Thank you, i had the bathys, Cambridge one and the IO12 before. I Chose the 8 over them all. Its the first HP that is doing everything what you want from a Bluetooth device and gives you also a lot of what you want AS an audiophile. It ist light, flexible and has secure fit. The soundquality is best balanced of them all. The 12 had more audiophile qualitys than the 8, but i prefer the Sound of the 8 over the 12. The Bass was very audiophile on 12 bur not fun. And the Bass boost sounded unnattural. And the 8 ist solving that for me. With the the sacrifice of a Bit Detail, seperation and Soundstage. Also the 12 was way to heavy and moved a lot of the head. That was annoying. The bathys ist very good too. A bit more in weight and size but still ok. The Cambridge one ist good for ITS asked price. And i would Just recommend IT If you 100% Sure that you will Not spend more than 300€. Otherwise i think io8 and bathys are Headphones that should BE considered before buying anything. And i think the IO 8 ist the best Option and First real mature Bluetooth device with No drawbacks one the Market. Everything tested with Aptx Adaptiv and Bluetooth 5.3. i prefer the 8 in Hifi Mode with AnC Off. When i want more Bass i Turn the ANC on. But never used mode.
Dali is really good at marketing. No App is a plus and weak ANC is termed 'audiophile ANC'; the advertised 35 hours of playback is also with ANC off. I tried them for 40 minutes because I admire their speakers a lot. However, the noise isolation, sound quality and controls were disappointing for €600. The ANC made almost no difference at the shop; comfort with the round ear cups was average with glasses; the button placement was annoying (not easy to differentiate volume from the huge play/pause/skip button); sound was lacking in texture and clarity (veiled treble with a weird reverb-like quality to the midrange masked details). The carrying case also felt feeble for the price. It would be an excellent €400 or a good €500 headphone.
