Exactly how I feel. I just got the Ronin SC and now I don't want it. The major reason I bought it was for active track. It's hard to balance with the phone. I want the RS 2 because it has the menu on it and the pro combo is the better value
@@bahaatamer1245 I already have it now.I had just bought the SC so i was still in the return period. I took it back and the RS2 pro was much easier to balance and use active track with.
It's amazing gimbal. I am missing three things: 1: Possibility to calibrate the focus motor manually, so I can use lenses without a fixed stop on the focus ring. Will also be a great advantage with manual focus pull / zoom. 2: Possibility to operate focus motor from live view in the app. 3: Raveneye should be able to charge while it's on, so I only need to charge the large battery when I get home.

Great video! I purchased this for the BMPCC4K with a Tilta half cage and it only balances with my lighter lenses. With my 35mm cine lens it tilts to the left so I have just added a weight to the right side of the gimbal to allow correct balance. This is leaps ahead of my Moza Air 2 gimbal, Far more solidly built and so far very stable and easy to use. I love being able to use a mobile phone screen with the Ravin Eye as well.
I got the RS2 recently. It carries my caged (!) S1H with the Sirui 50mm T2.9 fullframe pout focus motor and 3D Focus. The trick: get the SmallRig Arca plate made for the RS2.
Hi Jeven, bought the ak4500 on your review, it has been a solid gimbal and balances my canon eos r with the 85mm f1.2 L lens which is very heavy and works fine. It does have a few little issues but overall well made. The batteries maybe a pain but you can get replacements easily. It also last a long time before charging. Always newer better stuff coming out. What i like the best about that ronin is the micro adjustment wheels, the ak4500 you need to slide and the arms get sticky. But not a deal breaker. Thanks for all the review you do, in detail and real world.
It should be illegal to say that a video is “not a paid sponsorship in any way” when you given a free product of substantial value. I mean, it’s definitely appreciated that this is being disclosed at all, but it’s still crazy that so many people claim no sponsorship just because they weren’t handed a check.
To answer your question, I wish they hadn't removed the 3/8"-16 screw hole from the the bottom of the battery grip. The old Ronin-S has both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16, which was nice for mounting such things as the SmallRig wooden side handle. The double screws made it feel more secure.
Dji is king. I made the mistake of going with the Moza Air 2 and those batteries will just quit and never charge again. Horrible experience. Really happy with the RS2.
The manual lens AF function is great, now Sony will lose customers, because usually many people get a Sony camera to get perfect AF, now cinematographers have the option to use manual lenses like Anamorphic and fast manual lenses, by the way , I never bought the BM4K or GH5 for lack of AF, we can no longer complain! This is a good time guys, thanks for your content!
i have an ak 4500 gimbal, i love it and if there is one gimbal that i want in my hands other than the ak4500, it is this gimbal. i love its modularity.

Honestly if you can ask the GI politely a reach out to them and tell them to have the next version of the raven eye to have wireless receiver to in any sort of a HDMI capture card with perfect for my live event work I'm looking forward to getting something like this and having like a tracking plus a wireless receiver to my streaming device be perfect.

In all the reviews, I see a description of the features, but no "awe" and excitement. Probably gimbals have reached maturity and they just improve marginally. But it would be interesting to have more footage and testing of different conditions, to see how really smooth and stable is the video, and how it performs compared to other gimbals .... is there a real improvement between the sc and the rsc? the s and the rs? what are the usability (dis)advantages compared to other formats like the AK4500 and its two hand ring grip?

this looks great! i was really hesitant about it because of the size compared to the weebill-s but since it packs down small and looks stronger I might switch to this!
My ronin-s has been rock solid but this one sorts out all the inconveniences (like weight) that that one has. I am really looking forward to the Lidar autofocus stuff, when that happens.
I have an RS2 and I have to manually turn down the stiffness to stop it from shaking not a good gimbal IMO. Yes, balance test comes out perfect and then it starts shaking
Could you please make a clear video on how to connect the Raven Eye? Some of the other small RUclipsrs are connecting it different than you. And then I seen you connect it in different ways also. I'm mostly interested in the RS2 and Sony A7SIII setup. Brando Li seems to hook it up like you also. And it works better that way. But sometimes I see USB-C and Micro-USB connections. Please clarify this.
Am in exactly the same position, I have a AK4500, things I don’t like about this gimbal. Horizontal alignment goes out, yes you can straighten in post, but is annoying. Also when you move or push some angles hard the arm flip and locks. I also need to run in action mode as it is so slow panning. I actually like the standard battery idea, if you want extra batteries easy to get. I am thinking to get the RS2 in the runout sales as the new one is out, RS3 pro. Thoughts on upgrading from AK4500 to RS2? Comments appreciated. :)

I just bought this gimbal to start a new chapter in my life. I am 100% new in this field and using the Iphone 13 pro max to start. I'm hopping by the summer I'll have a Sony or Cannon. Until then my question is there anyway I can utilize the gimbal function instead of the Iphone. Any help would be appreciated.

I’m thinking this gimbal now and maybe a Blackmagic Pocket 4k or 6K.. or even the Micro since I am not convinced that anyone will tell the difference with 1080p while moving at 24p at 1/48th shutter..... though a friend has a 4K who would like to sell me his with a couple hours use so he can get the 6K for the price of the Micro. What camera are you liking the most for high dynamic range to go with a gimbal like this? I’m not opposed to post work and pro-res RAW or BRAW.. Pro Res Raw or Pro Res with a LOG profile - I would be happier with since I wouldn’t have to leave FCPX. I think I might go this route vs an Osmo Pocket 2. (I have iphone 11 with Filmic Pro app and Zihyun and DJI Osmo Mobile 3 gimbals). My main camera is JVC LS300 super 35 with Atomos Ninja V, but the weak link with the JVC is it’s 8 bit, but log and image quality is good and tradable. Too bulky to be gimbal balanced and well the rest of the world is on 10 bit now and BRAW, Prores RAW etc etc .
I have a mirrorless Sony A7C that I use with prime lenses only. I think both the RSC2 and RS2 each have their slight advantages for my camera setup. I just don’t know which one to go with. Why did DJI have to drop 2 gimbals at the same time to make this decision hard for me

I love the gimbal, but the phone holder design is seriously flawed. I attached my phone and now the roll axis hits my phone... There's no clearance so if I use the phone holder I need to hold down the trigger to keep the gimbal locked... I'm either doing something seriously wrong or this is a huge oversight from DJI... Hopefully I'm just doing something wrong.

Purchased the webill s and am selling it to buy this, for anyone thinking of buying the weebil s I don't recommend for bigger set ups

Sir can you put a phone with a moment lens on this? No phone gimbal works well with phone+wide angle moment lens.
Can you hook up a cable from the gimbal to your camera to start/stop recording and control aperture/iso/shutter?
Yeah most can do this, but you need to check if it is compatible with your camera.
