fish, because it's close by, is a deep,clear water reservoir in N. Ga.. Jeff,if you're ever down this way, I'd like to tag along and check out how an experienced angler goes about this. Is it effective out of a kayak because that's what I've got. But I'll tell you this,let me hang out and learn how to do it and the cleaning your boat will get will be first class... I'm going look at getting my hands on one and start getting used to it...

    • @crazybassfisher
      @crazybassfisher  10 месяцев назад

      I know many guys who have fished the 250 for stripers and have done really well with them. Normally a XH rod with a 300 size reel and 20-25lb line is what is used to fish this bait. I also knew a handful of guys who threw the bait out of a kayak and had great success as well

    love this! yes if I didn't live in musky country, I'd have at least 4 of these in different colors and fish them solely; they're easy to weight/adjust and make slow sink/suspend. There's a reason Butch bought these up when they first came out and he has a lot of DD's on them. He also has a video where he explains how to convert the current model to an OG type. I like what you said about the skin silencing the hinge, but it also causes the back to 'rebound' back to straight which I think improves the glide and the look to keep it from jackknifing and crunching. Great video, thanks!
