    Props to her, she looked incredibly relaxed in this run. Not a single strain on her face or her posture. Makes that wind-aided 10.50's run from the start of the season seem far more legit. No doubt with some better conditions she will definitely drop under 10.60. And to see her dig in, work hard, stop talking and showboating and let her work speak for itself, is a testament to her maturing and becoming a better sportsperson. Sure, sprinting comes with some degree of showmanship and ego, but it can't come at the sake of professionalism and maturity. Life throws challenges at us to grow from, and she's definitely done that after her unfortunate events of the 2020/21 Olympics. Well done.

    • @OedipusSimplex
      @OedipusSimplex Год назад

      Sha'carri has been a champion at every level she's run.
      Junior, college and pro.
      She gets a record every time she runs.
      This is her first time running at the World Championships and she got the record.
      So what is this talk about as if she has somehow done anything different?
      The Olympics was never about running. She won those Olympics trials.

    • @scottrichardson7838
      @scottrichardson7838 Год назад +3

      @@OedipusSimplex What she's done different is reduce the showboating, likely stopped smoking weed, and let the skill she already had do all the talking for her. I think I elucidated that in my comment above fairly well. She was always an impressive sprinter, and personally I think she could be the greatest ever if she can cross that 10.60 barrier.

      Hand timing is not the same as all electronic timing. If Gatlin said she was running 10.4's and 10.5's that means she was running upper 10.6's and 10.7's converted to electronic timing. If she was running 10.4's with all electronic timing all she would have needed was a few USTAF officials present and she would be the World Record holder.

    I find it very strange that there has been no on air acknowledgment of Sha’carri Richardson becoming the women’s 100m world champion this week.
    All the mainstream media outlets and sports debate shows had multiple segments on Sha’carri Richardson during her low points. Not one analyst passed up on the opportunity to ridicule her then.
    Richardson delivered under the brightest of lights against an incredibly competitive field, for the USA no less. Surely, it is only right that American sports media highlights her redemption with the same enthusiasm they spoke about her fall from grace?
    I guess negativity really does sell better in this space.

    She's just a bit more mature than 2 years ago as you should expect but it's still good to see. She was really a bit stunned by the win even though she believes in herself. That showed that she has gained a bit of poise and humility and respect for the other athletes that was really lacking a few years ago. She didn't act all boastful and arrogant when she won and she seemed to have the respect of her competitors too who were gracious and helped her enjoy the moment of celebration. It was a great sporting moment. She is still a bit dramatic for my liking, but she has improved in that area too. I have respect for anyone who can make improvements in their life and learn from experiences. And she has obviously worked very hard to become the world's fastest woman so she deserves the congratulations to have won the most high profile event of the World Athletics Championships and done it with such a great performance. And doesn't she look a lot better without all that ridiculous makeup and giant eyelashes, etc.?

Last year she spent too much energy in the beginning of the race, but this year she seems to use that energy after the initial start of her races, which has allowed her to excel about a quarter of the way, so that she is not just running faster than the other women, but she is catching up to and passing them. @@michael46 I mean yeah, I get how people can dislike her initially (I guess I got a bit carried away while writing this), stereotypes like that are still going strong unfortunately, but by now you’d expect most of these people would at least try and reconsider this after she showed a lot of class, both on track and off. But idk, honestly I don’t follow a lot of the media and I’m just glad she got what she deserved

    So proud of her. What we are witnessing is someone who have had some black elders that sat her down and corrected and guided her, these last few years. They loved her and assured her. I don’t know who they are. But they reminded her of her greatness and her destiny. And she listened. As a mother to a 26 year old daughter, I see it, I know it. I pray God’s blessings on her life. ❤

    She truly is better. She has beaten Shericka Jackson thrice this year now. Twice before yesterday. She just needed to do it at the championships to silence any doubters and she did. Well done to her.
    Of course they have the 200m next. I believe Shericka has no competition for that one though. But let's wait and see how it goes.

    The world record is held by someone on "the clear" who took so much of "the clear" that she, Florence GRIFFITH-JOYNER, died from it! Bob Kersee was the one responsible for it and yet he is still allowed to be part of the sport?! Hypocrisy! Elaine Thompson-Herah, Sha'Carri and other athletes who didn't take any form of steroids have deserved so much more credit over the years!
