I am German and I think at 5:30 she said "also ich blame die jetzt nicht dafür" (I don't blame them), young Germans like to use English words a lot, which I (being 28) find a bit cringy but it is what it is.
Nice video, I think you have a very nice German accent! I'm also from Ireland and have been learning German for about 6 months. Going to start using italki to improve my speaking. Keep making these cool videos!
I've always dreamed of speaking a second language since English is my first language. I learnt German in Highschool for 2 years and tried to learn it outside of school but it's so much harder.
1:03 Omg!!!! This "ehh" reminded me of my friend, she is born and raised in Stuttgart but her parents are from Italy which is where I'm from, we made friendship like 4 years ago cause she used to come here every year for summer and she would always say ehh exactly like that, with the same accent and everything it's like I heard her, now I miss her😕 she was so funny I loved her accent, when I say something stupid she'd say "Hallo??" In the funniest way ever, or "ehh?" Edit: ommggggg 1:36, samee she would say "WTF" ALL THE DAMN TIME, same thing for "ok"
Fun fact.. as a German u can't suprise english speaking ppl with their own language because everybody expects u to speak english already😅 because they used to germans speaking english at least pretty decent..
His pronunciation is pretty good with shorter words, with longer sentences though as well with some sounds though you hear he is not german, he sounds a bit stiff. Really good though, amazing skill🙏
8:00 "Heast! Zwölfe hod a grod gsogt oida!" means, "Heast (slang word, basically means "listen"), he just said twelve oida! (another slang word, very important word in Austria, literally means "old one")
Du klingst wie ein Schweizer. Dein Deutsch ist sehr gut mit einem leichten Akzent und ich würde zuerst denken, Du kommst aus Zürich. :) Du redest aber nicht sehr viel und benutzt nur kurze Sätze, das ist sicher ein Erfolgsrezept.
The guy at the end (by whom you couldn't put subtitles cause of his strong accent/dialect) said: He's 12, he just said, (his friend asks you how old you are), he just said that he was 12! When you repeated 12 because you weren't sure that he said the number 12 in his dialect (which he actually did) he thought that you understood him and then said that you were 12.
Germans 🇩🇪are always pleasantly surprised when foreigners can speak their language. In fact as multi lingual people we have a distinct advantage in social situations. Hey. Freund . Wie geht es dir? Kannst du mir helfen ,ob du mir ein paar Tipps beim Deutsch hören kannst. Ich kann nicht so gut Deutsch verstehen ,wenn Deutsche mit mir irgendwas sagt. Danke im Voraus.
Hey Jay, wenn Du sagst "Ich komme aus Irland.", meinst Du dabei die Insel? Oder das Constituent Country (Nord-)irland, die Republik Irland oder beide? Und in welchem Kontext sagst Du Irland bzw. Nordirland? Danke und Gruß
ahh its kind of hard to explain. Identity in Northern Ireland is a tough topic. I come from Northern Ireland (which is part of the UK) but often when I meet people I just say I'm Irish (even though I'm actually Northern Irish). It's funny but many people don't actually know that Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland are two different countries. So it is often easier for me just to say I'm Irish than having to explain.
@@GermanWithJay That's a good strategy. I considered asking as I noticed you always kept saying Northern Ireland in your other videos and their description. Looking at IRFU, IFA and FAI, the word "Irish" appears quite ambiguous, so I see why many people with bad geography knowledge get confused.
So krass. Ich bin ein muttersprächlige Deutschlerner und ich habe seit ein paar Jahre in Deutschland gelebt. Sonst wäre sie ja wohl kaum zum Austausch nach Deutschland gekommen
