So I've always wondered what is a medium or large room considered a square footage? Is a 15 ft x 12 ft room considered large? And personally I would have preferred a 7.1 system option update!
I got my fuel sub set up yesterday.
Having one was great, but because I was looking for more depth, it truly give you a different experience having the dual sub set up. If you looking for more just sound and want more feel, when you are watching and enjoying movies or sports, this is the answer.
It is much more apparent, and I think it is worth it. The next step would be getting individual receiver, speakers, amps and the whole bit. However Sonos make it simple, targets your need and you variable options are amongst many.
This review was great. Very simple, not
Long and straight to the point.
I suggest getting if you are looking for the extra umphhhhffff in your system.
I too am considering the Sonos AMP to add for my system. Does anyone if I buy the Sonos amp if it connects to the entire system for you Sonos system that currently exists, or does it dedicate it self to what it is connected to?
LOVE IT..........Have the Sonos ARC soundbar / 2 subs / and (2) ONE SL's friggin love it....now hoping to be able to use (2) sonos 5's as rears and 2 ONE SL's as 6th and 7th speaker for a 5.2.4....cheers all and be safe
7.1.2 setup. This is what I'm waiting for!
How big is your room? I have a Sonos Arc / 1 Sub and (2) ONE SL’s in a 45m2 livingroom. Will a second sub make sense?
@@norbertm1744 room is 14 x 22 ft makes a great difference...love it
Did u end up doing it? So where do u place the 2 sonos 5s and 2 SLs. I am thinking of getting this setup for our 17*17 media room. Any thoughts?
@@AP-qu8sl I just ended up going with the ARC / 2 subs / 2 SL's....sounds awesome
Why stop at 2? Why not 4 or 8
Money my friend, we all got limit somewhere x)
More people would be happy if you can use one sub for different group.
Loved the review…, been wondering if adding an extra sub would be over kill. Due to the fact that my living room isn’t a large room…, but I love the rumble and punch in my movies and music! On the verge of pulling the trigger on upgrading from the playbase to an arc/ dual sub.
“If you live in a flat or share a wall with another neighbour, you might cause some problems” I will take my chances 😂
Wow, a single update to potentially double their money 😅 - Must sound pretty sweet though!
Doubt it, it's just a marketing move. Lots of money there for almost certainly little to no significant sound improvement.
@@1450JackCade actually depend on the room, if you have a medium or bigger sized room 2 subs is a lot better.
Not really for the volume of the bass rather than it’s clearity and smoothness.
The 2 subs help each other to create a smoother low frequency response.
So no, it’s not just marketing and if you don’t know what you’re talking about stop telling non sense with no knowledge backing it up.
@@1450JackCadeare you stupid on purpose?
They woulda been better off adding up firing speakers to their surround speakers
Well they did now..
I'm actually pretty impressed with this review, it's was simple yet in-depth enough to get the point across and make clear who or what you benefit. It's a good product, and I'll be looking for the next review.
What?
She said NOTHING that's not available elsewhere.
She added NOTHING to this conversation.
This was the definition of an empty intervention.
@@1450JackCade I didn't go elsewhere for the review or information, I saw it here first. So that just like your troll ass comment, is irrelevant. Also, I wasn't aware this was a conversation or an intervention, unless you were talking back to the device you watched it on...?
Or arguing with someone else about this product...?
Either way man, go troll elsewhere
Once again thanks for the feedback. When you quote - She said nothing that is available elsewhere. How about they said nothing that is available elsewhere. Your comment only makes sense on one level only which is sad and why we have replied. You are also aware that are such things as unboxing videos that people find interesting. Anyway once again thank you for watching and your feedback.
Did I hear you right? You mentioned that using one of these subwoofers in the app the sub could be added to a system without Sonos products?
Can be add to the Sonos amp which can drive every passive speaker
@@Johannes1694 The comment in the vid was for non Sonos systems. That's intriguing.
Sonos arc, 2 One SLs and 2 subs gen 3s are amazing!!!
And expensive too. But we’ll worth the entertainment.
Can't wait to see the reviews on how the new Sonos 300 will sound with that set-up compared to One SLs as rear surrounds.
@@mrgold3591 Sonos 300s are new? I have an acquaintance that has the two 5s and the double subs. I was reluctant and too cheap and frugal to splurge all the way!
