Such a good episode. I love when Pete is able to be himself with a guest and then they just chat. It brings out so many interesting conversation threads.
Haven’t finished this episode, but i REALLY hope you brought up the sketch show “Human Giant” at some point. 🤞🤞. Such an obscure, sinfully underrated, and delightfully hilarious treat.
Jazzy Jeff is widely known as the inventor of the transformer scratch, a fundamental scratch dj technique. He’s still a massive figuee in the dj community and an all-around awesome dude!
Paul Sheer has earned the Sheeva (from the TV Show the League) not with his fantasy football skillz but comedy skills. I've seen every actor from "The League" on a podcast and Paul is by far my favorite going off of character.
This was one of my favorite episodes! Pete, I love your show and talk about it with my friends and family often. It’s a delicious combination of goofin’ and riffin’, coupled with a lot of wonderful spiritual insights. Thank you for providing laughter and love to all of your listeners ❤️ P.S. also loved your book and laughed out loud frequently while listening.
No, the members of New Edition were totally different guys, different names. They happened to have either found/created or were the producers of B2M, ABC(the little boys), and BBD (Bell Biv Devoe)
Long-time listener, first time caller! "I gotta take my shot!" What did I win?? Joking aside, Paul, I loved you in The League, How Did This Get Made? And even Yo Gabba Gabba (your knock knock jokes are my toddler's favorite part of the show!)
I agree with all the stuff about Alec Baldwin. I think him lying about pulling the trigger was what made people want to hold him accountable, I think everybody would have felt bad for him had he not lied about that.
The pilot and first season of the Sopranos is way, WAY over the top and if you look at the promos for the first season it's framed like a comedy. The show got way more serious and dramatic one they got their feet planted.
The concept of "Saving another ones soul" never sat well. Why make it a personal quest to convert the way another person thinks based on vague ideals? Never made sense and every church seemed like it should be a community center open to the public. After all, they are tax exempt from the public.
paul seems like such a genuine good dude.
What a genuine, episode! I love Paul and all of his stories - Pete and Paul have great chemistry!
I love Paul's stories. He tells a good story.
Jason Mantzoukas needs another episode as well!
Such a good episode. I love when Pete is able to be himself with a guest and then they just chat. It brings out so many interesting conversation threads.
Finding out that Paul is a real life Kevin McAllister fighting off a home invasion on his own with his own homemade weapons is just wild
You know what’s not wild? People using the word “wild.”
Paul's San Diego CSi SVU show was the funniest ever. I can just never remember what its called to look it up
NTSF:SD::SUV ?
Tall John!! So glad he's back

Listening now. Boys2Men came from the kids in New Edition that grew up. Now they're Men. New Band
No, the members of New Edition were totally different guys, different names. They happened to have either found/created or were the producers of B2M, ABC(the little boys), and BBD (Bell Biv Devoe)
@laurieclark1156 shit you're right BBD not Boys II Men. Damn pothead. Hahaha

I loved Andre in the The League- my favorite character!
Another wonderful episode Pete - thank you! ⭐️
Knew this would be good didn't disappoint

"Hey Paul, who do I make the check out to?" -Anil
Paul on depresh mode this last week
Neal Brennan is the mutual friend that had his life changed by ayahuasca. He could have just said Neal’s name it’s no secret
That's why it wasn't him.
Good thing the pod is lengthy... eventually pete gets tired enough to let the guest string 2 sentences together.😂 Said with love. Wooooo
probably addy wearing off as time goes on
Not being facetious... the format is inviting fellow good interviewers to interview pete.
YIELD! Great stuff! Ol Pauly is a fighter. The modern mammals plug... MAUH! Chef's kiss quality fun
LMAO "Did it give you Douche Chills?"
Check out the How Did This Get Made episode that Pete was on. It's episode #32, and Pete gets *great* mileage out of his Al Pacino impression.
Pete. nice Track choice for the ads. Did you choose it because sometimes everyone's gotta "Stay Krispy"
Ernest Hemingway - “All great novels have this in common - that they are truer than if they had ever really happened.”
I love your modern Mamels commercial 🎉😂
Neil Breen mention (jump scare?)??
How many books, skits, television shows, movies, etc. started out as tangents?
"The Plunge" was basically a convo at Tom's Diner between the gang #Seinfeld
"I have held fake guns for years" - Paul.
I have that exact same naked lady story.
You guys watch Neil Breen movies?!?
Can I interview you Pete when you come to Houston
"If you get the facts wrong, it's More than true! Mythologizing your own life is a Good thing!" 🙄

🍿
It was different time back then nobody cared about children. And we were always looking for trouble

Great episode even if I had to stare at that loser clippers gear
Soooooooo, does he go back to the pancreas story?
