Look sometimes I want a extremely complex movie that challenges my thoughts. And other days I just want to watch some crazy wall to wall action. This was definitely the wall to wall action side of things but it was really good.

The SuperPlex off the pyramids may have been the best part of the movie.

For me the best part of the movie was when gravity gets inverted and everyone else is still disoriented Godzilla's immediately smashing monkeys.
1:10 funny, when this scene happened, the first thing that pop in my mind is that scene in first AvP when a character read all the history from thousand+ years old cave writing.

Getting your Hollow Earth catfished by a frog from the Subterranean Realm was enough to make anyone go ape-sh*t over Godzilla rocking pink highlights if you got too close to a national landmark that Godzilla happened to be near.

Godzilla Minus One was the best of the horror Godzilla/serious drama of the original and subsequent movies.
Godzilla x Kong is an example of the best goofy campy monsters wrestling each other that the Showa movies gave us.

I know this is comedic, so I shouldn't take it seriously, but the "we have nothing to worry about" was specifically about the idea of Godzilla and Kong fighting again.
Which they did fight.
The addition of the Volkswagen to Dr. Adlers characterization list was brilliant 😂
The giant crab made me remember that scene in Magi when a giant fish monster attacked their island hideout and those mofos turned it into a massive cookout.
It would be cool to see a crossover between Godzilla and Pacific Rim where Jaegers team up with King of Monsters to kick Blue Kaiju butt together.

Just finished watching this. It's a masterpiece of Kaiju fighting. The animation is unreal and everything works. Yeah it's got human issues, but Dan Stevens saves them, his character was fun and the whole Kong and mini-kong arc was great to see. There are some unbelievable shots in this. Super fun movie.

You'll see the space ship from Invasion of Astro Monster, there's also "punch, punch, punch" and you can see Jet Jaguar's arm. There's also a kaiju that looks to be from Pacific Rim, so who knows what the next movie will have!

Bold of you to assume I'm using either of my last 2 brain cells watching Godzilla x Kong. It's giant kaiju punching each other. Trust me, my brain was competely shutdown and just enjoying the ridiculousness.
Just like with the Bayverse Transformers movies.
And you're gotta end up enjoying them anyway with your brain turned off.
It was so much fun
While the Legendary Godzilla movies present themselves in a much more Marvel style tone with humor and lots of mindless fun moments, I think people give these movies a harder time than they deserve. The scene where Kong first meets the enslaved Apes is a very good story telling scene. No words are spoken in that 5(?) ish minute stretch, yet through well written body language and visual details, the scene spoke for itself.
I won't pretend that these movies are cinema gold, cause they're not. But we can enjoy them for a LITTLE more than just "brain off" fun.