@@keithmoore6334 Looks like Sonos is providing two new speakers above the Ones and below the Fives called the 100 and 300. Haven't hit the stores yet and don't know pricing. The 300 are suppose to have upward firing speakers for better surround and Atmos effect.
ruclips.net/video/Yi-WQKozsfA/видео.html
@@mrgold3591 wow. Okay. Thank you. I guess if they keep improving I will try to keep up as much as I can. Lol. I thought I hit the entertainment pinnacle with the double sub setup, but I’m just mid-grade at this point.
Even more people would love if the trueplay feature could also be used with the Sonos Amp and your own passive speakers, not only the hardware dongled build in ones from Sonance!
I would direct anyone pondering two subs to the REL subwoofer website for further information on the stereo subwoofer rationale.
Myself, I have gone from a powerful, tower speaker audiophile 3.2 system to a downsized sound bar system via Sonos. I ran two REL subs in a 16x20 room for years, not so much for more bass, but rather for sonic headroom with less distortion and better dispersion for stereo imaging.
My Sonos arc is in a similarly sized room; it’s going to have one subwoofer. Two is always better. Not necessarily for additional bass, rather more refined bass and lower-midrange imaging.
I have an Sonos ARC, if I purchased the Sonos AMP, would I be able to add a SVS PB3000 sub and have it work with the ARC instead of the Sonos sub?
No
yes you can put your SVS PB3000 , with the sonos amp instead of the sonos SUB
Hi,please tell me, wich subwoofer goes lower/deeper between this sonos and jbl 3.1 / 9.1 ?
"I can say...when we had two subs set up we had more bass". Wow, insightful.
You either didn’t watch the video or you utterly failed to understand what she was saying. Whichever it is, the internet does not need your comments. In fact, you probably don’t even need to be on this planet, we’ll be fine without your ‘insights’.
But why only stop at 2
If I wanted to add about 4 subs I should be able too
It’s a bit weird why they limit you on a set up
Is a 15 ft x 14 ft room considered small?
Your room looks so small for 2 sonos subs, but anyway I was looking for this video. Thank you!
pin is now required which came as a surprise to me. In addition to a button press. I can understand the need for security, but this this seems odd, especially as Sonos prides itself on simplicity.
If two subs are used to get a more even bass response and (!) the same perceived level of bass as when using one, I think you might be less likely to annoy your neighbors using two. This message does not constitute professional advice 😃
non directional does NOT mean that placement does not matter. place the sub anywhere in the room, play bass heavy music and then walk around. you will find that there are extreme highs and lows in bass pressure based on your location. you have to place the sub in a spot where your listening position is at a high point.
edit: this is also the best reason to add a second sub. it evens out those peaks and valleys and makes the bass more even throughout the room.
Will buy soon but ARC , SL & 2 subwoofers
Mine saying ..There was a problem adding your sub. Check network connection and make sure your product is power on. Omg!
I have a early matte sub and I absolutely love it. I hope they don’t make it obsolete anytime soon.
I can’t stand the glossy ones.
I have arc, sub Gen 3 2 sonos play 5 for rears. Thinking of adding the 2nd sub and was wondering front or back. But the fives produce some good base wasn't sure if it would be 2 much. Any have this setup?
I don’t have that set up but if you don’t know his channel already try Peter pee he’s rocking your set up and have many videos about Sonos.
i just bought this setup! but i added 2 subs! the arc is on back order so i have to wait to try it out sadly.... how do you like it though? with just 1 sub? worth the money spent??
@@jeezze07 I actually have the arc 2- sonos fives for rears and 2-subs in the front. Sounds very clear.
Only thing I noticed is with 1 sub it sounded like it was a deeper harder bass but with the 2 it's a mich more even sound. Maybe because the sub doesn't have to push as hard to compensate.
@@talentseekrs so well worth the money? I bought like 3 different sound bars, even the bose 900 took it all back and just decided to spend the money on the sonos group.
@@jeezze07 yes well worth the money
Where is the follow up?
I’m trying to add a second sub to the existing pair of Sonos Five in stereo mode. Can anyone help.
You can't as I speak now. See my comment above
Will this work with a GEN 1 sub?
If the other one is a gen 3 then yes.
Can you connect 2 subs to 1 play 5?
