When SirenCon 2022 happened, I told myself "alright can't wait to visit my first SirenCon in 2023!" I missed out, had stuff going on. But man, seeing this really makes me want to make plans to visit next year's. I've been enjoying siren videos for over a decade at this point and occasionally recorded some tests around Ohio. I had even thought about buying some sirens when the opportunities were there, but I don't have the space or expertise to operate them yet. I'd prefer to move back to the country to do that. Anyway, thank you so much for this compilation, and I hope I at long last get to meet fellow enthusiasts in person next year!

Nice! That's my black and yellow STH-10 btw just put the motor on it Friday (thanks to Ohio Outdoor Warning Sirens for the motor!) I did bring my Sterling 2v8 again and also brought my recent acquisition my FS Canadian model 2 too bad there wasn't enough time to sound the other sirens (including my 2v8 and Cdn 2) however it seems Josh and the SirenCon team have a plan to be able to sound all sirens next year.

AWESOMENESS! This was definitely the best Sirencon so far! Everything sounded amazing. It would have been cool if i could come but probably next year! Now what would be really cool is if Calvin brings his square-horned Hurricane next year and someone else brings and actual Hurricane blower!

Having lived in Walworth county, these sirens sound for fires and tornados and hearing them makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up

A Castle Castings in the US, a gas powered Mobile Directo, and a Hurricane on a Thunderbolt blower. This was definitely a historical event. I want to go so badly but it's a nearly a thousand miles away. Thanks for recording t so everyone can see it.

Alot of us, including myself, fly to the event. I'm from Alabama, and was by far not even the farthest traveler this year. Alfie from South London in the UK beats us this year. It's well worth the money to fly

Chyslers would literally get rid of your ears same with a P50 that’s the reason they pulled up with a cyclone instead

Wonderful event, sorry I missed it. Hope I can attend next year. Here's a thought...wonder if anybody in the USA might have a German Hochleistungssirene? I understand that is second only to the Chrysler 180 HP siren. Only seen HLS in videos, not even sure if one exists in the USA, but definitely would be a worthwhile participant if such can be found over here.

8:43 this STH-10 reminds me of visiting my grandma when I was younger she lived near a volunteer fire station they had the same siren up and every day at noon or whenever they got a call that siren would go off this was back in 2015-16 round that time frame god rest her soul I miss here so much she passed away June of 2020 😢

They were about the same. The Cyclone was a bit louder but nothing super crazy.
As the owner of both the MD and Decot, I will concede that the cyclone beat both of them in overall sound output. No replacment for displacement. That SOB womped!
However, I will say the MD does really good for having basically the same chopper size as a single tone Model 5.
The Model 12 I will also say is its best in its class of any 10/12HP dual tone omnidirectional

The mobil directo sounds like a Sentry while the Screamer sounds like a Model 7, must be using the same motor or something.

Absolutely fascinating - I had no idea there were siren "fan clubs". Horns, yes, but not sirens. I would be nice to get some information on the specification and history of those sirens. For example how loud they are (decibels), and where they were / are used. Is there somewhere I can find that?
There's an Air Raid Siren wiki that's fairly comprehensive, though it's out-of-date and not taking memberships from what I last remember. There is at least one on Wikia/Fandom, I don't visit it because I kinda hate Fandom's platform so much and I imagine that the information quality fluctuates because anyone can edit a page, unless moderation is good.

Why dafugg are they all larger than the average person??
They have to be extremely loud and be able to alert a large area at a moments notice. Most of there sirens are more then 120db at 100ft.

I didn't run it, and forgot how they did it exactly. I believe it was some sort of converter.

The guy who owns the siren brought a Variable Frequency drive with him. We simply fed it with 208 single/split phase. The frequency drive converted it into 415 volts three phase.
