    Thanks for the information chuck I had a handle on one of my musky rod that was all chewed up so I did what you said I altered it just slightly I used Elmers golden Oak wood filler after it was all sanded and done like you showed it looks excellent What a difference the only thing I did after that was I took kiiwi shoe protectant like a silicone sprayed the handles to protect it from the water a little bit. Thank you for all the info.!!

    For those that don't like the look of the wood filler, try this. Take some old wine corks and either put them on a grinder with a collection tray underneath to catch the ground up cork. I don't have a grinder so I cut up pieces and put them in a mini food processor to grind them up to a fine mix. Mix with wood glue and fill your spaces with that compound. It looks much better and will absorb sealer. I like the u40 cork seal BTW.

    Chuck, I am a big fan of cork handle rods. Been using them for darn near 30 years. I like what you did and I will go home and restore my Berkley Lighting Rod. It does tend to get a little slippery when it's raining. Thanks for the video and thanks for what you do.

    Thank you for sharing

    • @ChuckPippinBassFishing
      @ChuckPippinBassFishing  Месяц назад

      It’ll last just as long as the original filler did if you put some sort of sealer on it. I didn’t with this rod and it lasted a good while.

    I love these tackle care vids. I think I would fish it after the wood filler without sanding. As much as I fish I'd have the filler worn down to the cork in no time just from my hands. Sweet giveaway and thanks for the opportunity!

    Would you recommend this process for concrete tool handles? I love a particular tool but they seem to spilt directly over the center of the handle overtime and wanted to know about a product that does great for strength/protection and is good in wet/sweaty hands. And who would know better than a fisherman! Lol Thanks in advance man!
