  • A few weeks ago, I was on a car camping roadtrip. The destination I wanted to visit did not allow overnight camping or parking, so I had to research somewhere to sleep for the night. Friends, I’m going to share a rest area experience I had recently which forced me to make a major change in where I use the restroom AND where I allow myself to car camp overnight. Watch to see what went down!! Stay safe out there folks! Oh, I also give a quick update at the end of the video! #creepy #solocarcamping #restarea

    I think you were 100% correct to leave! Like you said he didn't ask the other people in the other cars already parked there. Your gut was spot on and don't beat yourself up for being a nice person. You didn't roll the window all the way down and you didn't look away from him. You got out of there which was the right thing to do. I would have drove all night also!

      Right?!?! LOL. I couldn't believe it! I'm going your route now, brining back my collapsible toilet because I usually stop at rest areas to use the bathroom before I go to my overnight spot (if I'm road tripping).. No more, done with that! In "house" toilet it is!!

    So I firmly believe that God gives us those "gut instinks" as a way of warning us. Regardless of wether something would have happened or not, your intuition was instructing you to leave. ALWAYS LISTEN TO THAT SMALL STILL VOICE, it will never lead you wrong. I proud of you for paying attention and so glad you are safe.

    Yeah, you are spot on. It’s a weird request, because if he has a truck, if he got a “ride”, what is he going to do with his “truck?” I think it had more to do with human trafficking. Just my take…

    The fact is that addiction is a choice, not an illness or disease. If you choose to never drink or never try drugs then you will never become addicted. Today's society coddle addicts too much and make a million and one excuses for their behavior and bad life choices.

    • @DeezRoads
      @DeezRoads  2 месяца назад

      I disagree for many reasons, one babies being born addicted and another folks being forced into sex trafficking which often results in them being drugged, all against their will.

    Some people say they've never had any problems at rest areas, but in travels, just seeing panhandlers in rest areas, we've driven away. There. was a scary occurrence in one at night years ago that caused me to never want to sleep in one. Someone tried to break in when my husband pulled in to use the restroom while the kids and I were asleep in the van; doors were locked, fortunately. I use them now in daytime, but I sit and observe first before going into the bathroom. There's no reason to feel any guilt for appearing judgmental. Judgment is essential for safety and I would be very judgmental of any man (or woman) approaching my car at night. I would have backed out the moment I saw him walking toward my car, as was your first instinct. I don't trust anyone at midnight! :) Glad you hightailed it out of there safely.

    • @DeezRoads
      @DeezRoads  2 месяца назад

      That was the first time I've had an experience like that at a rest area and it's all I need to say NO MORE! OMGosh.... I am so thankful your doors were locked and they weren't able to get into your vehicle. I can't imagine how frightening that must have been...especially with the kids in the car...oh no!! I'm going to take your advice if I ever use a rest area again for their bathrooms - sit and observe first! that's great advice!

    • @marilyn2
      @marilyn2 2 месяца назад +3

      @@DeezRoads You said there were several other cars parked there. It's likely that the guy had already approached them for a handout, with or without success, and they stayed and went to sleep. Any attempts to harm you, causing you to scream, would have alerted others which he wouldn't want. Still, it's scary, and it's best to get away from a sketchy situation.

    ya at a state campground a guy kept walking by to the bathroom and would stare at my campsite. I was at the squeaky well and there he was...no one around. I left. What guy uses the bathroom to pee anyway and Each time I did. His tent was facing my site with an empty one in between....maybe he want to just meet but not me. I left.

    If you don't have one already maybe you should look into the female pee container. You can use that for emergencies or if you think the area is kind of suspect I know it's gross but at least you'll be safe and you won't be vulnerable or taking a chance.#2 you should look into getting a pocket knife to where it has like the money clip on it or you can clip it on to the top of your pants or edge of pocket and you can have something with you at all times.#3 if you have to go to a rest stop again get out the car and act like you're speaking to someone or wait until someone or telling someone to come with you with a hand motion. Maybe putting some car stickers with guns on your vehicle will be good.i keep several weapons in my car as well as my home 2 weapons in each rm guns ,kmives,dagger. Machete $14 at Walmart lol , Crocodile Dundee knives. Mace bless the knife that I carry on me at all times. If I'm wearing a dress I clip it to my neckline❤😊?😊😮😮😢😮😢😮😢