I just found out to my disappointment, you can't. You can add only one sub to single five or one sub to stereo paired fives as we speak. They might be working on this to improve according to one of the sonos community member. I want to add second sub to my stereo paired fives + sub and trueplay tune all four in my room but can't do it because S2 doesn't support it. I decided to go get a second sub as the video here has a scene with two fives although she clearly mentions that you need one of Sonos soundbar (watching it for the second time). I should have been more attentive, but believed what I wanted to see while not paying closer attention.
I’ve seen those subs at Costco and they are stiff but if seen cheaper subs sound better
That would be over a grand just on subs....how about nah. Il keep my one.
Is it worth £700 though?
@@muzman777 i dig it. Especially for my current living arrangement being in a condo. Its quality sound and a great sub...a little overpriced, sure...but I like it.
I still have my 7.2 in storage for when I move back into a house...I can buy new speakers for my old system for another 700 bucks...no way I'd buy two of those.
Wait till the big sono sales they usually happen in the early summer! You might be able to get them for 40% off
Have to have a huge room otherwise the single sub is pretty much creating a ton of bass. But it’s useful obviously for those that need it.
2 subs is a must
The best way to get gd sub sound , place the sonos sub in corner right or left by your tv ...
Dual sub is surely overkill for 99% of rooms.
You obviously have never auditioned dual IDENTICAL subwoofers
Dual sub doesn’t mean louder bass.
It simply helps to smooth the bass and clear it when it would sometimes crackle
@@brunojr9 Dual subs are also about 3-6 db louder. There are a couple of youtubers who have measured dual subs and they have the graphs. Do a search on youtube.
@@mrpmj00 what I meant is that you are going to get louder bass ( of course you are , you are going to have double the output) but the main reason nearly everyone will have dual subs is to smoothen out the bass and will often put the near the tv on the same wall and not on the corner to make sure you don’t have overpowering bass.
@@brunojr9 Yep, my main reasons for dual subs compared to 1 when I compared them were: smooth out the bass, fills the whole room.
In my projector room, I put mine in opposite corners (front right, rear left) of the room.
In my family room (which opens to the kitchen on the left), I put mine on the same wall (front right, middle right) of the room.
Fuck me... I even heard the massive difference on my iPhone! 🤯
I’m ready to piss off my neighbors just bought the ARC 2Subs and a pair of one sls hopefully it sounds amazing.. I almost got 2 fives instead of the ones but I’m pretty sure that would be extreme overkill..any thoughts??
I have the ones and they are great as stereo and surrounds. If money is no problem definitely upgrade to the fives.
How did you go? I live in an apartment and deciding if a second sub is overkill.
Please get component systems guys. This is nowhere near a component sound
I think there is pros and cons. There is compelling sound quality in Sonos even considering the cost - I like Five Subwoofer and even Move. I also have component "stack" with wires everywhere (ugh!) I have had and heard other components and speakers that costs a lot more but poorly matched and setup (for your room) that sounds much worse than the pair of sonos five + sub with trueplay tuned for your room.
As a bass player, I think this setup is totally unnecessary for most average homes, but I guess if you have no need for your ears in the long run , go for it.
agree!
You can't beat an av reciver and a wired system
It depends on the size of the room and depends on if you want to run wires and drill holes. I have a theater room with a receiver and wired system but I'd never put that in my bedroom or living room. The Sonos Arc with a subwoofer and 2 Sonos Ones sounds great and much better then any other soundbar setup. The ability to have 2 subs will bring the system closer to a wired system sound profile.
I love potatoes
What it really says: using 1,( £700!) Sonos sub woofer, does not provide enough bass or sufficient effect! Which for that price, is a disgrace!
One sub is plenty. Trust me.
Yeah this video is just overkill
@@coliander4180 Not always true - depends on your taste and room size.
@@taeoh5 If your room is so large that a single Sub isn't sufficient, then the Arc certainly isn't going to be suitable either.
There is literally no scenario where a second Sub is going to be beneficial to your setup.
The frequencies the sub puts out are too low to be perceived as directional by the human ear - to a reasonable degree, at least. There is absolutely no perceivable benefit to running a stereo sub pair. Because your ears won't be able to separate the two sources.
