The difference is the full size CPAP forces air and the mini CPAP gives more air when you inhale. I actually have one and it works. The only real problem is the battery doesn't last long. Mine dies after about 3-4 hours. It's held on by a silicone strap the goes around your ears like the mask we had to wear during covid. I'm returning mine only because of the battery life.
Thank you for the video! I was going to buy it, and yes, you are right. I would not have returned it. Wouldn't have been worth my time to return. I'm glad I saw your video first
Does it occur to anyone that this guy might have an axe to grind ? I am not an engineer , by I do not agree with your assumption that a CPAP device needs to look like a relic of a world war one mustard gas mask. There is no real reason that sleep apnea cannot be controlled with a device the size of a micro CPAP device
Clearly you've never used a CPAP. They produce a LOT of air pressure. Did you see how much air the real CPAP was putting out? And how the scam device put out none at all? There's no way.
You're right, it's an engineering problem and that's all. We have lasers that can store information onto molecules in a disk but people think that a fan that pumps a large volume of air on a more convenient device than a huge mask is science fiction 🙄
They don't cost a lot of money. I like it, so I disagree with everyone that trashes these. Test them yourselves. These reviewers keep acting like you're supposed to have a huge gust of air violently blowing into your nose. It's supposed to help you breathe, not blow your brains out. And yes they can fall off. Some come with straps.
If you don't mind me asking, what were your symptoms that led to you buying one of these? Snoring, low spO2, obstructed breathing? Does your unit have any static pressure? This video was showing air flow, but air flow is often less important than initial pressure. Put a finger on each opening and see if it tries to push your fingers off to let air escape. If not, there's no real pressure. It's possible that this is providing you the same benefits as passive systems like nose strips, because the silicone pillow may be opening your nostrils. You should try just using the pillow without the fan unit and see if you get the same result. Another possibility is that having the device in may be limiting how deep your sleep is and thus preventing obstruction that results from extreme relaxation. This is why they recommend against sleeping pills and alcohol if you have sleep apnea. Needless to say, I am curious about your situation and think this idea could work, but the fans and motors would have to be stronger to get a reasonable pressure.
@@briboy2009 When you've used CPAPs for decades, and hauled them all over the U.S. and Europe, and bought supplies and new machines out of your own pocket, and no one in your family wants to share a room with you 'cause you look like Hannibal Lecter and sound like Darth Vader -- well, you do grasp at straws a bit.

Thank you for taking the time to produce a video to warn us. I was considering one.
Thanks, I nearly bought one!

I really did want one too…I thought it was at minimum stronger then that😔
@@a.k.akingloose I really wanted them too, enough to sink $200 into their Indiegogo campaign. 🤬🤬🤬

good point!
Maybe some day, but definitely not there yet. I need high pressure to control my apnea and this little joke of a thing wouldn't do anything.

You do not know what you are talking about. Lol. It's kinda funny how little you know about this subject, and how obvious it is.

Did you charge this up before you tried it?

Thx. Helps me save money
Those things are the biggest load of garbage ever. Who on earth would buy one of those and think they will help with sleep apnoea. The mind boggles.
