The Post should of ran a success story rather than a put down piece. This man did everything right after coming from the worst circumstances. This is an American success story and should be a motivational story for all people.
It sounds like many are envious of Mr. Pegues not because he changed his life for the better, but because he surpassed their expectations of him. The thing is very rarely do people do more than what is expected of themselves. I believe that if he was the head of A&R at Def Jam records or the department of sanitation, this wouldn't even be a discussion.
Totally jealous of him and if he didn't move up in the racks, they probably would have harassed and investigate him but then moved on because they know THEY ARE CROOKED
Keep in mind the mafia cop stephen caracappa was a stick up kid got caught with a gun and still became a cop. Inspector Pegues was a Army Man with no convictions or poloce contact who turned his life around to serve nyc and help the community. Rock On Inspector Pegues
Prime example of turning your life around. He could've been an infamous drug dealer with a movie but instead a famous black cop with a movie. I'd take the latter. Salute from the 252 Rocky Mount NC. There's a difference in niggas and blacks. And he is definitely a respectable black man. One that I can show my son thats doing life with no parole to pass on to my grandson..his son. Life is all of what you make it
198 and Murdock - From '85-'88 I used to walk home from school (St Pascals) every day. Also played in that park and my people stayed on 197th. Anthony and Gerald kinda raised me on 197th. I was 10-12 years old. Some of the best times of my life.
@5:13, Corey, nah... no offense to T.I. or the South... but whomever portrays you in a biopic SHOULD be from New York! Ask LL's son; he should be grown by now. Heck, your own son. Oshea did a good job playing Cube in #SOC. Nah, that actor needs to embody New York, particularly, Queens. #OnceACop.
At least the man changed his life for the better. It took strength to do that and not give a damn about what others thought of him cuz when it comes down to it all you have is family.these streets don’t care about no one but themselves.
ANYBODY CAN CHANGE!!! THANK GOD FOR THIS MAN WHO CHANGED HIS LIFE ONCE HE BECAME A FATHER.....THEN HE WANTS TO HELP OTHER YOUNG MEN WHO ARE BEING RAISED ON THE STREETS WITHOUT A FATHER IN THE HOME! HATS OFF TO YOU!!! STAY ON THE BATTLEFIELD....THESE YOUNG PEOPLE NEED TO SEE SOMEONE WHO WAS ONCE OUT THERE AS WELL....SELLING DRUGS AS THEY ARE DOING NOW. THEY NEED TO KNOW THAT SOMEONE CARES FOR THEM. MOST OF ALL, GOD CARES FOR YOU. GOD WANTS TO GIVE YOU AN ABUNDANT LIFE YOUNG PEOPLE. THE DEVIL COMES TO STEAL, KILL, AND DESTROY. HE WANTS YOU TO HAVE AN UNTIMELY DEATH. GOD PROMISED YOU LONG LIFE, IF YOU OBEY HIM BY OBEYING YOUR PARENTS THAT YOUR DAYS BE LONG ON THE EARTH. OBEY THEM THAT HAVE AUTHORITY OVER YOU. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN TAUGHT FROM A CHILD.
I'm sorry but it is his story and he should be able to tell his story. People think that you can't change or they don't like the change you bring. Some people never wanted him to be on top because he is black. Period.... He is a person who should be honored. He accomplished something that most believe is impossible. Hats off to Corey.
Not dis one he from where its hard and options of for in between you don't know about doing the right thing because you see the wrong thing done so much that's what you become accustomed to play ball go to church go to school all of the options but this cop is different he can put lease without all the b******* cuz he know

You had to be a dirty cop like the crew probably made you be a cop only way i can see you doing that shit and have no problems
I admire this man for being man enough to make his past a reflection of his future..He did not destroy his future the stupid cops did and that writer that wanted to tell a story that might win him the pulixer prize only showed how backwards the NYPD was . So what he said things that got white people mad ,he also said things that got white cops protected on their beats....
Dear heavens! Corey, didn't see it when y'all were younger...but can see it now. The smile, especially! You and Marlowe must have some of the same DNA lineage. Remember Marlowe from 2-first? Cool dude...just like you.
In the 80s i just shoveled snow n bagged groceries...i didn't fall into drug selling scene like most of my friends did...you cant blame GOVT for putting drugs in the hood..blame the people that sold yo peoples out...

Corey I'm sure TI wants to give it up like you did but his story ain't as dynamic as yours, you really dodged the bullet. Respect Top COP! we need more like you on our streets.
Come on man you can change you life and still be drugged down to make a change . MUCH love and respect too Better living and Thinking it cleans the Soul
What happened to the Chicago mayor Marion Barry caught on tape smoking crack he was a black man what is the difference between selling it or doing it why isn't he get sober and have a second chance I bet he was a really nice person and a good mayor 🤔
I got a friend of mine applying for mdpd and they won’t take him because he was on an incident report for his friend getting jailed up for weed even though he wasn’t charged they don’t want to take him. How do major drug king pins get a job as a police officer?
@4:02...pardon me, Corey; posting these replies as I watch this video... But do you know, anyone, whether or not the *PBA* still hires operators to telemarket-cold-calls to homes seeking 'donations'?? After working for a politician and learning 'what' NYC is allotted each year via taxes to operate---we thought that *those cold-calls* were offensive! GALLED! And not for nothing...from reading your book, and what we all *know*... it's REALLY insulting for them to seek extra fiat from any [what's called] Black household. Sigh... Let's hope they've since ceased making such "requests."
you're the same people who say if someone sells drugs or breaks the law they get whatt they deserve, but beacuse this man escaped justice by becoming a cop, he's ok.
Says something about NYPD and law enforcement in general. Also says a lot about former dealers and criminals. They relish in the opportunity to speak about their exploits. They love the attention. It’s interesting maybe more than it is disgraceful.

The Supreme Team affiliation makes it more hilarious.

Trust me, NO ONE wants to see a young black man succeed
Apparently they don't want to. The rest of us are too busy succeeding to bitch about being held down. Get a job.
