the interesting point for comparing io-8 to io-12 (at least for me) is that they don't use SMC driver like io-12, but another, cheaper, celuloze one. I just have to try them to hear what exactly SMC brings in for io-12
I'm very surprised to hear that you're not testing the new Dali's because you don't like the look. Hadn't expected that. Especially since you were so outspokenly enthusiastic about the different models until now. The io-8 is much better built than the io-6 and has a completely different sound profile. Also sounds different, warmer, than the io-12 Personally, I think the comfort of the newcomer is excellent but that's personal, of course. And I'm sure the anc of the Dali's could be even better but probably more than good enough for most users. So too bad you've decided beforehand that the latest Dali adds nothing new. Think this is a mistake. But of course I also understand that you have to make choices and cannot buy everything without question. Just fully expected that after your favourite, the io-12, you would also be curious about the latest model. Anyway, good luck with everything else you are going to test :)
Not just the look but 4 or5 other reasons. If the 8 was advertised as improved/superior and were even much more expensive than the 12, without hesitation I'd have them. Warmer sounding might just be 6th reason for me unfortunately. If I see them out somewhere, I'll definitely not miss an opportunity to demo them
@ Still, too bad for those who want premium headphones from Dali but don't have the money for the io-12 The io-8 is more towards the Px8 and interesting for that reason. At least that's how I look at it. Nevertheless, thanks for your response :)
Well thank you for this, not at all impressed with B&O they are just an over priced brand that for some reason is still hanging on in the headphone world, their ANC is nothing special along with anything else it brings. They have become quite unreasonable with their pricing. I am still loving my Levinsons thanks to you and the ANC is stellar and so luxurious and the leather cups oooohh so lovely. Apple max (ANC the best I have ever heard along with the transparency mode) for my audio books and the Levisons for my music . I hope you still love them. You are so honest in your reviews.
io 8 have no concurrent in their price range. Soundwise they can compete with headphones almost double the price. Controll- wise the only product that come close is the io12:)Ps: the oval shape earpads look stupid! All true high end Hi-fi headphones have round earpads !
Had a booked demo of the Unveiled yesterday (was interested in buying it) and then listened to the normal Susvara. The normal susvara many genre sources of material tested, without a doubt T+A ticks far more boxes with better pace and sounds more connected. T+A expresses natural talent.I thought the Susvara would be more alive, bass detail definitely not clean and lacking impression compared to T+A. I know my Abyss1266 is built like a tank but the susvara has a much lower build refinement, materials and is flimsy, build is not hi end but more like a prototype. T+A build is far more premium. What surprises me the most is the natural space & soundstage or lack of it noticed within seconds listening to the Susvara. They sound restricted and confined compared to the more "open to the source" T+A. I used 4 amplifiers for the susvara, tested a new Susvara and 15 month old store demo pair to compare. Brought along my HA200 & my T+A HV to demo my solitaire P. Did also demo the Unveiled too, even more flimsy, build is a joke. The Unveiled can be ruined in seconds, store owner was even too scared to handle them. Build is not practical and really unfinished and overpriced. Very fussy with music choice and a very patchy performance overall.
Hello mister OPAZ, I’m been seeing you videos and I found very very good. You honestly and you sharing of you experience as a person who knows about sounding quality is very appreciated for me thank you. Now the reason I’m writing is because I’m ready to buy my pairs of headphones and I can’t decide yet which one to buy. 1- Mark Levinson 5909 2- Dali io-12 3- the new B&O h100 At first when I saw you videos about the you 5909 I was sure that will be my first nice and good sound quality headphones, but then I saw the video where you was comparing the 5909 whit the Dali io-12 and I thought wait a minute now I’m a not sure which one because I want the best of the best if I’m paying a price like that. Now whit the new B&O h100 whit all new technology I’m very interested whit the new space technology but still my priority is sound quality. I’m living in Canada buy the way and the city I live in there is not one store that they have those kind of headphones, so I can’t go and give it a try to listen to them. I have to order buy internet so I want to be sure to get the best one. I’m being doing my search to have the best information about them and I founded you videos very honestly opinion about those headphones. Thanks you. Now the question is which one I buy…?
The content in this video was amazing, thank you!
👍🏼
Thank you
Great video, thanks! Did you mean that Dali was bringing out another headphone after the IO-8? If so, I was wondering what you know about it.
I'd like to demo these (h100) soon but I doubt they'll be replacing my io12's
Won't, I tried both and I keep my dali io12.
How can you fold your ears into a round earcup?

My HE-1 and Solitaire P have oval ear pads
True high end you say!
@@opaz. My Hifiman Susvara is high end buddy, Solitare P are just looks, you seem to not grasp the concept of high end HIFI...
susvara, looks, round earcups 😂