If your soundstage is genuinely so huge that a single Sub isn't going to cut the mustard, then there's no way in hell that your other Sonos gear is going to be sufficient either, because low frequencies cover far more ground than higher frequencies. In terms of pure sound reinforcement, the Sub is by *far* the strongest link in the Sonos chain.
If you've been convinced by Sonos or some well known 'audiophile' magazine that a Stereo sub pair is a good investment, I'd seriously recommend doing some more research.
@@coliander4180 I think you know something about the subwoofers and LF sound but you are missing the point (in fact, incorrect) on why dual sub is worth the investment for some folks. I agree, too much bass can be over-kill in depends on your room. Stereo sound from sub isn't the objective. We are not talking about Arc (I am puzzled). BTW, you are speaking to someone who has been using subwoofers over twenty years. I currently own too many subs of various models deployed in three different rooms of different applications (music and HT) and I know how to use them in creating sonic bliss and impact. I should do more research....you bet there so much to learn about all things in at home music reproduction. You are of course speaking from your experience...I can't tell if you are? You might be missing out. That happens to people who aren't even curious about other people's thoughts, opinions, and experience. Cheers!
Or just buy a monitor audio sub, they’re much better
You need to be more careful when recording your videos. You have some awful background noise, and its distracting from what the presenter is saying. I couldn't watch it all. Very poor and careless. Thankfully there are other channels to look at. 😢
I sold my sonos gear for real audio gear after the company began phasing out software support for their products. Buyer beware.
Maybe you are on to something. I am not impressed with their latest software not supporting older products at all! If that happens again, I am done with Sonos.
@@taeoh5 iI’s the problem with anything thats dependent on software support. You just have to accept it’s going to have a limited life span. I have passive speakers now connected to an amplifier and streamer.
@@jonathandavis9507 that is so true but it is not an excuse to deliver software solution that is not modular, scalable, compatible, etc like you can only add one sub to certain speakers but not other speakers. I have a some questions for the sonos engineering team if they truly aspire to create some digital disruption to the audio industry which is old expensive and complicated. After some 30 years in the audiophile "cult" of turntable, streamer, dac, preamp, amp, cords, wires, cables, and stands, I want something simple and easy that is enjoyable to my ears.
@@taeoh5 I think other companies are doing a better job of that. If you’re serious about music, you’re going to want a better system. Lyngdorf TDAI-1120 is one “plug and play” solution with room correction. Just add speakers and a sub or two. Personally, I’ll get a separate streamer device because software constantly changes and I’m not tethered to it. It’s one thing I hate about new cars, also. For me, Sonos is good for background music and that would be it.
Less than ideal subwoofer placement. 9 times out of 10, having them both upfront totally defeats the purpose of dual subs.
She said if your room is to small it will over kill. With that being said all previous videos claim to have a great sound you should be in a square close room or close to. By adding another sub your just killing the sound with over power noise.
You video posters are just making videos to make money off Really baseless notion of sound.
Booooooooooo
total let down. I have a JBL 12 inch sub that shits all over both of these amd cost me $400 new
No sound system in the box is ever going to be as good as a real home theater
Not true. Sonos is outstanding!
A fool and his money are easily parted.
Of what concern is it to you how other folk spend their dough?
This video is clearly aimed at those who already own Sonos products or those interested in buying in to their eco system.
It's hardly a secret that their gear is far from the cheapest so I see absolutely no point to your comment apart from you fancied a bit of trolling.
@@charliezobel511 I already own a significant amount of Sonos gear, Charlie. I also hold a Bachelor's Degree in Audio Engineering. If your room has so much volume that you require two Subs working in tandem to move sufficient air around, then you're going to need something with a lot more punch overall than Sonos can offer.
There's nothing wrong with having two Subs in theory (providing you aren't one of those 'Stereo Subwoofer' morons). But your Beam, your Arc -even your Play 5's only have enough output to keep up with a single Sub. Anybody with a Sonos Sub will know that it has absolutely no problem keeping up with the rest of their Sonos components, so why on earth would you need a second one in your setup?
@@coliander4180 well that told me didn't it, though it does beg the question why you didn't just say that to start with rather than what amounts to very much a sneering comment?

I have to say the Sonos sub is pretty crap it's just a big boom box there is nothing tight and punchy about it, it's just a big boom boom box, I wish I hadn't bought it but it's my own fault for not hearing it first, awe well
Sonos suck. Denon has better sound quality.
