I don't live alone but what I do to save money is live with my parents so I don't have to pay rent or other bills, make lunch at home to bring to work instead of buying food in the manhattan where I work, I use my sibling's subscription accounts, put 60-70% of every paycheck into my savings, I don't cook but eat leftovers and other foods my family makes or brings, I buy clothes and shoes only if they are on sale or a low reasonable price. I don't pay for school yet but I will have to soon. Currently, all of my paychecks are for my use. the only thing I buy is metro card fare, makeup bc I'm a makeup fanatic, and supplies for my cat. because of this, I was able to give my parents money to help them buy my family's first house.
These are great tips and I’m so thankful for this wonderful advice. Also if you have a hard time remembering to bring back books use things like hoopla and just read on there for free
Found you on ig and came straight here and woah we are the same age ! Yass financial independence is rarely taught to bengali girl and its something we need to talk more about! I'm so glad I found you ❤️ can't wait to see you grow 💕 love from another bengali girl from nyc
I use excel to budget but an app sounds like a great idea too! And yes, public transport ftw! Lots of scary things happening on subways these days, but I've used public transport for most of my life and can't even imagine how much money that's saved me! Love this topic btw financial independence is soo important regardless of where you live! :)
Honestly the best way to save money on music and other entertainment like movies and tv shows is to just buy it and own it so you only have to pay for it once
