Also in the band: Kenny "Beedy Eyes" Smith (son of Wille "Big Eyes" Smith) and Eddie Taylor Jr. (son of Eddie Taylor, one of the greatest Blues musicians that ever lived). All phenominal musicians and sons of legendary Blues immortals.
WOW! giving me goose bumps! Fantastic! Buddy meets Son Seals meets Mr F. King. meets Mel Brown. For as long as I have been listening to the blues; it never ceases to amaze me of how deep the bag of great artists are! You know it's good when you can hear so many different styles!
I just love love love the way he attacks the guitar-its so distinct and original-I'd love to be able to play guitar like him-I'd love to see him live-and I loved his Dad's harp playing too-in fact his Dad was my favorite harp player
Bendito seas Lurrie. Y gracias.
Absolutely GENUINE !! Gotta say it again, Lurrie, your playing reminds me of the late great Buster Benton !... Love your stuff, and will be looking to see you live oneday !
The sad/funny thing is that Lurrie is not only very highly rated., but actually quite famous! (And has been for quite a while.) Unfortunately this fame is only among the dedicated blues fans. Being a blues star ain't as lucrative as being a country star.
sum good playing there.. from a guy in england.. oooo yes.. you dont need to play 50 notes a second. for all you shreddere and speed merchants.. take heed
Great performance from Lurrie, with some dynamite guitar work but I felt he was kind of making it work and not getting the support he needed from his band - hard playing like that needs more full rhythm guitar work, and the bass player for instance looks somewhat lost on occasions.
His playing ok but he is just playing in one position most of the time even when the chords change.not very dynamic in my opinion.if you dont play you might not catch it.if you listen to eric clapton play this you can get a sence of what i mean.he is a good player but there is a bit of room for improvement.... .
When people say that there's no good blues music nowadays they clearly just haven't heard this man.
The truth is out there
Skip forward 10 years... better or worse ?
Lurrie Bell, one of the true greats

" ... the guy is in his style influenced by Lowell Fulson ... "
I don’t think I’ve heard anything quite like this. That tone is astounding.
Lol. And here I am five years later. Still the absolutely dirtiest blues I’ve ever heard. This is…. filthy.
LOVE U LURRIE! Miss your pops
So much feeling.
I just wanted to say how much I enjoy this video. Thanks for posting it .
Wow, you can almost see part of his soul pouring out of those strings!
Thank you for posting. He must be using power-lines for strings!!!!
This is really great, no showing off, just some really nice blues.

YES-SIR! That's what I'm talking about.
damn that's some fine playing,dig his vibrato,wow
I like the way he's already got vibrato going on a note when he attacks it.
super.
The World is all a Fool!
A performance in 2006. Does it swing enough?
Yeah!!
Another reason for you folks to hunt down "Son of a Gun" with his dad released by Delmark a long way back.
Yeah man.... Each note weight a ton!!!

My dog's making me a cup of tea -- too late at night for coffee - something's wrong here...

I'm a chicago band photographer artist... shooting Mr Bell at Rosa's Lounge 5/10/19 ask for artkiller1960
I always thought he was a harmonica player ?
His father Carey Bell was
he could have delivered on his own
Не все африки блюзмены-то.
El bajista brotó de una planta de marihuana.
Not a fan of his attack.
That's okay. There is no accounting for taste.
Someone/something must've eaten your soul then.
