The good ol’ days when Rich still worked on stuff for customers to make most of his living. Good old days for us anyways, but I figure he doesn’t miss them! Props to filthy Rich for making it big enough on RUclips he doesn’t have to do stuff like this anymore unless he wants to.
Not to be a dink, but it's pronounced Dep ker lol. I worked at the factory that built the grain trailers. The old ones all rot out like that. Too many spots for salt to hide. Great Work! Love the channel!
"Dep-ker" would be the Anglicized way to pronounce Doepker. Being a name of Germanic origin, the "oe" diphthong would make the proper pronunciation roughly "Doop-ker". :-)
Those trailers turned out nice. What the max weight you can haul up there in Canada? Here in Ohio, legal weight is 80,000 lbs for semis, but most guys end up coming into the elevators a good bit heavier.
What kind of paint did you use on the side walls and the frame can you give me a name brand of the paint as well if you don't mind I'm wanting to paint my hopper bottom thanks!
It was a self etching primer and a single stage gloss black/white from our local Napa dealer. I think it was Pro-form. I just poked my head in his shop about a month ago and it still looks really good. No rust poking through just yet
that year of trailer was first painted with a zink coating on the outside. than duraguard on the bottom half outside. than primer inside and outside. then accucoat paint. all supplied by P.P.G.
I dont mean this with any disrespect but sometimes I don't think they're following all the rules. Seems like this is on a guys backyard bit a real shop lol.

Great work! That’s a massive undertaking, but your end result is awesome! Well done!

Here in Ontario we are legal for a max of 63,500kg which is just shy of 140,000lbs
A good bitt ha ha ha thts an understatement 80000 lbs is just a suggestion
Steel haulers with permits run 120k lbs in Ohio. See it everyday. Js
What would that cost mine are getting pretty bad noticed you didn’t have to touch aluminum slides usually rivets shake loose?
Stupid question, but why the placard mounts? What kinda hazmat stuff can be carried in a hopper bottom trailer?? Jw thanks looks great lots of work

Fuck that looks amazing what a great job!!!
Dude should have took that rust bucket to Richie Bros and cut his losses.
What's the rules in Ontario In Alberta it's supposed to be a journeyman welder on trailer frames

Exchange rate has little to do with the price of those trailers, they are built in Canada.
And it's pronounced Dep-Kerr.
