What a beautiful model, the only detail missing is the centerline drop tank. The wing tanks on the phantom were rarely used. More room for the weapons rails. VF-103 Sluggers, U.S.S. Forrestal CV-59, 81-83.
I know it'snot really there but in tight turns and abrupt pull ups it just looks so right that my mind is making me see vapour puffs and streams - just stunning
Beautiful edf in the air great flying for a beginner James lol I don't have an F-4 in my hanger so I'll order one soon I'll put in a Spectrum AR631 reciever to bind up with my Spectrum DX8 transmitter 😉👍🛩
Can't wait to reach this level. I've just started with a 30mm edf mirage I built to train for a 64mm f35. I'd love to be able to fly a 90mm jet like this. Just the whistle as it glides by is amazing
@Motion RC @James T, it's not the diameter of the EDF, it's the airframe,t/w,wingloading,etc that dictates ease of use. My first ever(and so far only) EDF was the freewing Skyhawk. Never regreted the decision. Get a Delta, 80mm. Can't do too much wrong.
@@0304051324 from what I've worked out, wing loading increases at larger scales. Should I account for that when comparing or do they compare directly? Also, the mirage has a wing loading of around 2.5 kg/m². Is that good? It seems to be working fine
We used discarded wing tanks for water tanks for our shower facilities. A submersible heater warmed the water. Available only at our brigade base camp at LZ Sally in I Corps.
That a sweet bird! I gave the real deal eighteen years of my career as a crew chief & mechanic. On the gray version I would trim off the chin dome, neither the Navy or Marine Corp flew "D" model F-4's. The "D" model was the only variant with that ECM chin dome, Air Force only.
If you look closely at a "B" model the chin dome is a smooth curve. I'm referring to that added hump. I've had my hands on every variant of the real airplane. The only variant with that "hump" on the bottom of the radome was the D.
@@donlockman3504The B model has the same radome as and AF... C model the bottom of the chin dome is smooth. The D and only the D model had that ECM pod that adds that bump for lack of better verbiage. None of the Navy's versions have that.
Nice work James. Looks like it flies great. Maybe you should attach the chute for landing? My friend Ivan has it and it’s really cool. I’m excited for the F-16 video. On the list!
Flight notes: I swapped the edf from stock 1750 as it was underperforming for my taste to the 1900kv edf and yes it has met my expectations. It’s deceptively fast I thing due to its size. It presents excellently. Very smooth flier. Vintage fighter aerobatics accomplished with ease. Plz note I found full throttle verticals shocking. The speed this plane reaches can catch you off guard. Deff need a good sized field to fly. Straight level passes at full throttle are surprisingly fast, as I said she get to it very well indeed. Landings are a piece of cake. Make your turn to final a nice graceful turn and with elevator throttle management you’ll be rewarded with the prettiest approaches ever. Phantom reminds me of the big WARTHOG the way it flies silky smooth and predictable. Clown with the ooovo 100c six cell pack. This plane checks all the boxes. Pay attention when adjusting the linkages. There is a slight fairing on the fuse to Align flaps to then ailerons. I highly suggest a heavy duty pushrod on the elevator. This plane worth the money if you love phantoms. Even to just hang it from the ceiling.
nice flight with an 'almost' perfect landing, plane to get myself one sometime, just wish you could have the same power but with a longer flight time without adding all the extra weight with a bigger battery, really looking forward to you F16 flight video
Nice....buddy saw a few videos of you landing...try and make a longer and shallower approach...your landings will look beautiful...this kind of landing looks good for a c172
I would say im a strong intermediate level pilot with most of my experience being warbirds, p47, p51, f4u etc. Looking for my first edf is this an unreasonable choice? My experience with other aircraft is larger tends to be more stable wich is the only reason im looking at 90mm jets.
Hi James, Will Motion offer the Ghost Gray with this set up? I know you offered the 8 cell, but I would be interested in a high performance 6 cell (in runner). Thanks
Look to see if there is a local AMA club in your area. They are normally very inviting and have training programs to learn how to fly. Or you can always teach yourself. A RC simulator is a great first step.

Freaks me out when I see guys using full speed for Flap deployment. Do yourself a favour and slow those flaps down to 2 or 3 seconds in the transition.
LOL mine become a 3D Phantom, everyone in the field look and said, is a goner, in the turn I was slow, and suddenly the Phantom went down like a rock vertically, in 40 feets altitud in the turn for final, with a 6000, I give her full throttle and elevator up, all full rates, and the wing start rocking with the plane still going down, I pull the nose up at the sky going down and then lower the nose and she pull out from the stall. No you first edf for sure but flight fast and like an arrow.
Miss mine a lot, want a new one someday...

Stuck that landing! Love the slow-mo landing to. Good looking plane! New subscriber and bell ringer here!

Nice flying James. She's definitely locked in. 👍👍😎👊✌
Nice, I have one, but not maiden it yet! It will soon!! :)
Be sure to set it up like I have with the neutral elevator at 8mm of up and a flap to elevator mix.
Nice walk through on the Phantom. I love mine.

I love that Aeroplane.
Looking good there with the F-4 Phantom 😀👍

It looks like this one has the slight need for right aileron trim like a few of us experienced. Makes the maiden a little fun until you dial it in
Great looking and good flying plane

Holy crap is that an awesome plane!
yes it is!

For real!
Nice flight James I can't wait to fly my 8s version

I’ll have to get one of these but maybe after the F15, would get a 6000mah also to increase flight time.
Good call, can't go wrong either way!
Great flight. Very nice.
Love the slo-mo footage.

James, Is the 8s F4 noticeably different from the 6s?
NICE!!!!
Great flight. What control is the gyro on ? Or all three?
All 3, about 20% gain
Hey James did you fly this without the drop tanks and ordinance and if you did how much different did it fly
I did not, was just so locked in, didn't bother. Sure it would be a little less draggy and quicker
